I rode this from .86 to 1.02 the other day. Lots of volume, good liquidity. The intraday chart looks like it wants to test 1.05 resistance again.

Here's the other thread on STSI.

Are you holding overnight?

I'd like to contribute a couple of ideas for a swing trade. I've been in and out of these two stocks with good results.

IVAN - it had a nice +60% swing, peaking around 1.90 or so. Down today, and I think it might go as low as 1.65 over the next few days. Perhaps a play for next week?

The other one is SGN - January was all a +107% swing, on a series of strong positive news. Reached 2.20s. It based all last week, and now it looks like some folks have lost their patience. It's down to 1.77 today. It might scrape as low as 1.50, maybe.

I'm out of both these stocks at the moment.

I definetly don't think STSI is done, I think it just needs a day or two to retrace and it should shoot back up to $1.20-1.30 I would say.

SGN should find support around $1.50 but that might be a few days off. As for IVAN its not even in consideration right now for me as its way out of range I believe.

There are three stocks I'll be looking at tomorrow. STSI to hit around $.86 or so and hold, I'll probably buy at the EOD if I'm going to buy it. The others are PRLS which I would like to pick up close to $2.10 and sell at $2.30. Lastly, EGHT which I would try to pick up around where its at if it holds strong most of the day. Not a ton to be gained out of this one though as I would be looking to sell in the low low $1.50's. My first choice is STSI I just hope I don't get stuck when financials come out! Most of these will probably be EOD for me to see how strong they still are no morning buys on these for me. GLTA hope everyone is doing well!

Here is a nice little tip [Smile]

DCX.......DaimlerChrysler........On Feb. 14th....V-Day they will announce their turn-around plan which should include BUY-OUTS. Should be around 10,000 or more Buy-Outs. Ontop of that.......they should announce some plant closings.....rumors say St. Louis which makes Dodge Ram 1500/2500/3500/etc, Deleware plant which makes Dodge Durango and Chrysler Aspen, and a stamping plant in Ohio by Cleveland. There are also rumors that they may close Mack which makes engines. Rumors that they will add a 3rd shift to Sterling Heights Assembly where they make Chrysler Sebring and I think the new Dodge Avenger.......not sure.....but someone should go back and look at GM and FORD when the BUY-OUTS were announced. If my thinking is right.......I believe we might see a 10% spike. Not sure.....I know stock holders LOVE when a company cuts jobs. Reason is: It adds PROFIT MARGIN. Cost of production verse output. Well, I worked 44 hours in 3 days so I have no free time to check the facts. But what I posted are all RUMORS.......quoted out of the Detroit Free Press.

As soon as I know what FORD and GM stock did.....If I'm right on the thinking I'm dumping $20,000 in DCX.

STSI.....it closed at $1.00 so I'm confident that it will go up even more. Sell is in at $1.07. I just want $200+ profit....don't have to be greedy. You could see high 80's next week if something happens but I think it will go up even more. I think $1.15 will be the turning point.

DCX could be good, if those rumors are true. Just yesterday similar play with Circuit City which announced restructuring:

"Circuit City shares tracked higher by 5.2%, reversing four sessions of declines, to settle at $21.67 after announcing that it will shutter stores and restructure its operations."

Goodyear (GT)also had similar results after closing some plants. Take a look, they've been going up for the past 6 months.

jo

Thanks for the heads up.

Hi all,

I've been participating on the other boards a while, but have discovered I tend to like swing trades. Would you mind sharing any particular sites or scans that you use in finding ones to trade?

Thanks!

Well, TVIA made a 20% run today!

After doing more research on POTP I'm taking it off my list as the company is selling shares at $.73 So, I doubt it will get above that anytime soon.

If SFUN holds this low tomorrow it should be alright.

ACTC might trade between its 5ma and 20ma. If it breaks the 20ma watch out.

Might want to throw a buy order for GTW out at $1.85 and see if it hits and takes off. Looks like a good channel from $1.85-$2.05

Keeping an eye on that ACTC also.

SFUN is looking pretty strong should make some decent money on it.

Also, if you want a little bit more of a gamble check out NFI.

R1 nice play, have you figured out how loaded you would be if you would have bought the $70 Calls? $321,600. Yesterday the $70 calls were going for $.05 and today they closed at $.80 Keep an eye on GOOG. I think Friday I will be buying some $470 calls hopefully for around $8.50 or so. Looking for a quick 20-30% pop on those by mid next week as I see it going to around $480.

Tomorrow morning I'll be watching PRZ if it holds $.77 in the a.m. I'll be jumping in at $.78 Looking to get out around $.85

WEDX looks like a good buy around $1.17 but after doing a little research they have financials coming out AH tomorrow. I don't like to gamble, but for anyone that likes to. Institutional Ownership has went from 2% to 12.7% over the last few days. I'm thinking even if the financials are bad the stock may go up, but I'm not going to risk any cash.

Yesterday GOOGLE was up about 1.5% going into the close and I debated on buying the $460 March puts b/c the price was pretty far away from the 5MA at $465 and I figured it would retrace today. I decided not to buy the puts b/c I'm still learning about options, but if I had the $460 puts closed up 40% today. So, I'm saying I wish I would have listened to my instincts. Because not listening to them lately has been an expensive opportunity cost of about 100% over the last 2 weeks for me. I tell my dad about everyother day, well I meant to wake up and buy this stock and it closed up 8%, 10%, 20%, and now another 40% with these options. I need to stop partying b/c its costing me a boatload of money now! This morning I was going to wake up and pick up AFLI at $2.40, but I was hung-over from partying last night and it closed at $2.50 and I think it will continue to climb. I might still try to get in tomorrow, I just don't really like the volume on it.

Oops maybe you meant what are you talking about for the DCX comment...I hate it but I always play the go back in time, woulda-coulda-shoulda game. Since you were right about the DCX stock going up, I was just saying how much cash you could have made if you bought $20k worth of the $70 calls on DCX instead of the stock. The stock went up almost 10%, but those options gained 1500%. You would have made a cool $300k! I'm not saying you were wrong for buying the stock, I just meant wouldn't it have been nice to know it was for sure going to go up that much, so you could have bought the options.

Hell, I wish I knew about options about a year ago. My friend had an inside into RACK and he knew the earnings were going to kill it. The stock rose 20% over night, but I bet the options made thousands of % gain. Would have been nice to know about them then [Frown]

HSY........HERSHEY!!!!!!!!! Next big gainer for Friday. Can't buy either......have all my money in the wrong side of ML.......stupid......have to transfer money from core funds section into the free stock section.......that takes a day or 2.

HSY.......$52.10. Reducing workforce like DCX by 1,500. Which means stock should spike today. I will predict $58.50-59.75.

Here is the link:

I've been doing some research on options and if you have extra gambling cash you can turn it into some serious bank! I think people make too much out of options w/strike price, exp. date, puts, calls, etc.

The reason I'm really starting to like them is because I'm about 80% accurate on determining if a stock will go up or down the next day (if its at the top or bottom of where its been trading) ie the other day is was pretty easy to see that google was going to go up on weds. and I thought it was easy to see that it was going to go down today. Now what I'm liking w/options is I don't have to predict that it will be up in 6 months, 1 month, 1 week, 3 days, etc. If I think its going up or down tomorrow I can buy a call or put accordingly. Also, I don't even need big moves, if google looks like its moving down tomorrow about 1% or so you can see that you can make 40% return trading the options.

BTW, DELL made more money trading options w/their cash than they did selling computers!!!

When I get some free cash I will be buying options. Until then if anyone wants anymore info on them let me know. I might even post some plays if ppl want.

Maybe I'll buy some $50 calls, they are going for $2.25 right now. If your right they could hit $5.00 easy. I hate buying on news when the stock is already high though.

Ok heres one for tomorrow or if not tomorrow monday. The $70 puts for DCX. That stock looks pretty maxed out and I would have a hard time believing its going to hold up over $70. I believe the $70 puts for March are $1.70-1.75 I'll be watching this stock closely tomorrow too.
