Hope you got the low too. We're at bargain basement prices--so any price today is a steal. I haven't found any stock board to be sweet, but I do have a pair of ruby red slippers for anyone who wants to borrow them to repeat, "There's no place like home."

That must be from the Wizard of Iz, I don't recall Dorothy having any sisters. The "for real" mean posters pretend to be somebody else and sometimes they are just so very helpful. If you read the other boards to compare posts, you may see what I mean--it fairly obvious.

This is what I get for having the Wiggles on all day. I missed it. But here it is anyway.
McGreevey Resigns Abruptly Over Homosexual Affair New Jersey Governor Will Quit Nov. 15, Says 'I Am a Gay American'
TRENTON, N.J. (Aug. 12) - In a stunning declaration, Gov. James E. McGreevey acknowledged that he had an extramarital affair with another man and announced his resignation Thursday. ''My truth is that I am a gay American,'' he said.
''Shamefully, I engaged in adult consensual affairs with another man, which violates my bonds of matrimony,'' the married father of two said. ''It was wrong, it was foolish, it was inexcusable.''
The Democrat said his resignation would be effective Nov. 15.
McGreevey said he would step down because his secret - both his sexuality and his affair - leaves the governor's office vulnerable.
The former suburban mayor took office 2 1/2 years ago, and despite inheriting a $5 billion budget deficit, he steadfastly refused to boost income taxes for most New Jerseyans, instead raising taxes on millionaires, casinos and cigarettes.

But he has been dogged by several scandals involving fund-raising.
Among those caught up in recent scandals were his first chief of staff and former counsel; a top Democratic fund-raiser and former high school classmate; and real estate developer Charles Kushner, McGreevey's biggest campaign contributor, who was charged with trying to thwart a federal campaign-finance investigation by luring a grand jury witness - his own brother-in-law - into a compromising position with a prostitute and sending video and photos to the man's wife.
McGreevey would be the second governor to resign in weeks, following the resignation in June of Connecticut GOP Gov. John Rowland amid corruption investigations and threats of impeachment.
McGreevey rose from suburban mayor to state chief executive by his tenacious pursuit of party politics, maintaining a power base days after he narrowly lost to Republican Christie Whitman in 1997.
McGreevey never truly stopped that campaign until he won in November 2001, beating Republican Bret Schundler by 15 percentage points.
Born in Jersey City, McGreevey graduated from Columbia University in 1978. He earned a law degree from Georgetown University in 1981 and a master's degree in education from Harvard University a year later.
After briefly serving as a county prosecutor, McGreevey became a lobbyist for a pharmaceutical company, then a state government official. While in the Legislature, McGreevey voted for Gov. Jim Florio's $2.8 billion tax hike that prompted a voter rebellion against Democrats.

The whole thing is pretty sad! I feel for his wife & I feel bad for him trying to fit into social "norms". I think they will frame it that he had to step down because of extra marital affair. But I wish that was not an issue cause I'ld like to see where this went without that element. Bill Clinton had sex outside the marrage but life goes on! This incident involves same-sex affair & it's so big a deal they say he needs to step down.

I'm with you Whiz, it is so sad for both the gov. and his family. One station said that exposure threats of his gay affair brought him to his decision. I wonder if there is even one politician who has been faithful to his/her partner--doubt it. This sad news does reinterate the potential for a family alternative station providing indept viewpoints. Go QBID!

King Crimson--had to shake my head and chuckle because when I heard this story a little while ago, I immediately thought of the Q, specifically the Q Mobile(LOL).
Then, I thought that once this has died down a bit, wouldn't it be good if the Q could do a news piece or feature type show on him...interview him regarding personal struggles and challenges and then of course the end of his governorship...Thought it could be an introspective piece which would be even more insightful if his wife agreed to discuss this too. Thought this type of relevant show would be appropriate for our QTN...I'm sure QTN viewers would find this interesting.
Hope Frank and his executives are thinking this way, too. If they ever run out of ideas, all they have to do is look up QBID on Allstocks (laugh). Think we all could make some extra money as paid "creative consultants" (lol) These days I seem to be thinking about what would appeal to gays and lesbians... freaks my husband out when I start talking about all my QTN ideas (laugh).
I do feel for the man's family. They must be struggling with everything they've just learned...hope the children are okay. Changes like these are not easy for adults let alone kids.

Okay..called my little sister in Amhearst NY. She has Adelphia, not RCN. However, after much laughter and arm twisting, I had her email Adelphia about QTN...saying she wanted to subscribe to it in the fall..that RCN would have it and what about Adelphia? So, maybe Adelphia will send her a response. I'll post if it comes! Must say that she said if they, the company, asked too many personal questions, she was going to say it was for me...that a mother of 4 was a closet lesbian. (laugh) Oh well. The things we do for our QTN!!!
