Like The guys on Traders Nation said "Its a good thing QBID is going up little by little." Thats what we want.
Exactly - I'll take an 8% positive change everyday,anyday.
How many of you have stocks tucked away that you never or close to never look at?
I have 2 that I only check once or twice a week.....they are REAL long.....sometimes only check on them when news hits...as I don't plan on swinging or selling.
I just got news about my PEG (left to me by my Father in law so..don't have plans on selling).
GREAT NEWS......WOW! Went from $40.00 last I checked to NOW.......$50.00 SWEEEEEET!
Just curious as to how many of you out there have any stocks (besides Q) that will never be sold....I'm just willing my PEG to my kids. Unless it hits $100. then I'll sell half and buy an island...LOL Just might happen with the news they released. LOL

WOW, this is great news, not only have we opened up viewing to an additional huge audience but we are syndicating our shows. 2 punches in one PR. Big smile here.

On some of mine if I see a 1% gain in a days time I'm happy. You let them run and use the dividend to buy additional shares. When's the last time anyone checked on their mutual funds?

Yea it was kinda late in the day for the news, remember Frank, has a hate on for the Daytraders (no offense intended) for those friends of the "Q" who daytrade. I would be willing to speculate that this will pop in the morning after the news has time to circulate.

everytime there is a qbid's pr, it's like more than a zoo at IH and RB. too many complaints and negativity about nothing. if they are soo good at criticizing others, why dont they try to run a small business and see if they can keep up with it. If they dont believe, why dont they just sell and move on to Mlon or CMKX or something. Get Real.

LiL, At that price, all you can hope for is divedens, or a stock split so you can rebuy at a lower price. I mean $80 is 100%.
I personally don't buy stocks over $10.
I like to make at least $200 a day with a quick buy/sell. QBID is my only "long" one because of the HUGE potential it has. I know this stock will see .50+
Other then that, 10% gains a day or even week is fine with me.
Try IRA if you're looking for safe long term investing. Personally that stock I would sell at $50 and put that money into something else and make a quick 10% gain on.

From other board - "good to read" stuff ----------------- In the television industry, television syndicaion is the sale of the right to broadcast television programs to multiple television stations. Off-network syndication is such a sale of a program that was originally run on network television: a rerun. First-run syndication is such a sale of a program that was designed to be broadcast for the first time as a syndicated show.
When syndicating a show, the production company attempts to sell the show to one station in each television "market", or area, in the country and around the world. If successful, this can be lucrative; but the syndicator may only be able to sell the show to a fraction of the markets.t
Syndication differs from selling the show to a television network; once a network picks up a show, it is basically guaranteed to run in all the network's markets, on the same day of the week and at the same time.
In this case frank is syndicating for comcast to eventually air the entire network IMHO

When RCNQ emerges from BK, is it not true that you loose your shares if you are in before the BK is settled. Then you have to start over again ??? Please advise.

I know but, Like I have said...My father in law willed me these 2500 shares. Was a lineman for years and was so proud of his job. Kinda want to leave it to the baby as something from Grandpa....KWIM. Just curious as to how many have stocks like these that you just can't sell. Would be (to me) kinda' like selling him.

I wish I had something like that I could leave my Daughter to remember her recently passed away grandfather whom she never met. I just checked out your webpage - too cute. I have used you as an example for my wife, or more as a role model, as she now is a stay at home Mom and I think she has the makings of a good daytrader She is interested and has signed up for an evening class at the local college on the stock market. I find these Boards to be the source of some of the best info and am trying to get her to read them. I have found it adicting, once I started reading, I couldn't stop. My goal - become a stay-at-home father/daytrader so I can spend more time with my family! Merry Christmas to all!

I went through a bankruptcy with Chiquita Brands. I had 1000 common shares that turned into 7 shares with 118 warrants. We had the option to vote for the above or most likely receive nothing. It depends on what the Board of Directors offer.

Response from Comcast about the availability of Qtelevision syndication in Western Massachusetts:
Thank you for taking the time to write us.
I do not know if we are going to carry the Q channel that is something our Marketing Team would be aware of. I will forward your request for The Q Channel. As far as the Syndicated programs that is something we would not handle that is for other networks or channels to carry, for example Bravo carries some NBC content, and USA syndicates to ABC for Monk. I will also have my supervisor ask if we have any information as to any of our networks carrying Syndication from the Q channel.
Thank you for the opportunity to assist you. If you need further assistance with any of your Comcast services please reply to this email and we will be happy to assist you. Thank you again for choosing Comcast and we continue to appreciate your business.
You can email us anytime by replying to this email or by clicking the "Contact Comcast" link found on the bottom of all www.Comcast.net and www.Comcast.com webpages. Our Electronic Customer Support teams are available to assist you 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Lil, My wife inherited PEG a few years ago..(descent dividends, but not much of a mover)..this is the highest we have seen it, and dumped it today for a nice profit. That money, will be invested in something newer, with more potential, (hopefully). We'll be leaving bonds , rare coins, etc, and putting them into trust funds.....to be inherited.....Just my take on leaving "inheritance".

The only caveat, is that so far Q hasn't syndicated anything to Comcast, just run a program on a public access channel in Seattle. Big difference. And the first-run syndication type programs can be widely carried, though, or not at all. One fairly successful one was Mama's Family.

As far as holding other stock long term I work for a stock transfer agent/Equiserve, so I have a fair amount of DRP's that I won't touch for a very long time.
I try to through spare cash at them as well, although not as much as I have thrown at pennies and NASDAQ stuff.
I DRP XOM, JNJ, PFE, HD and BXP. Those are long term holds for me as of right now.

Travman, thanks so much. I am very active in our local homeschooling as well. Or unschooling if you would rather call it. It's great to see that you will try and be a SAH dad.
Marty the dividends are great. You are right...it's not a fast mover but, I see it only going either up or staying near it's current levels, Heck I've lived without the money this long.....May as well give it to the kids....I'm comfortable enough.
dj...thanks for your response as well....and you too big...
