Wooter: Good stuff! I'm a dreamer too. The reason I invested big in GZFX is to "ride the Netflix wave" as you put it. There are 2 or 3 dozen small outfits making money in the lucrative online videogame rental market. GZFX is positioning itself to take a NFLX-sized slice of that pie. It's all about marketing.
GZFX cannot compete with NFLX in the DVD market. But renting DVDs will give GZFX an advantage over all our small-fish competetion in the videogame rental market. The GZFX ride has only just started baby!

The actual launch of GamezNFlix has not yet happened. The article points to February as the launch target time frame. I think we still have that to look forward to in the near future. This will be the addition of DVD's to the games already offered via VeeGeez. I also anticipate an advertising campaign to coincide with this development (based on the partnership with Legend Mobile).
Once that happens, I think the excitement will settle down a bit until the next quarterly revenue results are released.
This is all IMHO.....please base investment decisions on your own DD!

Very nice and thoughtful post Wooter! That is what Allstocks is all about. I see the same potential. I've got a chunk of shares that won't be sold for a very long time.
Don't buy or hold on my opinions....do your own DD!

This is normal for the level 2 quotes to dissapear on the weekends. Dont worry about it. My level 2 quotes are unavailible right now too.

The continual rise in DVD sales creates an overwhelming market for the packaged media business that is only becoming stronger and more powerful as the ultimate convenience that consumers are buying and continue to buy is “portability”.

PORTABILITY...PORTABILITY...PORTABILITY... rent or buy...take it where you want. So what's not to love about the GameZnFlix model...IMVHO

Hope everyone didn't take my post meaning they shoud not offer DVD's. Was looking at downloads as an option to offer to customers who may not want to subscribe.

Looks like GameZnflix has some more advertising to do on the net. I don't know how any of you guys got #1 results when searching for "rent video games" in Google, but I don't even a first page result. I did yesterday but not today. And they also had a rotating sponsor link, but that's gone too. They have a sponsor link that rotates on the search "cheap video games." I also tried "rent games" and rent games online." Nothing.
Oh yeah. I emailed Epinions.com and suggested they add a VeeGeeZ review section. Gamefly had one. I also emailed cheapgamerentals.com and suggested he had veegeez to his list. He has a sponsored link on a few searches i mentioned earlier. well, i'll keep searching.

"Movies in Demand" IMO will NEVER take the demand away from DVD rentals.
First off, think of the size of a DVD movie. - It's huge, and yes I know people currently download and burn their own DVD's (pirated most of the time), but that is only a select few % of the population.
Two: - For the masses, it does not make much sense. Is everyone going to be like "Ok kids, time to gather around the computer and watch a movie!"? Not in the very near future, not for the majority. Even with the now cheap prices of DVD burners, you first must take the time to download it, which for a multiple gigabyte DVD, is not very practical for most people and the time they set aside for such entertainment.
Three: There will always be demand for some type of rental outlet, GameZNFlix just makes it that much easier because of the no late fees and of course all the other great features.
So IMO something like this does not fit GZFX's business model.
Just adding my .02 on that

Anyone been able to do anything with GZFX on Ameritrade yet? I wasn't able to trade it on Friday like I wanted to which has now cost me a good amount, and when I called them today since I still can't trade it to see if I could put an order in, they said they can't do anything with the stock because they haven't received official notice of the name change. What's going on here? Is this another problem with the press company GZFX uses or is this Ameritrade sucking for customer service as appears to be their norm lately?

I had a problem on Friday with Datek/Ameritrade, but now everythink is fine. Is this who you have, or do you use Ameritrade? On friday, my regular Ameritrade account was ok, I was able to trade GZFX. Both of my accounts are ok. I can trade GZFX on both, so I dont know why you cant trade it.

The internet/computer isn't the problem. The biggest threat will be coming from the cable companies being able to deliver movies in demand on the TV. They already have something like that happening. You can open up the menue and watch any HBO, Cinimax ect..movie at any time. But there is still a long way to go with this technology. They believe that it may be another 10 years before the cable companies will be able to deliver these movies in digital format. The banwith levels are currently too low for this to be able to work properly, there would be too much congestion.
So...for all i know, 10 years from now, when this service is finally availible, GZFX may be 75$ There is currently NOTHING to worry about with the rental industry. Digital In Demand has a loooooong road ahead of it!
go to google, enter video games....then look at right for sponsored links, you will see veegeez. now enter video game rentals. now you will see veegeez at top of page under sponsored links.

Just found this on Geek.Com and thought it was very interesting. This may give any doubters an idea of how long this stock may continue to climb. 2008-2010!!!!
Gaming could be $35 billion industry by 2008 Handheld gaming alone may be a $25 billion per year industry. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- posted 2:40pm EST Wed Feb 04 2004 - submitted by Sander Olson BLURB A report by Juniper Research is predicting that the console market will generate US$35 billion in revenue per year by 2008. Sales of current Xbox and PlayStation 2 consoles are falling, and will probably continue to fall for the next two years since the market is largely saturated and consumers are waiting for the next-generation consoles. The introduction of the Xbox 2 and the PlayStation 3 consoles should not only spur another upgrade cycle, but may substantially expand the console gaming market. Nintendo's unnamed next-generation device will also enter the fray, and the market may be able to support three different consoles. By 2008 a wide variety of PlayStation 3 and Xbox 2 titles should be available, and both broadband Internet access and HDTV sets should be commonplace. Both Microsoft and Sony are excited about the concept of convergence, and are confident that even non-gaming consumers will find these gaming consoles useful for a variety of tasks. Moreover, the burgeoning market for handheld gaming may be as high as $25 billion by 2008. Even if the Juniper prognostications turn out to be excessively sanguine, it is clear that the computer gaming market is growing rapidly. It is conceivable that the gaming industry could be bigger than the broadcast television and movie industries combined by 2010.
