Yeah that was the only thing that sucked today. I was kind of hoping for a shut out at that point, as unlikely as that was.

I am just amazed Seattle held Smith to that few yards. And Hasselbeck played an almost flawless game. Don't forget player #12!! To hear my wife tell it they could almost here me cheering up there!! Tooo Coool.

what bums me--only a little, lol--is the Da Boys played all four of these teams the past 2 seasons: beat Carolina, and lost to the other 3 by a combined total of 10 points...

I hope Da Boys do well next year, Drew Bledsoe played for Walla Walla High School when I was at Walla Walla College.

I think they're close...much closer to being "real" than this year's record indicates

Super Bowl Countdown

For the past few years, my son and I work up a coupla poster boards' full of proposition bets that we post at the local joint; 10 bucks a head, winner(s) take all; that is, any who tie split the pot. Here's our questions this year, if ya wanna play along or use in your area:

  1. Which team wins coin toss?
  2. Which receives?
  3. Which gets first 1st down?
  4. Does either team score on its opening drive?
  5. Which team completes first pass?
  6. Which scores first?
  7. Which commits first penalty?
  8. Which uses first challenge?
  9. Will either team score in last two minutes of first half?
  10. Which has most first downs in the first half?
  11. Which team completes most passes in the first half?
  12. Which team commits (loses) the first turnover?
  13. Does either get 2 consecutive scores? (TD, FG, Safety--*not* PAT)
  14. Does either defense score?
  15. Which teams makes more field goals?
  16. Team with longest play from scrimmage?
  17. More interceptions, or lost fumbles?
  18. More passing yard--Ben or Matt?
  19. More passing completions--SEA or PITT?
  20. More rushing yards--SEA or PITT?
  21. Which player wins MVP?
  22. Does team who scores last win the game?
  23. Which team gets more sacks?
  24. Game goes to overtime?
  25. WHO WINS !?!?!!!!

It's pretty fun; every year, more peeps sign up...

Jimminy!

quote:
da boyz sucked
or sumpin to that effect...

but ya, 1 game: 9-7 v 10-6

playing what if ("beat up hard") da Boyz keep Flozell Adams and finish 12-4, not a real stretch of the imagination...

my original was da Boyz are *much* better than before Parcell's came; hence my post about playing Seattle, Pitt, Denver, and Carolina with one win and losses less than 10 points combined.

Nice PCola, Gotta love it when your quarterback is carving up the opposing secondary for 3 scores and your #1 WR delivers on the same night...Reggie Wayne and Joseph Addai were studs on Thursday as well...I'm still trying to decide on Leinert at San Fran or Brady at NYJ...The safe bet is Brady but Leinert could be a monster on Sunday...Oh the decisions...lol

BTW...I can't wait to watch Penn State welcome Jimmy Clausen to Division 1A tonight...

ND is that bad. The offense is terrible and conservative. Throwing waaaaaay tooo many screen and swing oasses instead of opening up the field. Painful to watch

TCU played well in the first half. Texas dominated the 2nd half shutting down TCU and holding them to one FG

Don't know if anyone watched it but talk about gut wrenching on the final series. Gonna have to look for a few more gray hairs tomorrow. Got the over at 46 on the second game, SanFran and Arizona. Playing with the bookies money now though so I can relax a bit.

I have Todd Heap in my fantasy league. THe first TD to him that they nullified for offensive pass interference was a TERRIBLE call by the refs. Then Boller hit him right in the chest and he missed it. I ended up winning my fantasy ganme regardless, but that was indeed a crazy ending! Glad you came out on the plus side.

Daaaaa...Whos!
Yall gone and made 'em switch Q.B.s...
They're going with, Brian, "it ain't easy being" Griese.
As, Rex, "My game is just" Grossman, is on his way out.

Griese's a pretty good Q.B., just can't stay healthy. He was on a super bowl team in his rookie season, he got to learn under Elway in Denver.
