Chavez has done a wonderful thing for this country. We are going to sound more united. Watch what countries and their ideologies come to his side. Where was the reporters question about the freedom to speak as he has in our country, in HIS country.

Chavez: Imprison 'genocidal' Bush

 -
Hugo Chavez waves to supporters in London on Monday.

LONDON, England (CNN) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has accused George W. Bush of committing genocide and said the U.S. president should be imprisoned by an international criminal court.

The leftist leader made his remarks on Monday at a joint news conference with London Mayor Ken Livingstone after a reporter for the BBC likened some comments of his to Bush's phrase, first delivered shortly after the September 11 terrorist attacks, "You are either with us or against us in the fight against terror."

At that, Chavez erupted in anger about being "compared to the biggest genocide person alive, in the history of humanity, the president of the United States -- killer, genocidal, immoral -- who should be taken to prison by an international court. I don't know to what you are referring when you compare me to President Bush."

He added: "Have I invaded any country? Have Venezuelans invaded anything? Have we bombarded a city? Have we had a coup d'etat? Have we used the CIA to kill a president? Have we protected terrorists in Venezuela? That's Bush!"

The reporter then cited Chavez's critique of a previous question as "silly" for having motivated her question.

That original question, from CNN's Robin Oakley, asked whose decision it had been for Chavez not to include a visit with Prime Minister Tony Blair on his itinerary. During Chavez's first visit as head of state, five years ago, he was warmly received by Downing Street and Buckingham Palace.

Chavez derided the question as "silly" because, he said, the current visit is a private one, not a state visit.

He said he included people with whom he disagrees among his friends, and cited Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, a conservative, as one of them.

Iran warning
Separately, Chavez warned that an attack against Iran would cost the world's oil consumers dearly.

"If there was an attack against Iran, the price could go to $100" per barrel from the current level of about $70, he said.

"It will lead also to greater destabilization."

Published reports have said the United States has drawn up plans to attack Iran if Tehran fails to abandon its nuclear program. U.S. officials have said there are no specific plans to do so.

No country, Chavez said, "has the right the prohibit a country from having nuclear energy." He said he is sure that the Iranians are not working on a nuclear weapon, as U.S. officials have claimed.

"The Iranians, like us, want peace," he said.

Either way, he predicted, the energy crisis will deepen. He described capitalism as "extreme individualism," which is using up the world's non-renewable energy reserves at an alarming pace.

He said the twin towers of the World Trade Center consumed more energy than do some entire countries in Africa.

In addition, the fact that 90 percent of vehicles carry no more than one person is "a stupid thing," he said.

"Our planet will not put up with this," he said. "We're all in peril."

On Saturday, Chavez said he wanted to provide cheap heating oil for low-income Europeans.

The Venezuelan leader worked out a similar deal to deliver discount heating oil this past winter to needy Americans in parts of the eastern United States.

"I'd like to do the same here in Europe," he said Saturday evening at a gathering in Vienna of activists and representatives of social movements and non-governmental groups, according to Reuters. (Full story)

In Washington, the U.S. State Department on Monday added Venezuela to the list of countries "not fully cooperating" with counterterrorism efforts.

I'm not a religious zealot, it figures you'd label me like that. I am a christian. Do I have to bring the dictionary out again?

I don't need validation, I've read Revelations. And it looks like we are following along those lines. Called observation.

Ah heck, we all have ammo, one way or the other. I'm not going to be ashamed of my beliefs and I'm not shoving it down anyone's throats, I am giving my opinions as everyone here is. My mind is not clouded by rumors and falsehoods. I do make valid observations and my direction of thought, you can't call it wrong based on my beliefs, would you? I'd say if you disagree it's based on opinions, not on ravings. I might have been ranting but I wasn't raving.... [Confused]

there are those to believe it was written about Rome. In reading ALL of revelations, it could not have been written about Rome. This has already been debated. Babaylon was not powerful and rerisen as stated in Revelations during Rome's empire. It was not rich and powerful and all seeking to make money from her at that time.

GONG back at you

Babaylon is suppose to be (according to revelatons) reborn, and then crushed to oblivion, not a living thing living there for many many years. Again, according to revelations.

Hey look, I'm not going to agrue about a book you haven't read. Believe what you want, right or wrong about the book Revelations. It's called freedom of choice. If you want the answers, just read it. dang this can go on forever and I might as well read it to you, been through this type of dialog before and I'm not doing the reading for you. But it's darn obvious you haven't read it and are only mimicing what you've HEARD about it. Hmmm, me thinks that is how you get info, from rumors and the word of other people.

It's talking about spiritual Babaylon, not the literal babaylon.

Revelations can't be over, it's about the End Times and the Second Comming of Christ. The symbols in Revelation are in Daniel. The Dragon is the Satan.

Here is a link for symbols in prophecy. Daniel is one of the most important books to understand revelation.

Prophecy, schmofecy. The only truth in the prophecies are how different people/cultures interpret them according to their "bible". Unfortunately there are sects out there right now who feel they have been called upon to fulfill them. It's a self fulfilling idealism that actually could wreak havoc on the world. It's got nothing to do with the trumpet in the sky though. The Rapture and Tribulation is akin to an Aesop's fable. I hate to admit it but I've read the entire Left Behind series of books. They're ridiculous.

Finally a skeptic that is educated on the matter!

Well I feel that the mass interpretation of a coded book can be debunked on the fact alone that if one piece/word/symbol was interpreted wrong it could change the course of events through out the entire book

example:
• Serpent = Satan Revelation 12:9; 20:2
• Tongue = Language / Speech Exodus 4:10
• Wolf = Disguised Enemies Matthew

Lets say wolf was interpreted wrong and it actually means...uhhhhhhh FRIGGEN WOLF!!

get my drift?

How many prophets or prophecies in the Bible do you know?

The left behind series is all fiction, not based on the bible. There is no secret rapture. When Jesus said he will come like a thief in the night, he meant unexpectingly. He says, when he comes every eye will see him. And the tribulation is before he comes. There is no second chance like the series teaches. But Gods people will be protected from the plagues, like at passover.

Well of course they're fiction, they certainly haven't come to pass now have they. Based on my limited knowledge of the authors though, they're supposed to be two biblical scholars and the books are their interpretation of the events that will unfold in the near future. Have you read them?

That's a good point. In the the visions of Daniel, at first he didn't understand. Actually he fainted during the vision. Then later the angel explained the vision and symbols to him. Most of the prophecies and symbols the angels explain. The king of babylon didn't understand his vision, so Daniel inturpretted it for him. If you compare scripture with scripture it's right there. Remember these prophets were from different countries, times, and languages, and the books are all in harmony together. Same God and angels giving the visions.

Biblical Scholars wouldn't right those books. I don't know where he gets those ideas from, Jesus is clear about everything.
