What's up with GTEL. I was getting excited about it's upswing of late - now it is tanking. Opinions anyone?

Umm... Does "it's the holidays" suffice as an explaination?

most serious investors are happy to take 20% per year.... yes, the sky is the limit, and i play SOME very volatile stuff, but if you DD GTEL, and you see the size of the market cap, you should agree with me that 50% in a day or two was a phenomenal trade....
i think in a couple of years, this one COULD be right where SIRI is today.... that's why i never let it get too far down the watchlists....

I am new to investing and curious about these .OB and .PK stocks. Can these be traded thru ETrade or AmeriTrade or any online firm? Where can I find good place to start trading these "micro" stocks? I've been using Investopedia simulator to test my skills before going into the waters. With Investopedia simulator, I can't trade stocks under a $1.00/share. Are there other simulators out there that can handle "micro" stocks?

I use Investopedia Simulator. I am not aware of any simulator that can let you buy penny stocks. I don't use eTrade but Ameritrade will let you trade OTC stocks.

Thanks for the feedback! What kind of volume are you guys typically looking at with these penny stocks to make a decent profit?

GlobeTel Announces Sanswire Event Schedule for First Quarter 1/5/2005 9:42:00 AM MIAMI, Jan 5, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- GlobeTel Communications Corp. ( GTEL ) today announced updates and events schedules for the first quarter of 2005 for its wholly owned subsidiary, Sanswire Networks, LLC (Sanswire).
Timothy Huff, CEO GlobeTel Communications Corp, stated, "The interest in Sanswire's Stratellite technology is growing by the day. Given the amount of interest on an international scale, we had to expand our schedule to include various groups' timing issues and give everyone the opportunity to preview our revolutionary technology."
Mr. Huff continued, "We have had on-going discussions with several groups within the U.S. government and military concerning the rollout and use of the Stratellite. Further, we are in discussions with the other corporate and private groups, as well as foreign governments, who all have expressed interest in the development and commercial viability of the Stratellite."
The Partners and Technology Summit, previously scheduled for January 20 and 21, 2005, has been moved to February 20 and 21, 2005. Further, as a result of the increased interest and rescheduling of the technology summit, the launch date of the Stratellite prototype has also been rescheduled for March 25, 2005. This move enables the company to accommodate scheduling issues with attendees and to ensure that all issues are fully addressed prior to launch.
The summit is intended for technology partners, military, governmental and commercial interests to have an open dialog with Sanswire's management and engineers. The first of the two-day summit will be for presentations and technology meetings and the second day will include a visual tour of the constructed Stratellite prototype.
For information and invitation to attend the summit, contact Leigh Coleman at lcoleman@globetel.net. The summit is by-invitation only and is not intended for the general public. There will be a separate meeting for existing GTEL shareholders to view the Stratellite prior to launch. The details of that meeting will be released within the next few weeks.
A Stratellite is similar to a satellite, but is stationed in the stratosphere rather than in orbit. At an altitude of 10 to 13 miles above the Earth, each Stratellite will have clear line-of-sight communications capability to an entire major metropolitan area as well as being able to provide coverage across major rural areas. Several Stratellites linked together could cover many hundreds of thousands of square miles. The Stratellite will allow subscribers to easily communicate in "both directions" using readily available wireless devices. In addition to voice and data, proposed telecommunications uses include cellular, 3G/4G mobile, MMDS, paging, fixed wireless telephony, HDTV, real-time surveillance and others.
GlobeTel Communications Corp. (OTCBB: GTEL) today announced that its CEO, Timothy M. Huff, was among the senior management of GTEL in attendance at a meeting at the Peterson Air Force Base, United States Space Command Headquarters, in Colorado Springs, on January 11, 2005. The meeting was attended by several high level officers of the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army and also by liaison officers for National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Mr. Huff stated, "We are pleased and honored to have the opportunity to meet with distinguished officers of the United States Air Force and Army today to discuss the potentials of our Stratellite project. We look forward to holding further discussions with the different departments, who all have confirmed that they will be attending the summit to be held on February 21 & 22, and the launching of our prototype, Sanswire One, on March 25, 2005." Mr. Huff continued, "We are also extremely excited to have the opportunity to be of service to our great country, while continuing our quest to improve communication capabilities globally and create shareholder value, as I mentioned in my recent Letter to our Shareholders." Mr. Huff's Letter to the Shareholders of January 11, 2005, regarding the military interest in the Stratellite may be read at the following link: http://www.globetel.net/about/letter011105.html The company is also providing the link to Mr. Huff's Letter to the Shareholders of January 10, 2005, summarizing the results of the past two years' activities and plans for the year 2005: http://www.globetel.net/about/letter011005.html
