It's nice being able to find one stock per month that runs the way these have.
A thing of beauty.

CORRECTING and REPLACING Force Protection, Inc. Announces $41 Million Equity Financing Monday July 24, 6:28 pm ET
LADSON, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 24, 2006--Please replace the release with the following corrected version due to multiple revisions. Force Protection, Inc. (OTCBB:FRPT - News), manufacturer of the Buffalo and Cougar armored vehicles deployed with U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, today announced it has closed on a private placement of 8.25 million shares of common stock, generating gross proceeds of $41.25 million. The securities were sold to a select group of institutional investors, including John Hancock, at $5.00 per share with no warrants. C.E. Unterberg, Towbin acted as Force Protection's exclusive placement agent.
"We are extremely pleased to make this announcement," said Force Protection CEO Gordon McGilton, who noted that this round of financing would help the company expand its production capabilities to meet expected demand. "The working capital generated by this financing will allow us to maintain focus on delivering armored vehicle technology to support U.S. and Coalition troops in Iraq.
"We appreciate the investors who have participated in this financing. Their efforts will help ensure that more lives are saved by the cutting-edge blast protection technology incorporated in the Buffalo and Cougar vehicles."

Any Thoughts on this news?
I guess my first thought is: what does it have to do with FHAL or CVSU? If you could let me know I'd sure appreciated it.

Member Rated: posted 07-24-2006 17:12 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- so is this Friday the day symbol changes or is it Monday? or does anyone know?
I would like to buy when funds settle Wednesday. I do have concerns however as Im sure lots do, especially us newcomers. Maybe some of the LONGS can help me:
There's many people talking of what option will be chosen. Seems like option C is the leading canidate, which is make this $15 with new ticker. ------------------------------------------------ 1) I would think all of FHAL shareholders would sell asap and take huge profits if that happened, while some would sell half and see whr new company goes. Which of course should send stock down, how far, not sure? any case, everyone should make good gain, even if they bought now.
2) If the option where they take the avg price happens, then everyone would lose a bunch of money, cause it would open much lower then it is now.
Im just wondering if the LONGS think this is still a safe stock to buy. I know with reward comes risk, but if anyone has been in this long, ur opinions on this stock are appreciated. thx!

chad..on this particular thread..I am not sure there are that many "longs"...but on the .10 and under thread there are several that claim to be "long"...I am sure most there would tell you that it is worth the gamble...
Taking the gamble is something that you have to choose...no one else...If you do decide to get in...make sure to take your original investment out ASAP...and then let the rest ride...but again..your call..

thx 10, i posted on other site, no replies.
It would be hard to fathom rufus going thru all this stuff and even being quoted in interview saying the new stock will come out at $15, if its supported, and then lie and go with option A.
My only nervousness is buying, then seeing the new ticker come out at less then it is now. (due to the average pps) i read about with I think option A.
It all seems to unreal....I'd be perfectly happy though with a 50% increase from my buyin point.
Im geussing you obviously are all in. TEX, whr do u stand on all this?
