RushNet, Inc. Announces New Item Ginseng Viral Care Wednesday October 26, 2:25 pm ET
BLUE ISLAND, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 26, 2005--RushNet, Inc. (Pink Sheets:RSHN.PK - News) is pleased to announce the expansion of its line of Ginseng Rush(TM) capsules to include Ginseng Viral Care, a formula consisting of powdered ginseng root, green tea, ginger, rose hips, acerola and other special ingredients.
The company noted that yesterday's segment of ABC-TV's "Good Morning America" cited a Canadian double-blind placebo study demonstrating ginseng's anti-viral properties. The clinical study, published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal (October 25, 2005; vol 173, issue 9), involved 323 adults. Those given ginseng extract (Panax quinquefolius) suffered 25% fewer viral colds than subjects given a placebo. Those taking ginseng also reduced their incidence of multiple colds by more than half compared to the placebo group.
According to the authors of the study, "Our results can be compared with those for many of the common antiviral drugs such as rimantadine, amantadine, zanamivir or oseltamivir for the prevention or treatment of influenza."
Robert Corr, president of RushNet, Inc., said, "The scientific confirmation of ginseng's powerful anti-viral properties will support our launch, in early 2006, of a highly profitable line of all-natural Ginseng Viral Care(TM) products. We have combined pure Wisconsin-grown American ginseng (Panax quinquefolius) with other quality ingredients known to enhance immune function and overall health. The result is a product which is very timely given the likelihood of raging influenza epidemics going forward."
Corr added, "RushNet gives consumers honest measures of certified unadulterated American ginseng harvested in Wisconsin, where soil and climate are ideal for ginseng cultivation. Wisconsin ginseng is world renowned for its purity and potency."
"Foreign ginseng is suspect with regard to its potency and possible contamination by chemicals and banned pesticides, as pointed out by U.S. Senator Russell Feingold," Corr continued. "To make matters worse, some manufacturers who list ginseng as an ingredient test zero for detectable ginsenosides, the unique active ingredient in ginseng. At RushNet, we are committed not only to offering consumers the best ginseng possible but also to exposing ginseng charlatans no matter how big they are."

Asia-Pacific bird flu experts study doomsday scenarios at Australia meeting
38 minutes ago
BRISBANE, Australia (AFP) - International health officials met to discuss the nightmare scenario of a bird flu pandemic threatening millions of lives in the Asia-Pacific region. ADVERTISEMENT
Experts from the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation ( APEC) forum, Pacific island nations and the World Health Organisation (WHO) discussed how governments could react if the virus mutates into a form that is easily transmissable between humans.
A senior Australian official at the conference, who declined to be named, said delegates discussed the possibility of countries sealing their borders as a way of preventing the spread of a pandemic.
He said the officials also looked at ways they could prevent international trade grinding to a halt.
"We're talking about how economies will deal with this issue, how they'll keep the water running, the sewerage working..." he told reporters on Monday.
"If it's a fully-blown pandemic then the results for the region, for the world, could be quite catastrophic as far as movement of people, movement of goods, the ongoing commerce and the ongoing operations of communities go."
The official said the experts were considering staging a mock outbreak of human-to-human bird flu to test the effectiveness of emergency planning.
"Not so much testing domestic plans but testing regional coordination, so if there is an outbreak here, how could the region respond?" he said.
Foreign Minister Alexander Downer said it was the first time disaster management experts from the 21 APEC economies had been able to meet and compare notes on managing bird flu.
"This is a very important meeting in terms of ensuring the APEC economies and some of our partners, like the Pacific island countries, have got good preparations in place and then we'll see how we can coordinate our efforts in the event of the worst happening," Downer told reporters.
The H5N1 strain of bird flu has killed more than 60 people in Southeast Asia since late 2003 and experts fear disaster could strike if it becomes readily contagious through human-to-human contact.
Downer said such a virus would have to be rapidly identified and contained.
"We're looking at how you would contain an area," he said. "Hopefully we're only talking about a suburb or a village, not a whole country, so in the event of there being a mutation, how quickly are you going to identify it? How effectively are you going to be able to isolate it? Those are key issues."
Australia has said it will consider preventing interstate travel, ordering border closures in parts of the country and cancelling large public gatherings if a pandemic should occur.
Downer said the country would consider closing its international borders in extreme circumstances.
"Of course if it became an epidemic, we would want to stop it becoming a pandemic, spreading across borders," he told commercial televisions.
"And so only in the most extreme circumstances, the most dire circumstances would we be reduced to closing our borders."
An Australian plan distributed at the conference said customs officials could check people with thermal scanning equipment if a pandemic broke out to detect passengers who had a fever.
The plan said large numbers of people arriving in Australia may need to be quarantined to prevent transmission of pandemic influenza.
It said schools could be closed and workers encouraged to operate from their homes to minimise contact between people.
However, the Australian Medical Association said the meeting should not overstate the danger.
"I hope they issue a 'don't panic' message because it's a message we have to have. We know at this time there is no pandemic influenza," said association president Mukesh Haikerwal.

Companies across Asia bracing for bird flu catastrophe
Sun Oct 30, 3:08 AM ET
SINGAPORE, (AFP) - Just two years after the SARS outbreak sent Asian economies into intensive care, companies across the region are bracing themselves for the vastly more malignant threat of a bird flu pandemic. ADVERTISEMENT
The Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) crisis of 2003 killed about 800 people out of 8,000 cases and cost regional economies an estimated 18 billion dollars, according to the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The hardest hit were Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan and Malaysia. Travel-related industries were the most severely affected by the disease, which was spread by air passengers from China and Hong Kong.
On the other hand, an avian flu pandemic has the potential to kill millions worldwide and affect all economic sectors.
The ADB says in the Asia-Pacific region alone, the economic cost of a bird flu pandemic could exceed 250 billion dollars.
At the moment, the World Health Organization (WHO) says the bird flu threat is still in the third of six phases, with over 60 deaths recorded in Asia since 2003 and rare instances of suspected human-to-human infection.
Phase 6 is the doomsday scenario -- the full pandemic phase with sustained human-to-human infection in the general population.
"Phase 3, where we are now, is kind of the warning phase. It's out there, we know it's out there, we really have to pay attention. We have to plan," said Dr. Jeffrey Staples, senior medical advisor to emergency services firm International SOS.
"My guess is that at Phase 5, governments will probably impose international travel restrictions," he told AFP in an interview.
"So what this gives us is a window of opportunity whereby we can consider moving people around in Phase 4," he said, referring to the possibility of relocating expatriate corporate staff out of affected countries.
"Phase 3 is probably too early to move people, but it's not too early to think and to start planning in a holistic way."
With the virus now confirmed to have spread into Europe, companies across Asia are preparing emergency plans for a pandemic which it is widely assumed will hit in only a matter of time.
Contingency measures ranging from free Vitamin C pills for workers and taking poultry off the canteen menu to costly evacuation plans for expatriate staff and their families are being drafted by companies.
Nestle Malaysia said it was in the process of drafting a bird flu contingency plan, with guidance from local authorities and its headquarters in Switzerland.
Shell Malaysia said the group's "contingency planning, initially in some 50 countries, is well advanced".
In China, Charles Zhang, public relations manager of Procter and Gamble in the southern province of Guangzhou, told AFP all staff had been urged to "pay attention to their personal health and bird flu prevention measures".
Procter and Gamble, which has 5,000 employees in China, one percent of them expatriates, is not stockpiling masks or shoe gloves and so far has no alternate plans for transport in case supply chains become bottled up.
There are no evacuation plans at the moment. Neither does the group have any stocks of anti-viral drug Tamiflu because in China, people needed to go to hospitals and get prescriptions from doctors, Zhang said.
Tian Geng, spokesman for Kodak China in southeastern city of Xiamen, said the company has a special department "which has done a lot of work during SARS and has special medical knowledge".
In Indonesia, about 4,500 workers at PT Sierad Produce, an integrated poultry company, are given Vitamin C tablets with their daily meals, said the company's president director, Eko Putra Sanjoyo.
"Since the outbreak of avian influenza in Indonesia, we have been improving biosecurity aspects in our farms as well as for our workers," Sanjoyo said.
Sierad operates its own feedmills, breeding farms and fast-food restaurants. It also produces chicken nuggets and supplies around 70,000-100,000 slaughtered chickens daily to chains like Wendy's, McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Sanjoyo said he spends around two billion rupiah (198,000 dollars) annually on flu shots for his workers and has installed "backup" teams to replace key corporate officers and farm workers should they be infected with bird flu.
In Vietnam, where most of the bird flu deaths have been reported, a human resources official of Toyota, which employs 800 people in Vinh Phuc province, said that in 2003 "we published a prevention manual that was used during the SARS epidemic, and it is still effective now".
"We provided workers with masks, antiseptic mouthwash, nose drops and ordinary flu tablets. We sterilised our plant regularly. During the epidemic, workers entering the workplace must pass a sterilised carpet at the entrance.
"At present, we have excluded poultry and poultry products from our menu."
Medical advisor Staples of International SOS said that "multinational corporations are still struggling to understand the full scope of a pandemic and the full threat to business continuity".
"Think of it just as a matter of scale. SARS killed about 800 people and the numbers the WHO is throwing out (for bird flu) are in the millions, possibly more. Just on that level, it's several orders of magnitude greater.'
"It's a fundamentally different virus with a different epidemiological pattern so if it goes pandemic, it will probably spread more quickly and kill more people, and it's just going to be on a completely different scale than SARS was," Staples said.

RushNet, Inc. Secures Additional Bottler for e-water(TM) Monday October 31, 11:39 am ET
BLUE ISLAND, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 31, 2005--RushNet, Inc. (Pink Sheets:RSHN.PK - News) is pleased to announce the company has negotiated with a major water bottling firm and secured additional production of e-water(TM), a wholly owned RushNet product. Currently, e-water(TM) is bottled by a state-of the-art firm in Corona, California and capably serves the West and Southwest regions. The new bottler, with plants in Illinois and Florida, will more efficiently serve the Eastern seaboard, Midwest and Southeast, thereby reducing freight costs to those markets substantially. Furthermore, plans are afoot to oxygenate e-water(TM). The new version, called "e-water O2," will complement existing e-water(TM) and is slated for production in early 2006. Robert Corr, president of RushNet, Inc, stated, "With the help of our new bottler, e-water(TM) is now strategically placed to penetrate all important markets throughout the U.S.A. And the overall savings in freight costs will add nicely to our profitability."
Corr added, "We are getting excited praise from retailers about our e-water(TM). They are quite enthusiastic about its prospects. Our new bottler has the capability of oxygenating water under high pressure. If e-water(TM) is a monster, as we expect, then 'e-water O2' could be a Godzilla."
The company also reported it has received the first purchase order from its Canadian master distributor. The order covers Ginseng Rush(TM), Ginseng Rush XXX(TM) and Rush Cola(TM).

WASHINGTON - The Bush administration, battered by criticism over its hurricane response, is getting the nation prepared for a possible travel ban and other restrictions in the event of a worldwide flu outbreak.
Improving vaccines is expected to take center stage as President Bush announces his strategy Tuesday to battle the next flu pandemic, whether it is caused by the worrisome Asian bird flu or some other super-strain of influenza. Preparations are expected to cost at least $6.5 billion.
States and cities are awaiting their first specific instructions on such things as who should get limited doses of vaccines and the antiviral medications Tamiflu or Relenza.
Topping that list are workers involved in manufacturing flu vaccine, health workers caring for the ill, and other first responders such as police and ambulance drivers, said a public health specialist shown a recent version of the plan.
The principal goal of Bush's plan, Health and Human Services Secretary Michael Leavitt said Tuesday, "is the capacity for every American to have a vaccine in the case of a pandemic, no matter what the virus is."
"There is no reason to believe that in the next day or two or week or month that that's going to occur," Leavitt said on CBS's "The Early Show." But he added that "we do need to be ready in case it begins to mutate into a human transmissable disease."
In his speech Tuesday at the National Institutes of Health, Bush will first note that it will take more than the federal government to battle a super-flu, said White House spokesman Trent Duffy.
"America has this tough-it-out strategy when you get sick," Duffy said. "You aren't helping yourself or the country going to work when you get ill. You are potentially threatening a greater health issue if you send children to school when they are sick."
Pandemics strike when the easy-to-mutate influenza virus shifts to a strain that people have never experienced before, something that has happened three times in the last century. While it is impossible to say when the next super-flu will strike, concern is growing that the bird flu strain known as H5N1 could trigger one if it mutates to start spreading easily among people. Since 2003, at least 62 people in Southeast Asia have died from H5N1; most regularly handled poultry.
The nation's strategy starts with attempting to spot an outbreak abroad early and working to contain it before it reaches the United States.
International cooperation "represents a best hope of stopping the lightning spread of a pandemic," Duffy said.
There is a possibility that a pandemic would force restrictions of international travel and commerce, he said one reason the plan will stress improved vaccine manufacturing here.
Today, most of the world's vaccine against regular winter flu, including much of that used by Americans each flu season, is manufactured in factories in Britain and Europe.
The government already has ordered $162.5 million worth of vaccine to be made and stockpiled against the Asian bird flu, more than half to be made in a U.S. factory.
But the administration plan, to be released in more detail on Wednesday, calls for more than stockpiling shots. It will stress a new method of manufacturing flu vaccines growing the virus to make them in easy-to-handle cell cultures instead of today's cumbersome process that uses millions of chicken eggs as well as incentives for new U.S.-based vaccine factories to open.
Such steps will take several years to implement, but the hope is that eventually they could allow production of enough vaccine to go around within six months of a pandemic's start.
"The notion is that prevention beats therapy," said Dr. William Schaffner of Vanderbilt University, an influenza specialist who advises the government on vaccination and has received some information about the plan.
Hoping to spur the long-awaited pandemic plan, the Senate last week passed $8 billion in emergency funding for Bush to spend on the preparations.

Scientists explain why viruses thrive during winter Thu Nov 3, 2005 12:22 AM ET165
By Tan Ee Lyn
HONG KONG (Reuters) - The deadly H5N1 bird flu virus thrives in the cooler months between October and March, matching the seasonal peak for common human influenza viruses.
This fact is not lost on health experts, who fear the two will marry in a "mixing host", such as a human or a pig, resulting in a lethal hybrid that not only spreads easily between humans, but is packed with the power to kill millions of people.
One question is why influenza peaks at this time each year. Scientists suggest a plethora of likely explanations, from viruses surviving better in cooler and wetter environments to people crowding together in the festive season, creating the perfect setting for viruses to proliferate.
"The survival of the virus in the environment is partly involved, and the stress (occuring in both humans and animals) in these temperatures," said Alan Hampson, an influenza expert and former deputy director of the WHO's Collaborating Center for Reference and Research on Influenza in Melbourne.
A team of scientists in Asia published a paper in Nature magazine last year saying that H5N1 viruses have been circulating in China since 2001 with a seasonal pattern, peaking from October to March when the average temperature is below 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit).
And the lower the temperature, the better it can survive.

INGAPORE (Reuters) -- The World Bank highlighted the potentially huge human and economic costs from any bird flu pandemic, while the Asian Development Bank (ADB) said such an outbreak could push the world economy into recession.
The ADB said a year-long shock from bird flu in humans would cost Asian economies as much as $283 billion and would reduce the region's gross domestic product by 6.5 percentage points, hitting Hong Kong and Singapore the most.

Experts dismiss scare over bird flu
At a time when headlines trumpet the potential dangers of "bird flu," Gary Butcher is the man of the hour.
Butcher has been an extension veterinarian at the University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine since 1988. He was trained as a veterinarian specializing in avian diseases, and has a Ph.D. in poultry virology.
As the only poultry veterinarian in the state, Butcher fields phone calls and e-mails about avian flu every day.
Lately, he's been traveling the world, speaking to alarmed government officials and industry groups dispelling the myths and reinforcing the realities of avian influenza or so-called "bird flu."
Gary Butcher begins his presentation with a slide that shows a "news flash" from the British press agency Reuters reporting that avian flu "poses the single biggest threat to the world right now."
The H5N1 avian flu virus has led to the death of 150 million birds, either through infection or culling to prevent the virus from spreading. So far, however, the number of people who have become infected remains small, with 121 confirmed illnesses and 62 reported fatalities as of Monday. No one has yet been proven to have given avian influenza to someone else.
The World Health Organization continues to warn that a human pandemic may occur and has advised national governments to make contingency plans. President Bush is expected to announce today the White House strategy for handling a potential pandemic during a visit to the National Institutes of Health.
"The emphasis of all my work has changed to dealing with this madness," Butcher said Friday, while briefly back at his office on the UF campus in Gainesville. "Realistically, avian influenza is not a threat to people, but everywhere you go, it has turned into a circus."
He's been to Indonesia and Thailand, Hong Kong and Mexico, and a few days from now, he will be in Russia.
The poultry industries in those countries have been greatly disrupted because of the public's flu fear. In countries where poultry consumption has dropped by 75 percent, it's a real crisis, Butcher said. So from an economic perspective, bird flu is a big issue.
Millions of chickens and waterfowl have been slaughtered in Asia in an attempt to halt the spread of the bird virus known as H5N1, but Butcher said that of the billions of people who have probably been exposed, only about 120 have been reported to have fallen ill with avian flu. They were people who worked closely with chickens and came into contact with the birds' blood and feces.
Butcher also said that there has yet to be a proven case in which one person is known to have passed the illness on to another.
Bird flu viruses have been around throughout history, he said. What is unique about the H5N1 strain is that, on rare occasions, it has shown the ability to infect humans.
"It is very inefficient, but it does manage," Butcher said.
That same inefficiency makes it much more likely that the virus can't replicate itself rapidly enough to spread from that first infected human to another, he said. Could happen, but not likely. That's his view.
But the virus can go from poultry to the wild bird population, which will carry it to other locales along their migration routes.
If and when it comes to this part of the world, Butcher predicts, it will get here via migratory shorebirds or waterfowl coming from Russia, through Siberia, across the Bering Strait, down through Alaska and Canada.
"That's how it is probably going to come in, and it is of very little relevance," he said, because the poultry industry in this part of the world is so different than in the parts of the world that have been affected so far.
Not all health officials are sounding a warning about avian influenza, either.
Dr. Marc Siegel, a practicing internist and associate professor of medicine at the New York University School of Medicine, is one physician who isn't buying into the scare scenario.
"If anything is contagious right now, it's judgment clouded by fear," Siegel said.
And if Americans are scared of avian flu now, Siegel continues, "imagine what will happen if a single scrawny, flu-ridden migratory bird somehow manages to reach our shores."
That, he maintains, is how the fear epidemic - as opposed to a flu pandemic - spreads.
Back to the unlikely scenario of those migratory birds carrying avian flu to a poultry house somewhere in Kansas.
"Only once in every blue moon do you get infection in a poultry house, and the government has a system of monitoring and eradication that means it is quickly wiped out," Butcher said. "So it can happen, but it is rare and it is not allowed to spread."
Because the United States exports about one-third of the 9 billion poultry produced, if potentially dangerous disease turns up, there is a policy of zero tolerance.
"Other countries would not accept poultry from anywhere in the United States if there was any question of infection," Butcher said.
He said that although there is a potential that the virus could mutate, as it exists, it could not become an important disease in humans.
"For it to become dangerous to humans, it has to go through a pretty significant genetic change. If you put this in perspective, it's not going to happen. For a person to be infected now, it appears that the exposure level has to be astronomical," Butcher said.
"While we are putting all our attention on this avian influenza, another virus is going to come up and bite us in the bottom," he said.
How can you down play the bird flu? Lots of people died already.

Joe, what many people do not understand is that the death tallies given for large areas in China and Asia are most probably a lot higher than on paper; there are so many small provinces and rural areas that IMO these countries and continents have swept their true mortality stats under a rug.
Another point to be made is the very distinct possibility that the "bird flu" will mutate and that humans will be able to pass it on to other humans - MAN will be the next 'Patient Zero'.
Once it mutates, then we will have a pandemic virus on our hands - that is a scenario reminiscent of Stephen Kings' "Captain Trips" from his novel "The Stand". Of course, that Flu Virus was man-made in a government Lab and was entirely "fictional".
In these times of human history, when antibiotics are no longer as effective as they once were (and we have only been using antibiotics for less than 90 years and already statistics are showing many viruses and infections are no longer treatable with these antibiotics), I believe once the Avian Bird Flu jumps to humans in a more metropolitan area that we may see an ugly reminder of how just fragile we all are.
We don't control nature and only the strong survive; the same will be true if this virus becomes mutatable.

I really like the taste of RushGensing, haven't tried RushXXX because I want to wait until the weekend. Having raced bicycles, and sometimes used a few uppers, [Mai Hung], I know how these can keep you awake so I want to be sure. Never know, I might be up for days... . But no doubt, great stuff. I tried the e-water, fantastic!
Anyone that's tried Dasani, eat your heart out, this one is a million times better in both taste and smell. The e-water outside all the purities one would expect including electrolites, has a very soothing taste [much like evian] jmo, and a wonderful smell.
If Bob can get this product out, unlike Coke who own most of the market in soft drinks, this product will truly sell itself. If I saw e-water in a quick stop such as Seven-Eleven, I'd try it if the price was competitive. I wrote Bob in hopes I'll find out what a bottle might cost if someone saw it in a quick stop.
I think all is well... I too asked about any reverse anytime soon and hope to have more later.
I have Multiple Sclerosis and my immune system is already shot.
I did get a flu shot this year; I also have Tamiflu which I purchased 3 months ago just in case - one of my online businesses is a pharmacy - I set my own prices, so right b4 I ordered the tamiflu I lowered the price to a penny above the 'base price'. I also gave myself free shipping. I also had family & friends who lived in other states order from my site so that they could get it cheap (and for their friends as well) - I didn't make a dime. After everyone ordered I set the prices back to where they were but kept the free shipping - especially for a medication like that
Never hurts to think ahead.
Last year (I live in Florida) 3 hurricanes did damage in my area. No power, nada, zip.
Luckily (well, luck had nothing to do with it really) I have a 7500 kw diesel generator with a manual transfer switch already installed. All I had to do was shut everything off at the breaker box, then flip the manual transfer switch to "ON' and then go back and turn the breaker back on. I also have a 200 gallon tank with diesel fuel already hooked up with proper assemblage,; I had oil for the generator itself.
I was the only house with power for 5 days - I let my neighbors store their food in my spare fridge/freezer - we had cookouts - they had showers and iced tea and cold beer, they did their laundry, and they came in to watch TV and sit in air conditioning.
Now, whenever any of my neighbors think I need something - they just do it and I thank them. They know I will be ready again - and not just for me. One of my neighbors just completely reshingled my roof for free - that includes parts and labor. My roof looks fantastic...

China Reports Fourth Bird Flu Outbreak JOE McDONALD : Associated Press Writer Nov 3, 2005 : 8:14 pm ET
BEIJING -- China reported its fourth bird flu outbreak in three weeks Thursday, saying the virus killed nearly 9,000 chickens in a northeastern village, prompting authorities to destroy 369,900 other birds.
The outbreak occurred Oct. 26 in Badaohao, a village in Liaoning province, east of Beijing, the Agriculture Ministry said in a report posted late Thursday on the Web site of the Paris-based World Organization for Animal Health.
The report came despite Chinese government efforts to tighten controls on the country's vast poultry flocks and vaccinate millions of birds.
Authorities also found 20 dead magpies and other wild birds, said the report by the ministry's Veterinary Bureau.
China, Vietnam, Japan Report Flu Outbreaks Posted: Friday, Nov 04, 2005 - 05:51:28 am PST By JOE McDONALD
BEIJING, China - China and Vietnam on Friday each confirmed new bird flu outbreaks, while Japanese authorities said 180,000 chickens would be killed after signs of the virus were found at a farm.
Adding to global jitters about bird flu, the Asian Development Bank warned in a report that a flu pandemic could kill up to 3 million people in Asia, cost the region billions and plunge the world into recession.

I'm sorry that you take offense, but to post ad nauseum without any relevant news is pumping to me. To try and equate or relate news about a possible bird flu and a product from RSHN is laughable. BUT!!! If you want to go down that road and you are so sure about this bird flu, then I would suggest to all people who read this that if you want to save yourself from the bird flu, I wouldn't wait until 2006 for RSHN's product, because it might be too late for you . . . I would go to any number of websites, say this one, Herbalremedies.com . They have about what appears to be dozens, maybe hundreds of Ginseng products. Save yourself now.
If you wish to discuss financials and contracts then you might be on the right track as I think this stock is. But if I were a casual observer and came across this thread and saw the ramblings going on here, I would avoid the stock at all costs because there is very little basis in facts. BOOOYYYYYAAAA

WESTWOOD, Calif. -- As many as 180,000 Californians could die -- and millions more hospitalized -- if bird flu becomes contagious among humans and reaches California, health officials warned Friday.
"There's no reason to believe it's not going to reach North America," said Dr. Scott Layne during a hearing on California's preparations for a possible pandemic.
Assemblyman Hector De La Torre, D-South Gate, hosted Friday's hearing at UCLA. State and local health officials, university professors and health advocates outlined the state's level of preparedness in the event of an Avian Influenza outbreak.
De La Torre said he convened the hearing after working on bio-terrorism preparedness this summer.
"I became convinced these issues aren't that different," he said. "We need to be prepared."
Alaska will likely be the first place in North America hit by bird flu, and if that happens, it will be only a matter of weeks before the disease spreads to California, officials said.
Avian flu will most likely be brought to Alaska by migrating birds, Layne said.
"Pandemic flu is coming our way," Layne said. "It's going to, I think with very high probability, get into the animals in the state of California."

RushNet Updates e-water(TM) Action Plan Business Wire - November 08, 2005 09:45
BLUE ISLAND, Ill., Nov 08, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Board of Directors of RushNet, Inc. (Pink Sheets: RSHN.PK) is pleased to announce that, due to the tremendous enthusiasm greeting e-water(TM), it has approved the opportunity of offering exclusive royalty-based licensing of its e-water(TM) brand to a select group of major bottlers. With such licensing agreements in place, the e-water(TM) brand would be stocked wherever beverages are sold, thereby vastly expanding e-water(TM) marketing opportunities.
Robert Corr, president of RushNet, Inc., stated, "We aim to take wholly owned e-water(TM) to a maximum market and use minimum capital to do it. The licensing-royalty model relieves RushNet of substantial financial burdens associated with producing e-water(TM) for international and national markets. By franchising the brand, RushNet can begin to reap sizable profits very quickly from its e-water(TM), which has attracted enormous interest from distributors and merchants."
"Consider Coca-Cola(TM) as a model," Corr said. "Coca-Cola(TM) sells its syrup, but its licensees do the full assembly of final product--bottling, labeling, packaging, distribution and invoicing. So too with RushNet. Under a franchise agreement, RushNet would sell e-water(TM) concentrate and e-water Sport(TM) concentrate to select licensees. Our licensees would have a strong profit incentive to maximize sales of e-water(TM) brands in their respective territories. RushNet would receive a very nice per-case royalty in return. Meanwhile, RushNet would maintain full control over art, advertising, promotion and formulation of the product line. It's a fabulous win-win for all parties joining our 'e-water' revolution."
RushNet Inc. is the licensed marketing agent for Rush Beverage Company products and brand owner of e-water(TM). www.enjoytherush.com

RushNet, Inc. Introduces Revolutionary e-O2 Sports Water(TM)
November 10, 2005 12:13:01 (ET)
BLUE ISLAND, Ill., Nov 10, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- RushNet, Inc. (Pink Sheets: RSHN.PK) is pleased to announce the addition of e-O2 Sports Water(TM) to its wholly owned e-water(TM) brand line-up. Alkaline e-O2 Sports Water(TM) is a super-oxygenated, super-hydrating bottled water containing a patent-pending energy formula which helps normalize total-body acidity and promotes fast muscle recovery from moderate to strenuous exercise. The energy formula consists of a unique blend of pH-balanced electrolytes, vitamins, and trace minerals which make tiny changes in blood pH to improve alkalinity and reduce lactic acid. Build-up of lactic acid in muscle tissue is a leading cause of muscle fatigue and so-called "runner's wall."
There are other benefits of e-O2 Sports Water(TM). According to the American Journal of Nutrition (Vol. 76; 2002): "From an evolutionary perspective, being slightly alkaline from a low-acid, high-alkaline diet is the natural and optimal state of humans."
e-O2 Sports Water(TM), in half-liter bottles, will soon be offered to natural foods retailers in RushNet's extensive distribution network. In early 2006, RushNet plans the introduction of e-O2 Sports Water(TM) in handy eight-ounce foil sports pouches--intended for sale, initially, to thousands of convenience stores health/fitness clubs, sporting goods outlets and golf courses nationwide.
Robert Corr, president of RushNet, Inc., said, "Tasty e-O2 Sports Water(TM) is an outgrowth of years of scientific research and development by a distinguished nutritional scientist. The patent-pending formulation is a boon to anyone who likes to exercise, but doesn't like muscle pain and fatigue. The addition of pressurized-oxygen in e-O2 Sports Water(TM) enhances the assimilation of the special pH-balanced muscle-recovery formula."
"Adding entries like e-O2 Sports Water(TM) into the e-water(TM) line-up is part of RushNet's strategy of building a mega-brand name in the functional water category," Corr stated. "The response we are getting from wholesalers and retailers, eager to procure the e-water(TM) brand, is phenomenal. We are looking forward to spectacular growth in this category in coming months."

bax, I went to the trade show in Washington, D.C, in September in which Rushnet was an exhibitor, and had the first-hand opportunity to watch individual and potential distributors' positive reactions to the products, as well as sample them myself and speak with management. This trade show was mostly for stores and other distributors to see which new products they wanted to sell rather than for the general public. In fact, it was a $450 admission for the general public and I found out that for only a $50 admission fee, with a valid current I.D., I qualified under the medical professional category,haha... I like the products very much, and added to my position after attending the trade show. I am comfortable with the scientific credibility of the Canadian Medical Journal studies about the efficacy of Ginseng in reducing viral infections and the frequency of multiple attacks. At a supersubpenny average cost per share, the downside risk is not that significant relative to the upside potential as I see it. I really feel I am in a very good position for a significant multiple from here, especially if the share structure should mirror what happened along the way for HISC.
I am using pure profit monies from other winners to buy Rushnet stock. I have over 14 million shares now and will add on dips.
Ginseng is hot right now.
IMO, a penny is a good bet from here.

I am hoping Ginseng Viral Care will do the same for rshn like coldfx is doing for CVQ.V

Soul Vegetarian, in South Chicago, has been serving vegan food since the 1970's. H5N1 bird flu found in wild birds in central Canada font size ZoomIn ZoomOut
Wild birds in Canada's central province of Manitoba have tested positive for a low-pathogenic subtype of the H5N1 avian flu virus, a health official said on Saturday.
The strains are from the family of North American H5N1 viruses, not the forms circulating in Southeast Asia, said Dr. Brian Evans, chief veterinary officer at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency ( CFIA).
"I want to emphasize that the H5N1 subtype detected in Manitoba is completely distinct from the strain currently present in Asia," said Evans
"From a genetic perspective, there are significant strain differences in their structure," he said.
In addition, officials isolated an H5N3 subtype in two birds from Quebec, as part of a cross-country surveillance program to find what avian flu viruses are being carried by wild ducks in this country.
"Finding only low pathogenic avian influenza means that these viruses would cause only mild disease, if any at all, if introduced into domestic birds," Evans said.
Meanwhile, a commercial farm in British Columbia's Fraser Valley remains under quarantine after a duck was found infected with a strain of H5 bird flu on Friday.
North American H5N1 viruses have so far proven to be much milder viruses than their distant Asian counterparts, avian influenza experts say.
"We've got 32 years of surveillance work that says these North American strains in wild birds in the past have never been a threat," Dr. Richard Slemons, an avian influenza expert at Ohio State University, told The Canadian Press.
"Does that mean they won't be a threat in the future? No it does not. But history says they aren't a risk," he said.
The Asian H5N1 viruses, which are highly pathogenic, have infected 130 people in five countries since 2003 and 67 of those people have died.

Joe, In the MSEP/Nascar thread you asked my opinion of RSHN. In an attempt to keep things "organized" I'll respond here.
My knowledge of RSHN is limited to their 10/25/05 major PR and the run it had that day. News of a reverse split is news to me and i was unable to locate the ratio or the effective date for the reverse split. Last SEC filling I could locate on the company was 8/03. Outstanding shares are 1 billion as reported by the company on 1/1/05 (caution flag). Perhaps someone more familar with RSHN can tell me the r/s ratio, effective date, and # of authorized shares.
Until then, my current opinion of RSHN's chart is that its normal trading range is between .0005 - .0009. Since November, the stock appears to have averaged about 28 trades per day or $300/trade. Current support is .0006/.0005 and resistance is .0009/.0010. Slow stoch looks encouraging however the RSI needs to break 50 and ideally 62 before another run can occur.
I'm not sure if we are looking at the same charts/paramaters, but I do not see a "golden cross" developing for some time. I do agree that this is an important chart signal as explained by BuyTex. Even with the great news RSHN had on 10/25/05, the stock couldn't break the 200 day moving average.
I will continue to watch the stock and look forward to anyone answering the questions I've asked above. With the right management team driving the company this could be an interesting play similar to BRVO earlier this year. Good luck to those long on the stock.

The CEO is most definitely a sneaky SOB -"Oh, no - no reverse split because we VALUE our shareholders (yeah, RIGHT) - but, um, well, we're increasing AS by 2 BILLION..."
What a sell-off rshn is today...
Corr should be ashamed of himself.

(a) On July 19, 2005, the Company filed a Certificate of Amendment to Articles of Incorporation with the Nevada Secretary of State (see Exhibit 3.7). This amendment, which did not require shareholder approval under the Company's current Articles of Incorporation, as amended, increased the authorized common stock of the Company by 2,000,000,000 to 4,000,000,000 shares.

Best of luck with GZFX. I am happy for you that you sold and bought gzfx. No need to put down RSHN CEO. Don't know why he would decide to increase shares but there must be a good reason to do so.
BTW - GZFX did the same thing 2,000,000,000 to 4,000,000,000 shares On July 19, 2005 before the stock rocketed. Check their filings. Look how they turned out.
I am betting that rshn will have a good run-up too.

Posted by hermes on :
I wouldn't get too excited about RSHN dropping to .0005 since this is the stock's strongest support level. I would just be cautious of day traders who would play this from .0006 - .0009.
Also just to clear the air regarding the esos.state.nv.us link floating around in this thread, the document shows the authorized shares will be increased from 2 billion to 4 billion.
The stock might see .0003 if the company starts diluting shares. To understand how a diluted company trades look at QBID.
Good luck to all in or considering RSHN.

hermes sit back and enjoy the show. You can't compare qbid and rshn. Apple and oranges. Sometimes studying charts doesn't give you all the answers. You have to listen to your gut feelings sometimes. My gut says to buy rshn. lol
Q: With the shortage of the prescription anti-flu drug Tamiflu and fears about a coming bird flu pandemic, are there any natural supplements that will help against the flu?

Joe, one minute RSHN is going to the moon then the next you seem worried the stock hit .0005. I tried to ease your concern about the dip and before that I mentioned RSHN had the potential to move as BRVO did prior to the CCE announcement.
I agree RSHN and QBID are very different companies. I was attempting to point out that a diluted company such as QBID requires enormous volume in order to up tick the pps.
Too many times people will get excited because a stock's volume is up 15-30% over its normal volume then wonder why the pps closed unchanged.
Please understand Joe, I agree with you and Jaco that RSHN has great long term potential. I personally will wait to see how the company issues their new shares; restricted/unrestricted shares. Too many important unknowns for me at this time. Dead money is something I strive to avoid.
Good luck to all!

Supplements may offer hope in flu pandemic
BY RICHARD HARKNESS
Knight Ridder Newspapers
Q: With the shortage of the prescription anti-flu drug Tamiflu and fears about a coming bird flu pandemic, are there any natural supplements that will help against the flu?
A: There's some promising evidence for elderberry, n-acetylcysteine, and American ginseng. The studies mentioned below are double-blind, placebo trials.
_Elderberry has been used for centuries to treat the seasonal flu and colds. It appears to boost the immune system and has been shown to inhibit various influenza virus strains in laboratory experiments.
Benefits have been found for a standardized elderberry extract syrup (Sambucol).
One study consisted of 60 patients who had suffered from influenza-like symptoms for 48 hours or less. They took either 15 ml (1 tablespoon) of the elderberry syrup or placebo four times daily for five days. Those taking elderberry reported that their symptoms were relieved about four days earlier than those on placebo.
In another study, symptoms in the group taking elderberry syrup significantly improved within two days compared to six days for the placebo group.
_N-acetylcysteine is an antioxidant and seems to have anti-inflammatory effects. It may also thin the blood. A study of 262 people, mainly elderly, found that n-acetylcysteine tablets (600 mg) taken twice daily for 6 months helped prevent flu-like illness, and reduced the severity and duration of illness when it occurred.
The prescription form of n-acetylcysteine, called Mucomyst, is used for acetaminophen poisoning and for respiratory conditions.
_American ginseng is thought to boost the immune system.
Two studies involving 198 people suggest that a proprietary extract of North American ginseng (CVT-E002) helped prevent the flu in elderly residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Residents receiving 200 mg of the ginseng formulation twice daily for 12 weeks during flu season had a substantially lower risk of getting laboratory-confirmed influenza, compared to placebo users.
Another study of 279 people found that 2 capsules (400 mg) daily of an extract of North American ginseng root taken over 4 months during flu season helped prevent the common cold, and reduced its severity and its duration by 2.4 days. Researchers, however, did not distinguish between the common cold and flu (both are caused by viruses).
A caution: Pregnant or nursing women should not use these natural remedies without medical supervision.
Q: Your flu column in the San Diego Union-Tribune listed "children 23 months to 6" in the CDC's high-risk category for priority in getting the flu shot. My pediatrician recommended that my 12-month-old twins get a shot because they are high risk. Why does the CDC feel differently?
A: My original text read "Children ages 6 to 23 months." An editor somehow got the numbers turned around. Fortunately, it's stated correctly in other newspapers that carry my column. Your pediatrician and the CDC are on the same page after all. Richard Harkness is a consultant pharmacist, natural medicines specialist, and author of eight published books. Write him at 1224 King Henry Drive, Ocean Springs, MS 39564; or rharkn*aol.com. Selected questions will be used in the column.
Ginseng Extract Helps Fight Off Common Cold Review North American ginseng is modestly effective. EDMONTON, Alberta, Oct. 25 - Canadian researchers have found two capsules a day of North American ginseng (Panax quinquefolium) to be modestly effective in keeping the common cold at bay.
Patients who took two 200 mg capsules per day of ginseng had significantly fewer colds and less severe symptoms than those who were assigned to a placebo, according to a study published in the October issue of Canadian Medical Association Journal.
The positive results of the Canadian randomized double-blind trial came just weeks after echinacea, another ostensible alternative cold remedy, was found completely ineffective in a study appearing in the New England Journal of Medicine.
The research team, led by Tapan K. Basu, Ph.D., a professor of food and nutritional science at the University of Alberta here, reported a mean of 0.68 colds per person over four months among 130 patients in the ginseng group versus 0.93 colds per person among the 149 patients assigned to rice-powder placebo (95% CI, 0.04-0.45, p=0.017).
Ginseng has been previously studied for its potential in improving blood flow and cognitive function, but less was known about its possible antiviral capacity. The authors said the phytochemical properties of ginseng suggest this herb could have potential beyond treating the perennial common cold.
This ginseng extract, wrote Dr. Basu and colleagues, has a broader range of activity and hence is potentially more effective in combating different strains of virus.
They said North American ginseng extract contains the polysaccharides and oligosaccharides that have been shown to boost immunity by enhancing the immunoglobulin production of lymphocytes and macrophage Fc receptor expression. In addition, the researchers wrote, these extracts appear to stimulate cell-mediated immune response and natural killer cell cytotoxicity.
