Morpheus, I have to admit you got balls and money to make with your picks... I know this is the market to make money and you are doing it , my problem is I dont have enough in my account to even get a margin acc let alone 25k for daytrade status, and even if I did I cant find the stocks like you seem to find.. Way to go Morpheus and keep it up, sounds like you will have a million bucks by the time this market turns around...And good posting for people who cant find their own picks..

Morpheus, i have a few questions for you ; Do you set a sell price or percentage as soon as you buy and do you just target a certain amount like $200.00 bucks then get out? Also what percent do you set as a stop loss? Thanks for any info..

i do not buy margin..only my own mola..as for picks..sectors are the way to go..just play what is moving with volume and buy on the big dips..now real formula..just try to preserve my total capital and if something pops up..i say to myself..what is the risk/reward from this point..i like the bigger quality compainies and the efts..like MON MOS POT MSFT X ..DIG DUG UYG SRS SKF,,also play the odds..after 5 big down days in the dow "what are the odds"..its luck and well as money managment..small percentage of your total portfolio at a time..if it goes against you..you say "boy, im glad I only had that many shares" if it goes your way..you find your self saying "boy, i should of had more"..take your profits when they are there and try to gain a feel for the direction overall..thats about it..lately, i have been buying too early and selling too early..missing out on lots of upside movement..but thats how it goes

gary..it used to be pretty cut and dry..but just in the lastr 3 weeks ..all traditional thinking has gone out the window..things like "oil up' airlines down" and vice versa..this is because the airlines are hedged into contracts of oil at higher prices than from here cause oil dropped so quickly..GM and F.."are they going out of business" im betting NO..so buy on the dips..REAL ESTATE..buy on the dips and sell even little profits..build for the future and get a feel "if at all possible these days" for avoiding the BIG down days and when they come..nibble away to "cost average" try not to get too many different plays going at once..very hard to follow..quality and concentration of stocks..3 to 5 at any one time max..one play i really like is buy tons of MSFT on the big dips ..like today is a good example..so i just pumped 12K into..a very big % of my portfolio..but I feel good that they are gonna be around in the future..AAPL is a good play for this too..12K with a 10% up move up..thats 1.2K you now have to speculate on more risky stuff..

Gary..5K is a good base of funds to work with ..and just keep your buys no more then 1k a pop..build it up 1 to 2 hundred bucks at a time..if you want to play the day trade game..another strategy is put 50% into MSFT on a day like today..(kinda like money in the bank with a great return)it move slowly and not as labor intensive in watching the move, like other big swingers..and trade with the other 50% on more spec plays, being in tune to the "big picture" I follow site like finviz.com and ibankcoin.com, the fly is very arrogent, but a good source of ideas..he claims to trade millions of bucks, and changes his thinking quickly, hence his name.. on the "fly" ..on the thread..R1 is a great resource too..he might not think so but I value his input too..

im liking as a mid term spec play right at this point ...Ford..symbol F..i really did not think it would be back at this level on such a big pullback..but here it is..so im adding to my position right about now

Thanks or the info Morpheus,I have a 200 sh of F as well BUT I got in on dips the last 2 days with an ave pps of 2.47 including buy fees ,and I will have to hold , I am pretty sure it will go back up But ,with the market the way it is you never know it might be a few weeks.. I have been just trying to flip most of everything for the last few weeks for little gains here and there without holding much overnight, now i held F and its dropping again.. Thanks For all the info...

gary..you talk of buy fees..i know you are useing an online discount broker..im with scottrade, very happy with there platform..real time tick charts and good fills.. 7 buck limit orders..blah blah blah..if you are not ..get with them..

anybody notice ..UAUA is up over 50% int the last 5 days..WTF..boy did we miss the boat..IS IT going higher?? im long on oild at this point with DIG so UAUA would be a condrrary trade to this.. hmmm what to do what to do??

Thats who I use Morpheus , just 7 bucks a trade,, also help a little last week they gave me 7 free trades for signing up a neighbor to an account..so that was 49 bucks ahead as well last few weeks..
