Knight Trading Group, Inc. Unit Is Censured, Fined By SEC-WSJ
July 18, 2002
The Wall Street Journal reported that the Securities and Exchange Commission censured and fined a unit of Knight Trading Group, Inc. $75,000 for violating a rule that requires that certain limit orders be displayed by market makers. The SEC found that between October 1997 and August 1999 "certain eligible limit orders were not promptly redisplayed, executed or re-routed in contravention of the limit order display rule." An SEC examination of all trading through Knight's Knight Securities' unit on the single trading day of May 5, 1999, revealed that Knight failed to redisplay promptly eligible limit orders 6,082 times.

They maybe queer, the may not be queer, but they're here. I bought ONEV at.015, and sold too early, it ran to .16, NITE didn't have anything to do with me leaving money on the table. They might manipulate prices, but I think my major losses and/or missed opportunity had to do with my lack of skill and ability not NITE.

Sure there is manipulation. I am just saying most stock woes aren't due to that, but lack of trading skills. It is a lot easier to point at them instead of accepting the responsibility of poor judgement.

Yes but if the MM's have a gap to fill they will try to drop to get back at the gap....when they fill it they move on.
If a stock is moving too fast they will harldy have time to full that gap...seeing they have more than one stock to look at.
