Bloomberg reports on an incident from over a month ago and makes it sound like it happened today?!?! What a bunch of sh!t! If that wasn't purposeful, then what is it? Apparently somebody wanted to get in on this stock cheap, and it worked.

Thanks for the succinct thread here so that I could see just what went on today. (I can only imagine how many pages are over on IV!) That Bloomberg thing stinks. Like they decided to wait and hold news they knew about weeks ago and spoil FRPT's party.
I called TDAmeritrade once from the ski-lift and it just happenned to be when the PPS was in the $18's! Thank goodness it closed at a better place.

Yup kinda figured today would be bad, but as always this will take off again. Never fail. And more good new after hours and a nice little .29 gain. Tomorrow will be good.

Here's Bloomberg's "update". Definitely written to make it sound like the deaths were very recent rather than back in December. Made it also sound like FRPT was still claiming no fatalities up until today, which is UNTRUE. They stopped using that wording in their PR's around November 22. The General mentioned no "Marine" deaths in the hearings the other day. But he did not preclude deaths in other services. Besides the fact that the General is not from FRPT. To make it sound like FRPT was trying to hide something up until today was grossly unfair.
I'm sure the defense department would rather have the deaths not publicized so that FRPT could make the adjustments they needed to without the enemy knowing that they did cause fatalities.
Force Protection Inc. (FRPT US) fell $1.85, or 8.2 percent, to $20.60. The maker of mine-protected vehicles can no longer claim no combat deaths have occurred in its vehicles used in Iraq and Afghanistan after three U.S. troops were killed in an attack on one of the trucks. It has ``taken measures to better defend against the specific new device that was employed'' in the attack, which occurred between November and the end of December in either Iraq or Afghanistan, Michael Aldrich, a vice president of Force Protection said today.

Force Protection, Inc. Moves to NASDAQ Capital Market Friday January 19, 10:36 am ET
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Force Protection, Inc. (NASDAQ:FRPT - News) officially listed its securities on the NASDAQ Capital Market yesterday, commemorating the Company's listing by opening the market at NASDAQ's MarketSite location in New York City.
"We are thrilled to be here today," said Force Protection Chairman Frank Kavanaugh. "We recognize and deeply appreciate the efforts of Force Protection's executive management team, its investors, and workforce who have supported our mission to produce vehicles that protect and save lives, and who have made this important opportunity possible. We especially dedicate this moment to the men and women of our armed forces for whom these vehicles are built."
Shareholders do not need to take any action as a result of the NASDAQ Capital Market listing. Company stock certificates will remain valid.
Popular with troops who credit the vehicles with saving lives, Force Protection's Buffalo and Cougar blast- and ballistic-protected vehicles have an unmatched record for troop safety, protecting against attacks on vehicles led by improvised explosive devices and roadside bombs. Combined, the vehicles have logged more than 1.6 million hours of combat operations since their initial deployment with U.S. and Allied forces in 2003.

Repo...at $18 this stock far exceeded my expectations.
You have earned serious respect from me and I truly hope you enjoy the drive in that new car once the PPS you need is met. You certainly earned that as well!
Congrats!

Thanks Portman... I hope ALL of us who read ole Malloy's original thread make TONS of cash....
And I promise to tell all of you when I sell - I know how some of you care about that. To date, I've only flipped once (mistake on my part), and have sold 300 shares at $18 to pay some bills... other than that, THEY CAN'T GET MY SHARES UNTIL AT LEAST $30 NOW (and that may change).

Looks like a nice close and a good setup for positive territory Monday. My guess is FRPT will have a slow, positive climb until just before the contract announcement and then we will see some wild rides again.

Did anyone look at the S-3 filed on the 18th.. or the 8k.. Doesnt look like anyone did.
This could be the reason for the huge price swing.. 13 million shares but for sale by stockholders.. i dont know much about that type of dealings.. maybe its normal for a nasqaq move.
