I have two accounts with a local bank that I set up when my nephews were born. They each have a couple thousand dollars in them and they are only earning a .75 (yes, that's cents) interest rate.....not acceptable.

I want to set them up with accounts that I can purchase stock in for larger gains over the long term, but I know there are special rules and regulations regarding these types of accounts. I guess I'm just looking for some advice as to how to handle the situation.

Oh yeah, if it wasn't obvious, I'm the custodian on the accounts until the boys are either 18 or 21 (I can't remember the age of majority that I set up)

You would want to talk too a finacial planner at best. They will help you with that and the tax's too.

I would go to a AGEdwards and talk too them there. They are pretty good with that. Plus here is something too read up on now.

Tech: funny you mention sharebuilder, I was just checking them out [Smile]

Mostly it's the legality of things I need to check out. I'm not supposed to do anything with the money unless it's for the benefit of the child. But I would assume there would be ways to transfer that money to different accounts. I just haven't found anything solid as of yet.

At least til Tues., Ameritrade posted my transfer at 4:00 so no buying for me today BUT I have my order in for another 27,000 shares. This will put me over 100,000. Just enough for that new Chevy Tahoe I have been looking at. [Big Grin]

Good deal, DOG! I scheduled my ACH this past Tuesday. It showed up in my account on Wednesday, but there is a 5 day hold period for OTCBB stocks. So I don't think mine will be available until Wed/Thurs.

Whether we rock and roll before I get a chance to buy more makes no difference. I'll be happy either way [Smile]

Last word I got, Friday, was that they are working on PRs, plural. Not real certain on the exact timing, it/they have to go to the lawyer for approval.

Anyone experienced in penny stocks, what is the target for this one if a good PR comes out? I'm in small at 0.034 (only penny stock I've dared to invest in so far lol), but not sure when to get out
