Something is definitely cooking in the Eastern Division. It might be very big.

They are talking about it on IHUB too and are even saying the WHA should abandon Osoyoos because things are going too well for them to stay in a town that loses money for hockey franchises.

Otown, All I have to say is LOL * U. Now listen carefully, no one gives 2 sh-ts about Osoyoos. In fact I have personally told smith that I couldnt care less if WHA doesnt play there next year. WHA didnt get fan support there so F Osoyoos. WTH should WHA play in a loser market? It doesnt have to, so take your crappy facility and stick it up your arse. we dont care. Stay tuned to news. !!!!!!!!

Hockey is a big money maker in the Eastern part of Canada. The GMHL makes money and it is a small outlaw league. The western part of Canada and the US is insignificant compared to the Ontario and Quebec provinces and the Northeastern US.. If the WHA gets going in the East, we as shareholders are in 100 times better shape.

Do you know that the Quebec province alone has over 1400 hockey rinks? lol

Smith evidently thinks Osoyoos can be turned around with the new teams coming in and the rivalries created by the French teams and the US teams swinging through. Plus I guess he thinks the Olivar-Osoyoos rivalry could make it happen. But you might be right. Screw that little borough.

I think they should let the WHA play there for free and the city and local businesses should pick up the tab. It's going to be a real bummer for that town to have nothing next year while everyone else has good hockey being played on Friday and Saturday nights.

the oliver v osoyoos games would be great to see. Fact is Olover is a much better venue,

Smith should tell osoyoos that not only should they give WHA the icce time for free, Osoyoos should PAY the WHA to have field a team in that pathetic little town

The World Hockey Association Reports the Montreal Nordiques Join the WHA Junior A Hockey League as Part of Its New Eastern Division
Monday June 4, 12:03 pm ET

VANCOUVER, BC--(MARKET WIRE)--Jun 4, 2007 -- The World Hockey Association (Other OTC:WHKA.PK - News) reported this morning that the Montreal Nordiques have joined the WHA Junior A League's Eastern Division as its newest franchise for the upcoming 2007-2008 season.

"This is a great day for twenty (20) young hockey players between the ages of 15-20 who will have the opportunity to become a part of history," said the Nordiques' team owner Gary Gaul.

The Montreal Nordiques are expected to be one of at least seven to nine new franchises in the WHA's newly established Eastern Division. WHA league officials anticipate the WHA will have up to three franchises in and around Montreal, one in Quebec City, and three to five more located in the Northeastern United States.

WHA CEO Ricky Smith commented, "The Montreal Nordiques embody the essence of what the WHA Junior A League is all about; developing great student athletes and preparing them to become productive members of society. Having a quality program with great ownership will benefit not only the WHA but all the student athletes involved with the league and the Montreal organization."

An official press conference will take place at the Quality Suites Hotel in Pointe-Claire, located at 6300 Trans-Canada Highway in late June 2007. The Montreal Nordiques owner Gary Gaul and defensemen Michael Oldrich, will represent the Nordiques Franchise at the press conference. Ricky Smith, CEO of the World Hockey Association, WHA Junior A League officials, and former WHA greats will be in attendance representing the WHA. A highlight of the press conference is expected to find the Nordiques announcing their season plans and revealing their home and away jerseys.

World Hockey Association CEO Ricky Smith to Be Interviewed Live on SubPennyRadio on June 7th
Jun 5, 2007 12:11:00 PM

VANCOUVER, BC -- (MARKETWIRE) -- 06/05/07 -- The World Hockey Association (PINKSHEETS: WHKA) is pleased to announce Ricky Smith, President and CEO of the WHA, will be reappearing live on SubPennyRadio on Thursday evening at 8:30 PM Eastern.

Smith's first two interviews with SubPennyRadio in February and April of 2007 received enthusiastic shareholder and hockey fan response. Recap of the WHKA interview taken from TheSaint's posts on HSM:

Smith said more teams coming in soon!
New operations guy from Pittsburg has joined the WHA!
Expect a lot of new players from Europe! Butch Goring bringing them in!

New Teams must have good home arenas to qualify.

Operations capabilities very important. Ownership group must have proven themselves with the past operation of the franchise.

28th of June will determine the cut-off for entry into the league.

At least 4 to 6 new teams are expected that have not yet been announced.

The Hockey Academies which have joined the league are very special entries!

Another big Hockey Academy is joining from the Eastern US. Will be announced in the next couple of days.

145 qualified players have responded for the Michigan Summer Camp.

Over 200 qualified applicants for the Texas Camp. Probably will go with 125

More Camps in Upstate New York now expected.

Upstate New York teams to be announced soon!

Advertising in Hockey News for players.

Talking to local coaches in their home areas for players. Some local coaches making recommendations for their best players to play for WHA

Two to three camps to be scheduled now for Quebec.

More teams expected from NORPAC!

Bay City Transfer much more professional than Continental. Smith believes that as of only today, Continental finally released records to Bay City. They have been dragging their feet and had not been cooperative.

Smith insinuates Briner Goons destroyed the stock price since the 7th of June of 2006. The destruction began immediately.

Smith sounds awesome tonight! He is very confident about the lawsuit!

The Briner Goon damage numbers are staggering!

Smith: The amounts of the damages should be far greater than anyone imagines!

Briner wants 200,000. WHA says the damages would not be settled for anything less than 45 million!

Attorney charges by the hour. WHA does not want a contingency fee relationship.

Share Structure 306 million: Issued shares to meet Legal obligations.

Expects revenue from beverage and ticket sales!

Ticket sales, beverage sales, expansion fees, monthly dues, (league dues 1300 to 1500 per month per team)

Web casting deal coming! My contact from the North was right!

WHA games on TV.

He said without the illegal shares issued by Briner Group Goons the real outstanding would only be 206 million shares!

WHKA should be breakeven by the beginning of the season!

Year two (this year) should be profitable!

Not just shooting for breakeven in year two. They think they will make money!

More big name hockey guys coming in to help.

Simon just told Smith that he is "a breath of fresh air" That he has delivered on promises better than any Pink Sheet company or Bulletin Board company he has ever had on the show!

New accounting firm is in Ontario. They have changed everything from the Briner Goon days.

Hockey taking priority over the new website. It will be an interactive website when completed. Expected completion date now in July.

TV deal probably coming! Above and beyond the webcasting arrangements! Two weeks ago a broadcaster from Ontario approached them!

That was Smith's best interview ever. We got more great information from this one than any of the past interviews.

Two different television interests looking to broadcast the games and the webcast is a very smart move! --Simon's recap.
