Timothy Huff, CEO of GlobeTel, stated, "We are pleased with our overall performance. With the acquisition of the switch and expansion of our Los Angeles telecommunications facility, and the expected expansion of our Stored Value Card and VOIP Phone products in the third and fourth quarters, we are on track to be breakeven by the third quarter and profitable in the fourth quarter 2005."

Mr. Huff continued, "We have a strong cash position and balance sheet and all our projects, including the Stratellite, are expected to be fully funded. GlobeTel Announces Cooperative Research Effort on Fuel Cells with Proton Energy Systems
via COMTEX

July 13, 2005

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Jul 13, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

GlobeTel Communications Corp. (AMEX:GTE) today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Sanswire Networks, LLC has signed a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRDA) with Proton Energy Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of Distributed Energy Systems Corp. (Nasdaq:DESC). Pursuant to the agreement, Proton will provide assistance in developing a regenerative fuel cell energy storage system for Sanswire's high altitude Remotely Operated Airship (ROA), or Stratellite.

Under the agreement, Proton will provide prototype regenerative fuel cell (RFC) equipment and specialized technical support to Sanswire for the company's development and flight-testing of the Stratellite via a series of task agreements. Sanswire will provide the airship platform for testing and engineering inputs to tailor the RFC solution.

"We are very excited to work together with Proton Energy Systems. The RFC provides a key capability to enable the Stratellite to stay on station for long periods of time," said Timothy Huff, Chief Executive Officer of GlobeTel. "To power the airship overnight in windy conditions requires an energy dense storage solution, and the RFC has the potential to fill that requirement." Mr. Huff further commented that: "Pioneering advanced fuel cell technology will put us in an advanced position among others, in fact, we will be the first to employ this technology to the rigid airship. We will continue to partner with technology leaders to provide a low cost communication platform to the world."

Robert Friedland, senior vice president of Proton's hydrogen technology group added, "By working with GlobeTel, we see opportunities to further advance the state of the art for proton exchange membrane regenerative fuel cells by applying it to these innovative applications. We see great promise for this technology in future systems for Stratellite which require our systems to make hydrogen during the day from electricity generated from the sun and then regenerate it into electricity at night."

A Stratellite is similar to a satellite, but is stationed in the stratosphere rather than in orbit. At an altitude of 10 to 13 miles above the Earth, each Stratellite will have clear line-of-sight communications capability to an entire major metropolitan area as well as being able to provide coverage across major rural areas. Several Stratellites linked together could cover many hundreds of thousands of square miles. The Stratellite will allow subscribers to easily communicate in "both directions" using readily available wireless devices. In addition to voice and data, proposed telecommunications uses include cellular, 3G/4G mobile, MMDS, paging, fixed wireless telephony, HDTV, real-time surveillance and others.

About GlobeTel Communications Corporation:

That kinda scares me a little bit that we don't have a fuel cell all ready made. I'm wondering if Timothy Huff is trying to buy up a bunch a shares in the next month or two? They had an awesome PR yesterday followed by this one here today. I wonder how much they are paying DESC?

DESC is the one to buy today.

I think maybe you can't see the forest because of the trees. This PR has a lot more implications that are not apparent on the surface. Also I believe they have Fuel Cell technolgy in place, but are partnering with Proton Energy to, "By working with GlobeTel, we see opportunities to further advance the state of the art for proton exchange membrane regenerative fuel cells by applying it to these innovative applications. We see great promise for this technology in future systems for Stratellite which require our systems to make hydrogen during the day from electricity generated from the sun and then regenerate it into electricity at night."

Here is excerpt from an article about Proton Energy from about a year ago. Do you see any connections forming?

Proton Energy Systems, has entered into two contracts with NASA and the United States Missile Defence Agency (‘MDA’) for the development of lightweight unitised regenerative fuel cell technology for unmanned aerial vehicles and for the development of lightweight regenerative fuel cell technology for high altitude airships, respectively. NASA through this partnership hopes to demonstrate the feasibility of producing and operating lightweight unitised regenerative fuel cell hardware to meet the needs of aerospace applications. Part of the regenerative fuel cell design will incorporate Proton’s core commercial hydrogen generator technology, which is capable of generating its own hydrogen at pressure. MDA on the other hand, plans to develop and demonstrate a hydrogen/oxygen regenerative fuel cell with lightweight packaging capable of high-pressure hydrogen and oxygen generation and multi-kilowatt power output. MDA’s contract is part of a Department of Defense initiative to develop a lighter than air, high altitude airship.

Sanswire Networks Signs Agreement to Deploy Stratellites in Colombia
Thursday July 14, 12:33 pm ET

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 14, 2005--GlobeTel Communications Corp. (AMEX:GTE - News) announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sanswire Networks, LLC has entered into a Joint Venture Agreement to deploy Stratellites throughout the country of Colombia.

The agreement with Florida-based Apogeo Enterprises Corporation calls for a total of five Stratellites to be launched over the Latin American country to build a wireless broadband network that would be the first of its kind in the world. Apogeo plans to invest a total of fifty million dollars ($50,000,000 USD) into the project. Funding would be based on a construction schedule to be set by Sanswire and would be released to Sanswire pursuant to the terms of the Agreement.

Timothy Huff, CEO of Sanswire parent GlobeTel, stated: "This is a wonderful opportunity for Sanswire. It shows that other parties around the world are as excited about the Stratellites as we are and are willing to step up to the plate in order to bring this state-of-the-art technology to their country."

During a recent trip to Colombia, Michael K. Molen, President of Sanswire's Latin American operations, and Jairo Rivera, Vice President of Business Development for Latin America, received strong support for the project from several high ranking government officials including Colombian President, Alvaro Uribe. Molen stated: "We met with the President at the Palace in Bogota and he was very gracious and told us that he would help us in any way that he could to bring this technology to his country."

A Stratellite(TM) is a high-altitude airship that when in place in the stratosphere (approximately 65,000 feet) will provide a stationary platform for transmitting various types of wireless communications services currently transmitted from cell towers and satellites. It is not a balloon or a blimp, but a high-altitude airship with a rigid structure.

The Stratellite is similar to a satellite in concept, but is stationed in the stratosphere rather than in orbit. Existing satellites provide easy "download" capabilities, but because of their high altitude are not practical for commercially viable "two-way" high-speed data communication. The Stratellite will allow subscribers to easily communicate in "both directions" using readily available wireless devices.
