Standard & Poor's Ratings Services' decision to slash credit ratings on four mortgage insurers is not surprising and will not likely affect their ability to write additional business, a Friedman, Billings, Ramsey & Co. analyst said Wednesday.
. . .
We expect the stocks may be weak on the headline," Stelmach said. "However, the longer-term impact on fundamentals is not likely to be material, as long as the mortgage industry needs the mortgage insurance capacity."

That bounce in the morning on MTG was just the "jo effect" taking place, because I got stopped out at $11.45 right at the open. So even though I didn't get the extra spike, I still broke even and at least I'm not holding it now that it is down in the low 11's. Today was the "5 days" for me anyhow.

Out of SCS at 10.65 for just over a 6% loss. Although there was a .15 dividend, so really it's just under a 5% loss.
Last couple have not gone as well, but I'm comfortable that it will turn around soon.
