The bird stamp ain't *that* big a deal: I grew up hunting here, and I can't explain all the new junk without studying the pamphlet...fees for public-lands, waivers for this, extra for that, new seasons on squirells (squirells! jeeminy...); white-wing dove in areas we never had em...etc etc...
But a pellet near the heart? as glass said, that ain't what we would call getting "peppered."
Somebody asked why do we care?
doh! second-in-command...what if he "accidentally" orders a strike... against allies? against our own troops? etc etc...

Yeah, ignoring the requirement of having the bird stamp is too a big deal when it's ignored by one of a cadre of arrogants that also ignore the laws passed by congress and signed by a sitting president and also provisions of the Constitution, claiming that Executive privilege gives them the right to ignore the law.

i think it was the hunt managers fault on the stamp... Cheney shouldn't have to worry about getting his licenses in order, he's too busy trying to figure out how to catch osambinalivetoolong..
accidents do happen...
the problem is saying stuff like it's Harry Whittingtons fault for not announcing himself,
or saying it was a minor thing, when anybody familiar with weapons knows a shotgun blast at even 90 feet can be fatal... birdshot or buck? with a scattergun it's still luck....
face it, Cheney has done one arrogant thing after another... started off right away with the Secret Eneron er i mean Energy meetings...
i still can't figure out how a guy 30 yards BEHIND the hunting line gets hit by anybody of normal height shooting at a flying bird.... statistics may lie, but geometry don't...
we'll never know for sure...
It's 'Cheney's Law' in Albany, But He Wouldn't Claim It By MICHAEL COOPER Published: February 15, 2006 A bill in New York State that would make it a felony to leave the scene of a hunting accident has been christened "Cheney's Law" by several Republican senators.

solid summation...I'll leave it at that--still wish either Hunter Thompson or Sam Kinnison were alive, though...

Well I did not know that Cheney had a habit of tipping the bottle a little bit now I no why they delayed things for 24hrs to let our vp sober up IMHO

You got it it very well could get ugly the cover your ass ground work is already being layed. You can see they way they were slowing down the reporting and keeping Cheney out of the public eye. Who really knows what happened out there. Could be just a mistake or could have had a disagreement. Cheney himself says he is a background guy out of site that gets things done his way and is not a people person. Likes it that way as he gets his way those types are very dangerous if you have a different point of view. They believe for the most part in elimination. IMHO

Nope, Glass...., I usually reserve such a description as "people person" for someone that atleast shows some "human" compassion for something other than the mighty dollar and huge corporations. In other words, I want them to be at least concerned with people.

Not good, VP Cheney states that he had a beer before going hunting....
Even having alcohol mentioned by the VP will certainly add fire to the flames of doubt...
Now the 24 hr time period between the shooting and having the Blood test, only makes the whole situation worse..
Damn these guys, they just can't keep they're collective chit together on anything. Keystone Cops.!
Thank God this country can function so well, INSPITE OF these idiot politicians..And I mean Democrats and Republicans.! The Hell with the whole bunch of the Blooming Nitt Witts.
