H5N1 bird flu found in wild birds in central Canada font size ZoomIn ZoomOut
Wild birds in Canada's central province of Manitoba have tested positive for a low-pathogenic subtype of the H5N1 avian flu virus, a health official said on Saturday.
The strains are from the family of North American H5N1 viruses, not the forms circulating in Southeast Asia, said Dr. Brian Evans, chief veterinary officer at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency ( CFIA).
"I want to emphasize that the H5N1 subtype detected in Manitoba is completely distinct from the strain currently present in Asia," said Evans
"From a genetic perspective, there are significant strain differences in their structure," he said.
In addition, officials isolated an H5N3 subtype in two birds from Quebec, as part of a cross-country surveillance program to find what avian flu viruses are being carried by wild ducks in this country.
"Finding only low pathogenic avian influenza means that these viruses would cause only mild disease, if any at all, if introduced into domestic birds," Evans said.
Meanwhile, a commercial farm in British Columbia's Fraser Valley remains under quarantine after a duck was found infected with a strain of H5 bird flu on Friday.
North American H5N1 viruses have so far proven to be much milder viruses than their distant Asian counterparts, avian influenza experts say.
"We've got 32 years of surveillance work that says these North American strains in wild birds in the past have never been a threat," Dr. Richard Slemons, an avian influenza expert at Ohio State University, told The Canadian Press.
"Does that mean they won't be a threat in the future? No it does not. But history says they aren't a risk," he said.
The Asian H5N1 viruses, which are highly pathogenic, have infected 130 people in five countries since 2003 and 67 of those people have died.

Yep it was great news. Hopefully we get earning news from the Restaurants. Investors want earnings and profit news. Until then rshn is at the mercy of MMs.

Joe, In the MSEP/Nascar thread you asked my opinion of RSHN. In an attempt to keep things "organized" I'll respond here.
My knowledge of RSHN is limited to their 10/25/05 major PR and the run it had that day. News of a reverse split is news to me and i was unable to locate the ratio or the effective date for the reverse split. Last SEC filling I could locate on the company was 8/03. Outstanding shares are 1 billion as reported by the company on 1/1/05 (caution flag). Perhaps someone more familar with RSHN can tell me the r/s ratio, effective date, and # of authorized shares.
Until then, my current opinion of RSHN's chart is that its normal trading range is between .0005 - .0009. Since November, the stock appears to have averaged about 28 trades per day or $300/trade. Current support is .0006/.0005 and resistance is .0009/.0010. Slow stoch looks encouraging however the RSI needs to break 50 and ideally 62 before another run can occur.
I'm not sure if we are looking at the same charts/paramaters, but I do not see a "golden cross" developing for some time. I do agree that this is an important chart signal as explained by BuyTex. Even with the great news RSHN had on 10/25/05, the stock couldn't break the 200 day moving average.
I will continue to watch the stock and look forward to anyone answering the questions I've asked above. With the right management team driving the company this could be an interesting play similar to BRVO earlier this year. Good luck to those long on the stock.

I sold my RSHN wednesday and bought more GZFX at .0174 - did not like where rush was headed.
The CEO is most definitely a sneaky SOB -"Oh, no - no reverse split because we VALUE our shareholders (yeah, RIGHT) - but, um, well, we're increasing AS by 2 BILLION..."
gzfx also increased by 2,000,000,000 to 4,000,000,000 shares before their mega run and now look where they are trading. I am buying rshn all I can on dips. imho
(a) On July 19, 2005, the Company filed a Certificate of Amendment to Articles of Incorporation with the Nevada Secretary of State (see Exhibit 3.7). This amendment, which did not require shareholder approval under the Company's current Articles of Incorporation, as amended, increased the authorized common stock of the Company by 2,000,000,000 to 4,000,000,000 shares.
Best of luck with GZFX. I am happy for you that you sold and bought gzfx. No need to put down RSHN CEO. Don't know why he would decide to increase shares but there must be a good reason to do so.
BTW - GZFX did the same thing 2,000,000,000 to 4,000,000,000 shares On July 19, 2005 before the stock rocketed. Check their filings. Look how they turned out.
I am betting that rshn will have a good run-up too.

I wouldn't get too excited about RSHN dropping to .0005 since this is the stock's strongest support level. I would just be cautious of day traders who would play this from .0006 - .0009.
Also just to clear the air regarding the esos.state.nv.us link floating around in this thread, the document shows the authorized shares will be increased from 2 billion to 4 billion.
The stock might see .0003 if the company starts diluting shares. To understand how a diluted company trades look at QBID.

hermes sit back and enjoy the show. You can't compare qbid and rshn. Apple and oranges. Sometimes studying charts doesn't give you all the answers. You have to listen to your gut feelings sometimes. My gut says to buy rshn. lol
