Scott...have to knock your post. I know its a very old post but if you own...I would run for the hills. ABK could file BK. I compared ABK to another stock FBC and saw many similarities. Wonder if FBC is debating on BK too?

Anyways...Congrats to all who still own SIRI. Wish I had my ship filled with it. Just have a small boat of it.

AMRN...just throwing it out there for debate. I have owned this stock for about 5 years. Down lots of $$$ but its in 401k so don't really care. So, who thinks it will go back up substantially? Sure would be nice to see it jump back into the $40's.

Anyways...I have been away for a long time. So haven't paid much attention to stocks. One day I'll be back in action. Been busy with family, flipping cars, sports betting and looking into flipping foreclosures. Way too many houses for sale for cheap. Not enough people with good credit to buy a home and banks want 20% down for those people. So thinking this: get house appraised...mark it down 20% so buyer could put zero down and have 20% equality just signing the sales agreement. That would meet the banks required 20% for less then good credit. Any thoughts?

The 3 stocks you just posted...the charts all look the same basically.

So, name some stocks that are blue chips that everyone likes. Range of $12-150 a share.

I mostly hunt under $5 R1 but I'll try and spread it out a bit more if i find something i like. Watching to see if some start showing a retrace. I'm tempted to sell everything and just wait till after New Years but will likely just shorten my swings even more. Maybe there is a chance for the bears to start taking soome short positions on plays like MEE, LSI, MU and JBL - I don't short so just throwing those out there for you to look at. FAZ seems to be setting up again teasing the bears. I know a couple weeks ago i thought it was just dumb money pushing the market up and left almost everything on the sidelines while everyone else was rakin in the $$. QE2 certainly put a push on things. If it weren't for uranium taking off I prolly would still be shaking my head lol. And now, as I am looking for a retrace we'll prolly take right off for a 12k dow! lmao - don't think so.

Hey fellas, whatup? been busy doing other things myself. R1-NO ABK for me! When they have been bouncing like they have been I equate it to trouble. and, as we all can see, they are in a BOAT-LOAD! I've been totally blowing it on SIRI. Shoulda have been sticking with them all along like I've done in the past. Hopefully I will eventually get back on track, there's still money in there. I totally picked F a few weeks ago. I said they would go up and easy 5%, look at them now! More like 20%. I'm sure there will be a day that I actually trust my instincts....Damn it!

ROCK ON GUYS!

Hey Morph, I've been off doing other things but, still paying attention. I'm not able to be here during the day but, I check things out in the morning and evening. Although I always appreciate your advice. So stick around! One day I'll figure all of this crap out and I actually will be MIA---on vacation. I like your advice about "hope". I've always said (in the back of my mind) If your using words like "hope" and "wish" you probably don't know what your doing and you need to re-think your plan. Selling at a loss sucks but, it can easily get worse.

Raj, Sju Glenn where are you weiners at?? Whatcha tradin??

I'm still in FAZ for the last few weeks TJ. Took the big hit a few weeks ago (I should have known)and I have been holding to see if I can make up for the loss. I will probably close the position for a loss soon if it doesn't move soon.

Can someone explain to me what the differance is between GM and MTLQQ?? Why is MTLQQ still trading on the OTC, and why did it not become a part of GM?? I've been under the impression that MTLQQ (basicaly) is GM and when they were to be re-listed on the NYSE they would become GM and be trading at whatever low dollar figure that it would push to.

Appearances can be deceiving. Just take General Motors Co.'s (GM) stock. The last price at which it traded before the company declared bankruptcy in June 2009 was 75 cents. In contrast, its share price at its IPO this week was $33. This has prompted some to conclude that shareholders who persevered in holding their stock throughout GM's bankruptcy turned a very handsome profit. How wrong they are, of course. The shares of the old GM and the new GM are completely unrelated. In fact, shares of the old GM--now called Motors Liquidation Co (MTLQQ) --closed Thursday's trading at just 18 cents each. And it's unclear why anyone would even pay that much for those shares. That's because Motors Liquidations's debts exceed its assets by several orders of magnitude. Ben Branch, a finance professor at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, who has studied the performance of companies' stocks as they enter into and eventually emerge from bankruptcy, told me that there is "no way in hell that the shareholders of the old GM will get anything of value from their shares other than wallpaper." "They'd have to discover a lot of oil under one of the old GM plants" in order for the shares of the old GM to have any intrinsic worth, he added. Investors who persist in buying the stock of Motors Liquidation--including those who bought nearly 28 million shares on Thursday alone--are therefore simply being irrational, in Branch's opinion. Are investors on any more solid ground when buying shares of the new GM? Perhaps, since for them at least a plausible story can be told in which the company's earnings grow sufficiently to support a rising stock price. So they're not being outright irrational. Still, the historical data suggest that the odds aren't great that such a story will end up with a happy ending. According to Jay Ritter, a finance professor at the University of Florida who is one of academia's leading experts on IPOs, the average company that went public in this country over the last four decades ended up significantly lagging the market over its first several years as a publicly traded company.

I think I found my answer.

Hilarious/scary/true video Morph. And in my opinion---anyone that bought GM at 35 bucks is gonna be waiting a long time to make anything out of it.

Easy one to answer. Its the same store like K-Mart but listed with a fancy BS addition. I had over $17,900 in KM stock at $0.48 a share buy in thinking that once the BK is over it would be worth mega $$$ Same with Hayes Lemmerz...$10,000+ at $0.02 a share. They both emerged from BK and I got $29,000+ F*'ed.

So the answer is this...its the same company period. However, they change the name slightly, screw everyone and start over with out any debt.

Hmmm...think I could go to court and change my name to Billy from Bill and tell the credit card company, mortgage company and everyone else I am not Bill anymore but a new person names Billy and I no longer owe them debt...that Bill does and he no longer exists.

Hope that helps explain it.

Ohhh here is one I hope someone can answer. When a person files Chapter 7. They get their slate cleaned however...all the creditors now get to give the filer a 1099 form claiming the debt that was written off is now considered income and Taxes are due. So when a company does this...do they owe taxes like general people do???

Thanks Bill(y). It was mostly cleared up after I did a little research with the info that I posted but, you have clarified it a little further. And, on that note I'm changing my name to Scot with just one T. Ba$^ard$!!!
