Hey that sounds good. and good luck with the full time. The only thing I would change is to put stop losses on them once they reached 4 or 5 percent. Then keep increasing your stop losses if it continues to go up. (for stocks $1 and up)
I would hate to miss the ups that are sure to follow our massive downswing.
NOw is the time to capitalize.

Thanks. Off to a good start so far. Bougth ABK at ~3.26 and sold at 3.36 (though it's now at 3.56...). My plan is to remain discipined, buy only those stocks that I am very confident that they will go up at least enough for me to make a couple hundred bucks per trade, and if there are days when I don't make a single trade, then so be it. We'll see what happens, but I'm going into it feeling pretty confident.

Wish me luck.
As far as this program, I ran it over the weekend, and just looked at the last two weeks. There would have been 3 signals, and all 3 would have hit the 5% target. I will be running the program daily again.
Congrats, and...
Best of Luck, amigo!

I'm fine--except for the mortgage crooks I can't seem to get out of my life. Just found out some scammy lil bank has a lien on my place, even though I paid off the company who bought my note, paid in full btw.
Scammy lil bank was Lasalle, now owned by Bank of America...

Oh, it will get worked out, all right...I may have to tap dance on somebody's forehead, but it *will* get rectified. I found out this morning, and already have calls in to my attorney and BOA.

Had a computer issue a few minutes ago that cost me a few hundred bucks. I had an order in to buy 1000 shares of BC at 4.10. Saw it dropping at 4.30 and tried to pull my buy order, but my computer froze completely. Watched it drop as low as 3.80 and would have loved to have doubled up under $4.00, but I didn't get my computer rebooted for like 15 minutes. Just sold at $4.30 for another $200 before commission.
Having a nice day so far. Slow and steady is what I'm trying to do, with an occassional huge up day, of course

The program referenced in this thread is a hard and fast 5%. As I will have moer time now, I will run other scenarios to try to optimize my returns. Maybe 5% is the best, maybe a a trailng stop is the best, maybe some other sell rule is the best, but for now it's 5%.
The two trades that I made today are not in reference to my program, and perhaps I should start another thread for my non-program daytrades, to not cause confusion.

Thanks guys, and jo, it's not scary. I'm very lucky in many ways, and I have the support of my family and my in-laws if we get into any financial trouble, so I have a safety net in that respect to get us through any rough times. Also, I've had two pretty good paying jobs in my 9 years in the work force, so I am confident that if I fail at his, I will still be okay.
But it's darn good to be back.

Well, there was one for today, but I totally forgot to post it here. It was SWK, and I didn't buy because I was nervous about the overall market, but of course it hit the 5% target already, so I should have bought.

There are 2 new signals for today. KCI and CVH. Of the two, I'd probably go with CVH. Good luck if you decide to get in eaither.
Oh, and amusingly, TEX (the stock, not the person) is one that hit most of my criteria, but fell just short.

Hey and Ho and welcome back! It's good to hear you decided to pursue trading on your own. Seems like you have a solid approach, and may you be multiply successful
A word of warning, though.. I've tried this myself, and failed. Enough time passed so I can see more clearly why it didn't work. In my case, I had unrealistic expectations: I was hoping to live off of my savings, and learn trading so that I could make a living doing that. I put a lot of pressure on myself, and made all the mistakes until I ran out of money. The lesson learned was to have a steady footing, and approach trading lightly and with discipline. Not having to depend on trading for the day-to-day would allow all the time and flexibility to learn how to do it properly.
But it sounds like you've thought about all that and then some.. so, good to have you back!

Thanks. I am confident that I can do it, but am also realistic. I have a good support system in place, and I don't thikn I will be setting myself and my family back too much if I am not successful.
We'll see what happens though!

No new ones for today. ULTI hit 5% yesterday and I thought I sold at around $15, but it's still in my account, so I'm not sure if I never hit the final submit button or something. Oh well, guess I am still holding...

I've tried a bunch of different ways, but the 5% rule was nice and simple, and it seemed to work well. In fact, I screwed up my sell order the other day on ULTI, and so even though it hit my 5%, I never sold and now am holding at a loss... So I have like a $3,000 gain and now I'm down like $2,000.
See what happens when I deviate from my 5% rule?
