Universal Express said its USXP Capital subsidiary has developed a nationwide van and truck leasing program for small businesses. The program will provide private postal stores and small-business operators access to the same fleet pricing, finance programs, and related services as major national logistics firms are offered. All trucks and vans leased will be branded with Universal Express' logo and lessees will have the option to place their own signage on these vehicles as well, the company said.
New York City-based USXP said its program consists of a 5.5% APR commercial lease of up to 60 months with no restrictions, access to fleet pricing, and nationwide courtesy delivery. Vans and trucks are available from all three domestic manufacturers - General Motors, Ford Motor Co., and Chrysler - along with 45-minute application processing and fleet maintenance options, USXP said.

As per the Saudi general public...there is no definitive proof that they are or aren't investing, but what is known is that Mohammed Bassami,a Saudi investor, has already pumped 40 million into USXP...I would imagine he has a freind or two who may be influenced by a successful investors belief in a foriegn companyy..We shall see..but until I hear otherwise, I will continue to be positive about their involvement...

Khalil Hanware, Arab News
JEDDAH, 5 March 2006 — Saudi stocks continued to plunge yesterday as jittery retail investors poured in more selling orders that found few buyers.
The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) declined 4.92 percent to close at 17,576.49 points, down 909.75 points from Thursday’s close. The index has lost over 3,000 points in six trading days. The index, in fact, reached an all-time high of 20,634.86 on Feb. 25 this year. The index is still up 5.17 percent so far this year.
The stock market turnover was much lower at SR7.71 billion yesterday as stocks of all 78 listed companies were in the red with trading focusing on blue chips such as Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC), Saudi Telecom Company (STC), Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC) and smaller firms Makkah Construction and Bank Albilad. The heavyweight Industrial and Banking Indexes lost over 2,000 points each yesterday.
“Small retail investors are panicking and are driving down a market which is in desperate need of direction or intervention by funds to limit the losses,” a senior trader said.
Salim J. Ghalayini, a Riyadh-based financial consultant, told Arab News: “Investment observers are aware of the recent increase in volatility on the Saudi stock market. Of course, there has been more downward sessions lately than positive sessions. Although the solid fundamentals of the Saudi market have not changed, they have been overshadowed by investor sentiment and panic.”
He added that “unfortunately most small investors follow the advice of their friends and families, and whenever one is worried one sends a panic wave around that increases the offloading of stocks.”
Ghalayini said another major contributor to the sell-off is the unique IPO (initial public offering) environment of the Saudi market. “With high liquidity as against limited opportunities and small number of listed companies, share prices of IPO companies are unnaturally high. The high share prices cannot be justified or supported by the respective companies’ performance.”
“Soon after IPO, many investors dump their shares to reap quick profit. This cycle sends waves which push individual stock prices and the market downward. When investors are worried the effect is magnified.
“In spite of this, I see a positive reward in the above correction. It reduces the possibility of forming a market bubble which is normally followed by a burst or downward spiral of prices,” Ghalayini said.
Riyad Bank’s Chief Economist and Vice President Khan Zahid said while all regional bourses were taking a hit, the Saudi bourse was hit the worst “after a relentless climb that many thought will never end.” “This race backward is likely to continue, with occasional pullbacks, as the market attempts to find its fundamentals with small and recent investors likely to take bigger hits,” he said.

Well after the research that I have done show me that this company is going to prosper. With the new acquisition of airnet going through and some of the richest people in the world backing the company and giving tips on expanding such as the buying of an oil company in Florida. Plus what if there program expands and the airlines and hotels and travel agencies start to use there product they have a massive market that has been nearly untouched. I worked for TSA as a screener for 2 years and believe me people are not happy about Screeners going through all there luggage. Also for example I will use Philippine airlines while I worked at LAX Los angels Airport in the Tom Bradley international terminal this is what I observed. Just about every family that was flying back to the Philippine’s did not have luggage!!!! They had Boxes and I mean boxes that you put 32" TV sets in and they had at the lest 5. Now the airline of course charges these people for these bags not only because there over the size limit but also because there over the weight limit. Just imagine if these families started using USXP services. They would save money the airlines would save money because I have seen with my own eyes the Philippine 747 just barely making it off the ground. Think about it.
*While working for the TSA In the bussiest Terminal possible in the world the TOM BRADELY TERMINAL over half of the airlines have passangers taking what you could consider cargo on the plane. Think about this these people are not taking vacation they are merchants and family members brining supplies back to there under developed countries everyday for 2 and a half years i have observed this. Also TSA has one of the nations Highsest injury reports I injured my back working there 2 twice this program would also cut down on government expenses. PLUS YES IT IS TRUE SCREENERS STEAL OUT OF YOUR BAGS I HAVE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES ! this would cut down on theft also.

Art - spent most of the weekend checking on Al Bassami related to USXP and couldn't find anything more recent than Decemeber 2004 (with exception of a March 2005 rehash of the story) see below links. They refer to contracts for future funding, but I can't find anything where it was followed through. Do you have any more recent information or links. I am holding USXP but unwilling to sink more in it without a little more solid info than rumors of more Saudi money any help?

IMO this will trade more or less sideways until the anticpated 'news' is posted. But if it does move down significantly, that could make it a good candidate for buying in or averaging down. As sensitive as it has been to any 'positive' news, it will take off if and when that positive 'news' is posted.
