Experimental Meters Give Consumers Real-Time Bill Information
Bob Birkmaier has an experimental Pacific Gas and Electric meter that shows real time information about his bill while he uses energy.

When Pacific Gas and Electric Co. asked Bob Birkmaier to sign up for a new electricity metering system in exchange for financial incentives, he agreed. Two years later, the utility is poised to offer the same opportunity to millions of customers across the Golden State.
As a figurative guinea pig in a statewide research project, the Merced general contractor was among 2,500 Californians offered a plan that allowed him to take advantage of prices that vary by time of day.
"What it does is motivates people to look at that," Birkmaier said, pointing to the electric meter.
The utility can track power consumption patterns at his five-bedroom, ranch-style home on Hatch Road through an "advanced" meter.
It relays the information in real time back to PG&E via radio waves and transmission lines.
Birkmaier said his bill dropped from about $350 to $250 a month after enlisting in the pilot program.
Besides paying lower rates on nights and weekends, he was more conscious of his energy consumption during peak hours -- especially on summer days when rates are at their highest. Peak hours are generally 2 to 7 p.m.
He opted to use clotheslines instead of the dryer and turned down his air conditioner.
Displaying color-coded bills at his home office, he showed graphs that listed pricing based on time of day.
According to the bill, he paid 8 cents per kilowatt hour for off-peak hours, 15 cents for peak hours and 42 cents for super-peak hours.
Super-peak hours are determined by PG&E when energy supplies are critically low and blackouts most likely.
The program was designed to encourage customers to shift electricity use to off-peak hours when power is cheaper.
It also helps utilities slash costs by eliminating hundreds of meter reader jobs.
Eventually, PG&E wants to install 9.3 million advanced meters, which would allow its customers to monitor their electricity and gas consumption online.
The Merced Irrigation District -- which provides electricity for about 6,000 customers in Eastern Merced County -- already offers such a service for its largest customers, said Jem Brown, assistant general manager of business and resource planning.
If it clears regulatory approval in June, PG&E's plan will send 800 meter readers the way of the milkman within six years.
Paul Moreno, a PG&E spokesman, said some meter readers will be offered other jobs within the company. Others will be eligible for severance packages through their union contracts, he said.
Moreno said customer benefits include speeding up power restoration during outages by enabling the utility to better pinpoint and analyze outages.
The variable rate plan that Birkmaier participated in would be voluntary, Moreno said.
The California Public Utilities Commission, which has final say on approval, did not return calls seeking comment

I am no expert as anyone can tell, but regardless of the enormous hole that I am now in I will continue to hold. I don't normally get stuck holding the bag because I usually keep a rule of selling at a 8% loss but for some reason my gut tells me that this has a very bright near future. I just wish I knew how near... lol I guess if I knew that though I would be a very wealthy man.
Anyhow, I just thought by posting I could offer some relief to those others that hold, so they don't feel they are alone.
..To a massive green streak in our near future! GLTA!

Hey Bear, haven't there been issues before with stocks posted on one of the German stock exchanges without the company even knowing it? I'm not sure how reliable an indicator that exchange is....

Also, Alek, I think everyone here appreciates your DD. However, please use your best discretion in your current endeavor. CNES has made it known in past MRs that over-zealous shareholders have jeapordized contracts, contacts, etc from bugging the hell out of certain people. I'm not saying you are doing this, but the last thing we need is for the utilities to get pissed off because those people in the pilot are getting pestered all the time for info. That said, good luck.

Where do you guys see this going before a massive sell-off occurs? Do you think that CNES can match or beat USXP's recent run-up of 600% ?

So, if you are a basher, please leave, and as for pumpers, there really are not any in here. The pumpers here are only giving facts about the charts. Can't blame'em.
So, no more drama. That is why I left the QBID thread, too many poeple trying to be smart.
P>S. I still have not heard from anyone in Valencia. But the moment I do, PM will go out.
PM me if you have time! thanks
