Curious minds want to know.

The NASDAQ National Market imposes minimum bid price, quantitative and other criteria in determining whether a company will be permitted to list its stock on the NASDAQ.

Initial Minimum Bid Price for Stock : The stock must have a minimum initial bid price of $5.00, and must later remain at or above $1.00.
Quantitative Requirements : A company must have net tangible assets of $6 million and net income in the latest fiscal year or two of the past three fiscal years of $1 million. In addition, these companies must have a public float of $1.1 million, a market value of the public float of $8 million, a minimum of 400 shareholders, and at least three market makers.
Capitalization Alternative : Companies that do not meet the quantitative requirements may nevertheless be listed on NASDAQ if they have a market capitalization of $75 million or total assets of $75 million and total revenues of $75 million, an initial minimum bid price of $5.00.
Peer Review Requirement : The practices of all independent auditors for companies listed on the NASDAQ are subject to monitoring under a peer review system. Also, the quality control systems of accounting firms of NASDAQ-listed companies are reviewed by peers every three years.
NASDAQ SmallCap

Small capitalization companies can be listed on the NASDAQ SmallCap Market if they have:

net tangible assets of $4 million, or
$50 million market capitalization, or
net income in the latest fiscal year or two of the past three fiscal years of $750,000.
In addition, these companies must have a public float of $1 million, a market value of the public float of $5 million, a minimum of 300 shareholders, and at least three market makers. Also, these companies must have an operating history of at least one year or $50 million market capitalization. The initial minimum bid price is $4.00 and the same ongoing minimum bid price and peer review requirements as are set forth above apply.

I posted before when questions came up if QTN is actually on the air. We are on the air since July with an pre-view format for cable companies.

So what's the big difficulty with RCN getting the signal?

This was just posted on QTV News!

Frank Olsen announced today that despite a gigantic effort by the staffs of RCN and Q Television Network, technical difficulties between the uplink facility in New Orleans and the operating units Of RCN caused the launch of Q Television Network to be delayed by a few days. The launch which was scheduled for 12.57 P.M., September 4, 2004 will be restarted as soon as these difficulties are worked out. Q television has received assurances from all parties concerned that it will be “up” before the end of next week.
http://www.qtelevision.com/news.html

Not that it's a big deal but I'ld sure like to hear a few posters tell me they're watching my network.

I don't know what RCN's problem is? New programming arrived late Saturday afternoon via special currier and is aired now. Maybe they don't have a satellite antenna looking at IA-7 (formerly Telstar 7) or don't know how to fit QTN into the EPG (Electronic Programming Guide) since QTN is not listed yet. We are uplinking at our end....

Please excuse my ignorance
the update says "
The launch which was scheduled for 12.57 P.M., September 4, 2004 will be restarted as soon as these difficulties are worked out."

1. 12.57 "PM" September 4,2004. Why Frank posetd this message late on Sept 5th 12.00 AM...???

2. So "end next week means" This week or week after that.

I'm confused and frustared, can anyone clear my mind. I cannot sleep properly 'cos of Qbid.

And Like I Said. I Wanted Them To Delay It!!

Like I said, some of it is strategy, but mostly because they weren't 100% ready.
I didn't want them to launch if they were not ready. I told you guys not to get your hopes up.
I just hope the PPS stays where it is or keeps going upwards...

Anyone that sees it move down, will probably sell in worries, bringing us to a new support level lower then it is now.

Rest assure, New highs will be made end of month or in October. I never said, Sept. because I knew charts weren't ready, plus a delay would prevent it.

I'm sure this surprised Frank as much as it did us.

Everyone should think about their own experiences starting something new. Anyone ever build a new house? I've built 3 in the past 12 years and none of them were ready on time. How about new technology at work, new network, phone system, new software package? Is it perfect and 100% at the begining - probably not.

Take a deeeeeeep breath, now exhale. Try to understand that new technology is never perfect at launch.

At the very least, Frank can still release a press release stating rumored new carrier and maybe advertisers. Frank should take this opportunity to offer a little information to shareholders and keep us updated on the uplink problem. Doing that would keep most people content. Like 1Big, I wasn't too surprised about this small delay... Unexpected and unplanned events happen like this all the time...actually feel sorry for Frank...he must be completely disappointed right now. But, give RCN and Frank a few days and see what happens.

Still want to see advertisers!!

If QBID drops again, I WILL be buying more...should have kept my shares bought at 0035...live and learn!!!!

MS_Gulfcoast---Can you tell us if you've seen any advertisers? Can you please keep us updated on shows...and whatever relevant things you get to view on QTN??

We would all be so appreciative of this...I remember reading a few of your posts a few months ago...Glad to see you are back.

Yeah, but this should be old hat by now for both parties. RCN receives signals for dozens of channels, if they are professionals I'd think they should have the process down by now. Same goes for the signal provider. The distribution agreement was anounced July 21st. They've had over a month to work out the bugs.

Of course, I don't know what the "technical" problems are so there may be something unique in the situation but I don't know why there would be unless it's something on QTV's end of things. They're the only one this is new for.

I guess we wait (some more) and see.

I checked out your link. Since the date was just the year, I went to the Cableworld Archives. This did take more time than I had expected. I had to go back through weeks and weeks of articles and publications. But, like you, I was determined to locate it.

There it was in the CableFax June 21, 2004 edtion--before the satelite launch and before the RCN contract announcement.

Congratulations, you seem to have graduated from innocuous questions to focused DD.

Don't worry, I worked in the Television field for two or three years durring my early college career for FOX/CBS XFL (Our ONE season!) for the Sports Mmobile TV Production at games at Giant Stadium. My father works for CBS Television, delays are TOTALLY to be expected, espaically right before 'ON-AIR'. (We use to run into problems all the time with the Mobile Production Units... It happens, add human error and computer error together and you get delays However we have made it this far and if we have to wait so be it! Besides I wouldn't mind CMKX hitting THEN me buying some more QBID shares Lol, greedy Yes!

Hello 1BigTip, Whiz, et al,
I'm relieved too. I work in the entertainment field (albeit on the fringes) and I see delay after delay and they mean nothing except that there are a million little things that need to happen to get a product out, and as long as they are moving forward it is usually okay. QTN seems more and more like the real deal to me the more we chug along. In fact, if they hit their marks too often, I'd start to be suspicious. There is almost no such thing as a concrete schedule in the entertainment industry. "Hurry up and wait" is the motto I hear every day. A technical problem is the most common reason for a delay, like we seem to have here, and they mean nothing in the long run. They can always be worked out. I only worry when I hear issues about the budget, or with agreements that just can't be reached. And even then, forward momentum is the main indicator. (We've finish commercials and sometimes entire movies before we actually sign the final contracts! That's how fluid these things are.) If they have deals and are moving forward with the work, that's as good as it gets sometimes in entertainment. If I wanted hard facts about every date and deal, I would invest in widgets, but never never never in entertainment.

I'm taking this opportunity to try and join my Q family here in the million share club this week. I was start to feel like I wouldn't get the chance (I'm almost there!) but this delay could do the trick for me. Everyone enjoy the rest of their weekend.

Go Q.

One more opportunity to buy coming up. Wonder if there will be a fire sale. Just in case let me clear my conscience....

For those of you that sell in a panic,,,I'm buying on Wednesday & possibly Friday!

When QTV's signal becomes available to the public & this thing goes crazy please don't expect to get those shares back for less than .25, .50 & $1.25!

Oh yea & thanks in advance!

Hi John, can't say that I was really surprised. Those ?? on the satelite chart were strange.

Diana made a guess about the 15th being the date after the judge has had his say with RCN. That would give me another week to add to my shares.!

I too would like to sell some of my other stocks to put more into QBID. The expensive stocks may be up, but the momentum hasn't trickled down to the pennies.

I wouldn't wait to buy more for to long.
Like I have said, Frank said "Up and running by the end of the week" I don't think it will take that long. I think he is just giving himself enough time, just in case he needs it.
When we launch, It's to the moon!!!
