To get your charts to post have you tried doing a screenshoot (Alt-Print Screen). Then loading it into MSPaint which comes with windows and chopping out the chart you want, save it as an image and then load it into your posting. Just a thought, but it should work...

Sorry guys, after reading the Jan. 21, 2000 news about QBID I think I had an orgasm. It certainly made my weekend! You can find it by clicking the link below. They sent a list of all broadcasting stations and channels they were airing on. THATS WHAT WE SHOULD EXPECT VERY SOON!! I posted this already but it did'nt show up on the thread.
I recieved this ad with my subscription of Fortune magazine.
the title of the ad is Consumer Watch:
The AD on the top of the page is about General Motors Recall
The ad on the bottom of the page is about Kodak Picture Maker:
The ad in the middle Homosexual TV.... A new cable TV is hitting the airwaves. The Triangle Television Network will make its debut in the next three months.TTN will specialize in programming for gays and lesbians. It's available to about 10,000 cable tv companies for $2 a month. Time Warner Cable Television has agreed to make the signal available to any of tis local subscribers. Programming will include taped gay athletic contests and fasionshows.
It was in an insert not in the magazine....

One question I have wondedred for a long time now, is how do you run a 24 hour network without actors and actresses on your payroll. No film crews actually working just for you. No production studio, I mean ya gotta have some type of production studio. Right now Qbid is overnighting tapes to Louisiana to get them to air the tapes for them. Hard launch is supposedly coming real soon, and they have not named one show they have other than a documentary. Explain to me how they are gonna run a 24 hour network. Lets get technical here, no pumping that the pps is gonna soar crap, just break it down how Frank is gonna run a network with 4-5 people on the payroll.. When Logo released their pr a few weeks ago about launching a gay network, they mentioned advertisers already. Quite a few shows already lined up, what has qbid got? They supposedly almost launched years ago, where did all that video work go. They just throw it in the trash?

Welp Brandon, there is plenty of material available from other gay stations around the globe. One that we've already 'borrowed' from is Pridevision in Canada. It's possible we're merging with them, too. Betting Babe made an excellent argument for that.
Q has stated they have a crew in every major city right now. It doesn't take long to do documentaries, and since marriage is such a hot topic right now, I'm sure that will be a big part of the ongoing programming.
Once they get rolling and people see they are real and viable, then bigger deals will get struck and bigger names will be willing to jump onboard.
When they first talked about a 24/7 G&L station several years ago, they mentioned the line-up of programs would be run for 6 hours during the day and 6 hours at night. More like a 6-6/7 thing, but it was touted as a 24/7.
I'm signing off for the day. 10:00am Arizona

I got curious about this. So I called and spoke to 3 different people at Comcast Seattle. Two of them actually didn't know anything about QTELEVISION and one has heard of it. The one that has heard of it said that they only carried a test signal and when they did they got many calls complaining about it. (However, this could be different if it airs as a ppv channel) Each one offered to me the option to fill out a request form for the channel.
I could not confirm any signal going through now on Telstar 7 Channel 1.
They did confirm that since it is Sunday, Sales is out and I would have to call them back during the regular work week hours to see if there was any chance to carry the channel.
One person said that when a new channel comes out they normally get a vendor package that promotes the channel and they haven't seen one of them for this channel.
If you must know, I still own QBID.

My father wotrks for Viacom, I have worked for FOX, CBS, and NBC Sports TV Production. I have worked as a camera crew/utility person. Wireless RF person, ect. You can run an entire network, with no actors, provided you have enough video to play 24/7. That is were the film crews come into play. They can provide b-Roll for sports, News, Politics, special events, live coverage, taped events, parades, fesitivles, carnivals, bar parties, club parties, ect. Multiple film crews can give you tons of video. The B-roll will be kept for any news events.
They maybe buying shows or movies from independent people/agencies. They could have bought an entire 'show' for 50 grand. It all varies on who they bought from. However, it is not hard to film sporting events, I have worked in this field for a few years while I was in College. It is easy because many of the camera people, espically 'free lance' own THEIR own equipment. A 15 thousand dollar camera produces very good video. Many Free lancers I knew al owned their own equipment.
Don't under estimate these film crews...

Brandon, I agree with what Booty said about availability of borrowed material and new documentaries. Also, there is plenty of material that is not specific to the gay population that would work very well on QTV. There are plenty of "straight" (I actually mean non-gay) movies and shows that are like cult classics in the gay community. Things like John Water's movies, certain sitcoms, etc. Even the old stereotypical stuff like Joan Crawford, Judy Garland, .. It wouldn't be what they'd show forever, but it would certainly allow them to broadcast 24/7 while production revs up. Don't forget, the gay community is as diverse as the non-gay community. They'll need stuff for young and old, black and white, girly and manly, etc. There's plenty to get their hands on. They could also get away with using it without looking like they have no programming of their own. Show the older established stuff to establish a comfort zone for the new subscribers. They'll feel like they've been there all along and then slowly integrate new documentaries and shows. JMHO though... any thoughts?

FarmBoy, i hope you have free long distance. Or you're f--ked!
I have free LD, but not free mid-business day minutes! LOL... I hope Verizon Wireless has a sense of humor when I get my next bill. BTW, you've initiated one or two long calls too, you may want to do some praying before you open your bill too!

Comcast FAQ recommends the form linked below for requesting programming that's not currently in their line up. I used it a couple months back and just reused it today to let them know I'm still interested in getting Q.
