The first PR from today mentions "new financing". However, other than naming where the financing was coming from, there was no mention of how much is being financed, nor what the terms of this "new financing" might be...
quote:TORONTO--(MARKET WIRE)--Sep 7, 2007 -- Blackout Media Corp.'s (Other OTC:BKMP.PK - News) The Fight Network -- the world's first "all fights-all the time!" combatant sports and entertainment channel -- announced today that new financing has been injected into the company by Mayhem Media Corp., led by Loudon Owen, chairman of McLean Watson Capital, and Ed Nordholm, media industry advisor and financier.
George Burger, most recently the leader of Spotlight Television Inc.'s bid to introduce competition into the premium Pay TV market in Canada, and formerly Executive Vice President of Alliance Communications Corp.(later Alliance-Atlantis Communications Ltd.), has been named President and Chief Executive Officer.
"Mayhem Media Corp."? I can't find anything using Google about a "Mayhem Media Corp.".
However, if you search "Media Mayhem Corp." you get this website:
quote:McLean Watson’s scope of operations extends to the international arena. MW is stage independent, investing in North America and the Far East, in companies from seed to later-stage. Typical deal sizes range between $1 million - $5 million, and up to $15 million over the life of the investment.

Wouldn't it be amazing if a big part of that volume was the buyback. Next week should be very interesting as we may find out more about this deal. Some think it may be part of the buyout since Mayhem Media Corp is financing some of TFN and Loudon Owen and Ed Nordholm will play a leadership role in TFN.
All those in that still think this is a POS, just set your sell to .0001 and you will be replaced. Those bashers that don't own and claim to not be a paid basher, just quietly leave and find another bottom stock to bash as your comments don't hold water anymore. Any remaining bashers must be the paid bashers, so we'll know who you are and will just ignore your wimping opinion.

Oh wow yeah and then Elvis will like visit and world peace will happen and people will be happy and we can like all sing kumbaya! But I mean I kinda got off topic because this stock ROCKS, man! 30 billion? I bet they issued more cause everyone wanted some, and they're Aquarians who like to like share!

It would be great if it was the beginning of a company buyback...as far as a buyout though....a lot of shares are still withstanding...I agree with you TopRob (NOT the first time), this stock MAY prove to be very interesting in the next week....Good luck to those of you involved, but as I said earlier....far too many shares out there and the risk seems higher than some other Micro stocks that I could be investing in.

I think this fight stuff is just far to popular for this company not to make it .
Boxing , mixed martial arts , wrestling . It's all going through the roof now . People for some reason eat this up . They love fighting in all forms as far as entertainment .
We still have the big question of a possible buyout and buy back of shares . If that alone happens ...... WATCH OUT PEOPLES ....
But they seem to have some pretty decent knews showing up as well .

Yeah, too many dog lovers now, so all those dog fight lovers will have to turn to something else now that's more acceptable, like people fights. So TFN is on the right path.

Do you live in bizarro world or something? NO ONE watched boxing anymore, WWE has had half of their "athletes" die under the age of 40, and no one watches it anymore either. Going through the roof? I'll give you MMA, becuase it is getting extremely popular, but your other two examples were poor at best.
AS for the stock itself, here's my "bash". THe NFL, which is the most popular sport in America BY FAR, tried to play hardball with cable companies to get the NFL Network as a standard channel, and guess what, no one cared enough about it to call their cable company, so now you have ot pay extra to get it. In other words, "too popular not to make it" is a bit of an overstatment, if the NFL network has a hard time.

PlayTV UK Gets Global Broadcast Rights for the Fight Network
Sep 11, 2007 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX News Network) -- Blackout Media Corp.'s Blackout announced that British broadcaster, PlayTV UK, has signed a contract for the distribution rights to The Fight Network of Canada, a 24 hour, combat sports channel.
The deal utilises UK-based Global Digital Broadcast's (GDB) IPTV management platform and advanced engineering, making it possible to stream The Fight Network content out of Toronto, Canada and to a global audience of 'fight fans.'
The eight new PlayTV/The Fight Network channels include one 24/7 live stream and seven specialist channels, featuring mixed martial arts from the USA, the UK, Canada and Japan. Content is available as live, scheduled, video-on-demand (VoD) and pay-per-view (PPV).
"We are very excited to be carried on this cutting-edge platform developed by PlayTV," said George Burger, President & CEO of The Fight Network. "Our strategic priority is to expand The Fight Network brand around the world on all platforms to reach every fight fan, everywhere, at anytime. The technology that PlayTV and its partners have developed enable specialty services like ours that have a unique sports content package and huge fan appeal to reach them in ways that were not available just a couple of years ago. Broadband delivery is the future, and the future is here with PlayTV."
James Thompson, director of PlayTV UK, says: "We knew GDB could take PlayTV global and our imminent launch is made all the more exciting with deals of this stature. It is certainly a great accolade for a British platform to be hosting eight channels from the world's leading MMA and combatant sports network."
Global Digital Broadcast is demonstrating PlayTV UK at the CIMA Technology, at the IBC2007, RAI Exhibition and Congress Centre, Amsterdam, September 7-11.

Fight Network flexing muscle GRANT ROBERTSON
MEDIA REPORTER
September 7, 2007
The Fight Network, Canada's most pugilistic television channel, is plotting an international expansion that will make it a rarity inside the business - a domestic cable network exported elsewhere in the world.
Executives are looking to sell the Toronto-based network in several global markets over the next few months, starting with Britain, to capitalize on the popularity of mixed martial arts fighting - a lucrative force in the entertainment industry.
Industry veteran George Burger is expected to be named chief executive officer today, the first stage of an expansion that will see the small startup injected with new capital, with an eye to an eventual public offering.
Mr. Burger, a former executive with Alliance Communications who helped launch the History Channel, comes to the job after losing a bid to start a new pay-TV service in Canada. He was blocked last year when federal regulators awarded the licence to rival Allarco Entertainment of Edmonton.
Yesterday, Mr. Burger said he is prepared for his next battle. The channel is looking to negotiate carriage deals or partnerships with cable and satellite operations in several countries, including the U.S., over the next few years.
Launched in 2005, The Fight Network has enjoyed the rising popularity of mixed martial arts on TV. With an undisclosed injection of cash from Louden Owen, chairman of McLean Watson Capital Inc., and financier Ed Nordholm, Mr. Burger said the channel recently topped 400,000 subscribers in Canada.
Though the network also airs boxing and wrestling, the popularity of mixed martial arts matches on TV has meant the sport is now taking audience share from channels running boxing and wrestling.
There are few channels operating similar services outside Canada, Mr. Burger said. Though U.S. networks HBO and Showtime dominate the boxing world, and channels such as Spike show wrestling and mixed martial arts, he thinks there is a global market for a 24-hour fight network.
The network is not yet profitable. Last year, it had revenue of $538,000, but registered a pretax loss of $2.9-million. That gap has since narrowed, Mr. Nordholm said. Bringing The Fight Network into new markets should make the channel profitable, he added.
