yeah I figured DRYS would be up today after such a down day yesterday. DRYS just seems too good to be down that much for too long

Last week I sold DRYS and just kept a few shares for long term profit.. I am going to start putting a few shares away from trades with profit for long term with good companies insted of taking all profit..I think we are getting near bottom with the market overall so I am setting up a small long term portfolio.. I dont want to say (wish I would have held some of that ) in a year or so..

Thinking of shorting 5,000 shares of LVLT at $1.14 and covering around $1.08. Hmmmm.....Nevermind.....Back at $1.07....could of made $300. Might ride back up.

Morpheus, thanks for the info. I am out today and tomorrow. Holding 66 shares of TNA * 34.95. Set limit sell at 36.00 but I don't think it made it. I am going to look over the info you gave me this weekend. I will be back Monday with free cash to invest.

Wish I had bought LVLT at $1.03 before I went back to bed. $1.29....
What can you do when your on 4 hours of sleep the past 2 days. Friday will be hard since I'll have my son.
FYI....I believe the retail sales numbers and unemployment #s come out Friday....so thinking a DOWN day on Friday.

Story of my life....I work at 11pm - 9/10am as a hotel manager and starting again in about 2 weeks I start school again taking 15 credits with classes mon-friday usually starting at 6pm-9pm. So basically the only time I get to sleep is from like 10am-4pm.....of course when the market is open. so basically I DON'T sleep haha. but screw it man, I'm done with school for good in May and I can sleep when I'm dead or retired.

Morning All, some anal-ist are saying that with anticipation on bad news the market has already built in a lot of the losses so it might not be as bad a drop as we think this morning.. But its hard to tell with the year we have had.I am thinking a red open and close near green or even today..JMHO

DRYS trading up over a $1 in pre market and TNA up .50 this morning pre market....One of the shows on CNBC last night where talking about the increase in ETF trading across the board starting this year as an indicator that more people are putting money back into the market now. That might be a small indicator that the market over all might be heading back up in the next few months..

Welcome to the board CC Which ETFs are you asking about? All ETFs are based on different markets so if you have a energy based ETF then it will follow that market not just the DOW.. There are ETFs on any sector there is. FAZ is a short fund based on the financial index..Not nessisarily the DOW or NASD or S&P.. Good to see new people here. Post in with any info you get..

Sorry ChumpChange I didnt read you post very well , I didnt notice you did refer to the sector they are based on.. I have wondered the same thing as well in the past .. I cant understand if it is volume in the sector that helps it go up or down as well . I have noticed that on ETFs if trading is low on the opposite side of that sector some times both sides of the ETFs can be up or down. I know that some days with FAS and FAZ both side will be up or down at the same time..If you do find an answer please post it here. I am assuming it has something to do with volume..

What was your name then? I'm also Bill2Drunk...been here since May 2002.
I have gotten away from my norm of holding stocks because we all had to change the ways based on the volitility in the markets. Its not like the good old days where I find stocks that lose 30-50% and buy them selling a month or so later making 20-60%.
Well, I knew it would be a down day and I do wonder myself on the ETFs...but they seem like the safest things now.
