The bottom line is that you can't put probable reserves in the bank just yet.

As far as I can tell, they actually even own the company yet. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Does anyone have any idea of what costs are for oil companies? Does it run within a specific percent of revenues?

It seems quite wrong to price shares based only on revenues unless costs are truly negligible, which i doubt they are.

I found a website where there's revenues and net income listed for independent oil companies. Based on the first quarter of 2004 the net income is 2% of revenues but for the first quarter of 2005 it's 10%.

See table 1 here http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/perfpro/news_i/

Given this, i agree with bond006 for the 0.1 pps pre-split. Including only proven reserves at today's oil prices, it's about 0.035.

Of course, that is assuming a PE of 1. [Big Grin]

Thorn, actually it's not based on PE of 1.

I'm looking at a discounted stream of a percent of revenue. I'm not just looking at one year's earnings.

Ok, here's an example:

POIG.OB
Revenue per share: 0.093
Current stock price: 1.55

That's fine, though i wish you didn't use a company with a negative EPS in your example. [Smile]

However, that revenue per share is based on annual revenue. I'm not using annual revenue but am using all future revenue.

I think we can all agree this stock is considerably undervalued (assuming the PR was close to factual in representing the known and potential reserves, and the deal goes through).

Looks like we have some solid resistance around the .002 level. Might be the time to get some final buying in before hopefully we get some good news.

Not a high volume sell off. Seems to be some manipulation going on. IMO.

It's TOTAL manipulation. They walked it down on a bunch of 5000 share trades to grab some for next week.

If you think it dropped for no reason then you should definitely buy more.

Personally, i think it dropped in price because some were expecting a news release this week and when it didn't come they decided to sell.

Of course it could be that they sold to pay for their more expensive gasoline. It's over $2.50/gallon here in Hawaii.

Ther's a song called "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" that reminds me of this stock. As long as I remember the reason I got into this stock in the first place was because of the potential AFTER Sept. 1st, then I don't mind the fact hat the pps falls or rises on no news. After the r/s Rainbow: we will all be smiling wishing we had picked up more on the dips.

Two things. It is very possible that by walking the price down they were trying to shake loose shares that people had put a stop sale on. Hoping that the drop in price would trigger a computer automated sale. If so I hope the boys in charge get theirs.
Secondly and more importantly. I spoke with a person in the oil exploration field, he told me that drilling in Russia can really only be done during the winter because the tundra is to soft to move the large equipment around during the warm weather. They must wait until the ground freezes. That would meen that it wold be until late fall here before they even started to drill and see any potential profit.
Since I am in at just above the .02 make I am in for the long haul it looks like.

The CEO mentioned that they'll start pumping in late September fwiw (and will start actively promoting the opportunity to investors in August after they put a company site up).

PS - Neither STOP nor STOP LIMIT orders can be placed with OTCBB or Pinks btw. It's either MARKET, LIMIT, or AON LIMIT.

The MM's imo are trying to take advantage of this quiet period to discourage investors and shake loose shares before more news hits and things start winding up.

Technically, it's ripe for a rally at any time. Stochs are bottomed out right now.

And all those restricted shares after the R/S will surely give this a nice boost once it's on the radar screen and more serious investors have at it.

PS - Wikipedia has a nice, balanced article on Peak Oil for those who haven't seen it yet.
