Careful, dont let the hype blind you to what is really there. There was a site called qool.com that had a very similar structure and did not succeed. They even had a car up for auction, and a trip on the first civilian flight to space. Much like the current launch gimmick for Prizewise. This site has a chance to attract a unique market, but definitely not ebay users. I dont think anyone will use Prizewise instead of ebay. Ebay is simply the better business model, not to mention their giant market share. I have no idea what the PPS will do, but this IS NOT the next ebay. Thats all ill say. Good luck to you all.

HEY ROGER, I HAVE BEEN A SELLER ON EBAY SINCE 1998, EBAY IS BECOMING MORE AND MORE EXPENSIVE TO DO BUSINESS WITH!!! YOU PEOPLE PUMP EBAY UP SO MUCH!!!! THEY DI NOT BECOME A 400 BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY OVERNIGHT!!! FOR YOU YOUNGSTERS-EBAY STARTED IN 1995!!!THATS ALMOST 10YEARS AGO, PRIZE WISE WILL NOT KICK EBAYS BUT RIGHT NOW.. BUT IN TIME THEY WILL!!!!

Right but that is for the seller. We are talking company profitability. Even if prizewise is better for sellers, that means someone else is losing in the value chain.

well, regardless of what eBay's done and what this will become, we're still going to see a nice rise through this afternoon and monday, assuming the site doesn't run into any major complications over the weekend. Once news comes out that lotteries are happening and people are selling and winning prizes we'll hit .10 with no trouble at all. If we hit .15 by end of next week I'll be happy. Who knows from there.

Roger read this: From a poster in Internetland
I know what you are talking about, not all free auction sites can stay online long because of piling debts. Qool.com simply became too big, too many big items up for auction. Steve, the founder, probably went bankrupt because too many people were finding free ways to get points without paying a cent. I admit I did that also. I mean, a trip to space, a BMW?? those are too big of items to auction off for free. He simply put things up for auction that he couldnt back up. There are still other free auction sites out there, most are stronger than qool.com because they offer less points or fewer ways to get free points. More and more are using methods that makes you pay to earn points. I am not happy of the way that Steve closed up the site.
Whoever Steve is/was, he is a man. TFCT is a company with real revenue and actual product. I admire your perspective, it's good to see opposing ideals; it's healthy. However I disagree. TFCT is not offering free raffle tickets to the moon, nor or they a small time website developer trying to get rich over night. I think this stock just might surprise you in the long run. Keep your eyes open, if you sleep you might miss something. Amen. GTLA

I'm not bashing... I'm just curious. What makes you guy us think that this site will succeed. As oopossed to other auction sites?
I mean it has a very unique and ultimately what looks to be a fun spin on a standard auction site. But what do you feel is the major plus here. Do we have confirmation of a strong PR push/ advertising for the site?
Of course there are other aspects to this business other than Prisewise... but right now I'm just focusing on prizewise. Does anyone have any opinions?

Heres the problem I have with the business model.
"What if my item doesn't sell enough tickets?
You have 185 days to accumulate ticket entries for your item. If in that amount of time you do not reach the target number of ticket entries you have requested, the raffle will be closed and tickets will be returned to all buyers.
After your raffle has closed due to insufficient ticket entries, you will have the option to relist the item and start a new raffle."
Ok, so you have to sell all the tickets. Well think of it this way. If I put a DVD up for thirty tickets, Who is going to buy one ticket, much less all of them. If I want the DVD i will pay the extra 16 dollars and go buy it myself without the shipping costs. I think the raffle concept only works well with larger items. The only way you will get someone to enter a sweepstakes with such a small prize is to give them tickets "for free". Now, these tickets could be issued by having users buy things from sponsors sites. I think that model just might work. But small items just dont mathematically pan out. And plus, If im selling something like a DVD, who wants to wait for 185 days just to possibly have the item delisted. Americas culture is becoming more and more focused on speed. Everything has to be faster. I dont see people waiting months and months for raffles to end on either the buying or selling end. Once again I have no idea what this does the PPS of the stock because I dont know the O/S or anything like that. But the reason ebay works is because it is fast, efficient, and has a huge subscriber base.
Metcalf's law of exponentiality regarding networks explains why Prizewise will have a very difficult time succeeding.

Hey Roger the Dodger, get with the program. This stock is not running on emotion. It is running based on facts and figures. Do your DD and you will see. By the way, this guy TUFFY pretends to be a newbie. Check him out, then you will wish you had listened to him and some of the others on this board. Why don't you go back to QBID where everything is emotion and you will fit right in over there.

I think the idea is that (to use your example) that just because the DVD auction has a 185 day wait to sell X number of tickets... doesn't meant it would take that long. Unlike ebay where people may avoid certain auctions because the price is so high or rather where there is competition... it is my undertsnading that doesn't happen here. Every person pays the same amount of $ for each ticket. So they don't have to surf around looking for that "better deal". ALSO I think you will find that because of this fact... "bidders" will lean towards bidding on those auctions that don't have a lot of days left on them. Or that are close to hitting their maximum ticket count.... because they want to expedite their auction (as you said who wants to wait a couple of months for their DVD).
All in all though this basically is a gambling site. And that I think is where we get our money. SURE YEAH... you could go get that DVD player on ebay for $50... HOWEVER here is your chance to get it for $1!!! So on and so forth. The site is creative gambling.

I know it doesnt "have" to go for 185 days. But this site will not have that big of a customer base..at least at first. So the first people selling stuff on the site will not have a good impression. The TV ads are make or break for this thing. All about Metcalf's law.

Earlier today, prizeWise's president, Steve Rinehart, announced that membership in the website, http://prizeWise.com, was growing at the rate of one every 8 minutes. Since that announcement, growth has accelerated to the rate of one per minute. Additionally, property has been added to the sweepstakes pool, making the total value as of the issuance of this release at $7.3 million, and increase of $2.3 million from the announcement of earlier today. Mr. Rinehart said, "The aura of anticipation at prizeWise is so powerful. Great things are happening, and they will become greater. I personally invite the public to visit our website at http://prizeWise.com and join the fun and excitement. It's worth the trip." The prizeWise website will become operational today at approximately 3:00 p.m., PDT. The site will feature an opportunity to purchase valuable coupons with an option to receive sweepstakes tickets. I wouldn't say Roger is bashing the stock, just trying to get his point across and let people know to do the DD. I'm in this for 45K shares, so I obviously think this is going to pay off nicely in a couple of months, but Roger is definitely not a basher.

Good call about the qool.com Roger, www.qoolcontests.com, however it's not nearly as organized, maintained, and visibly attractive as Prizewise. While I'm all for the potential here there still is the most important part of this site's success, advertisement and whether or not they portray it in a way that will make people feel comfortable using the site and like they're actually getting a deal...meaning luck will have to run in everyones favor so that they atleast win SOMETHING!. My only real problem here is that they're directly competing with eBay's client base. These are the people who would be most likely to use Prizewise and I'm hesitant to admit that there will be any kind of mass exodus from eBay to Prizewise. Which there won't. BUT, the idea is great, and THIS will bring traffic to the site. The real challenge here will be keeping peoples interest when they start to realize that there's a good chance of them losing every dollar they put in. Short term is very promising here, after that depends on the acceptance of the idea.
