Man, I want a copy of that Marty Robbins show.
There's a segment in there--I forget the exact tune--but the bass rig had a diode or sumpin on the blink...the first fuzzy bass. And Marty said leave it! So cool. And then he's funny about in the "video" of the song. Later of course, The Doors and others would pick it up a la "psychedelia."

We weren't "best friends," but we were friendly and shared some great wins and a few defeats. As far as I know (because of Roxy), I printed/published the first Assiniboine-to-English textbooks, which were really "booklets." That is, more than pamphlets, but not really "textbooks" in the sense of hard-bound books. Still, was something to put in kids' hands...
You know, it really *is* about the song, the tune, the piece being played. Who wrote it, who first played it, etc...that's all cool for what it's worth and those interested. But the real deal is the tune itself.
