It’s news to Christine O’Donnell that the Constitution guarantees separation of church and state.

too many times, she has been told bythe boobs on the tube that there is none...

the truly sad part to me? everybody goes straight to the first ammenndment. Amendment are afterthoughts, and you can attempt to twist the First into sounding as tho there's no rules separating the Church from the state, just the state from the Church...

Article 6 is part of the original writings, and i t is very clear and unambiguous.

no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.

add the 1st ammendment to that and you get your {permanent} wall of seperaton.....

Did you see the clip of the debate between O'Donell and Coons in which she asks *where* does it say that in the Constitution?

i see you are still playing the dunce...

Obama spoke during the campaign about using predator drones in Pakistan, within a month? Bush began doing them...

now, it is possible he was already doing them, but they were all black ops...

however since Obama took office the number of attacks has risen dramatically..

that explodes the myth that he is weak on terror, since those targets are all terrorists...

there's plenty of things that have gone right under Obama... and some of the things that have gone wrong will always go wrong in Democracy.

IF Obama acts to "corrct" Chinas currency issues? That will be something that Bush refused to do, and Clinton helped implement. So far?He is getting closer thananyone ever has...

Glass, we were in Pakistan in 2003. I personally know this. What was Obama doing in 2003?

i personally know we were too, we let Osama get away there cash...

who knows? the next Predator might get him?

what changed with Obama's suggestion was a national/internatioanl thing.

i gave you a fact, and you didn't refute it.

this is waht's wrong with American Politics today.

if you don't like the other party? evertyhhing they do is wrong, even if it's something that supports your personal views, (in htis case going after itnernational terrorists) you still won't acknowledge the accomplishment.

Obama campaigned specifically on delivering a health care bill and he did. It's a POS but nonethelss he was "mandated" to do it.

most of the people squawking about it are clueless...

you can show me all the polls in the world about how popular it was, but that's becaus eht GOP spent millions of dollars spinning it...

i watched old people stand up n town halls yelling that "they" better not touch their Govt Issued health care... because the GOP convinced them they would lose something that the GOP fought against giving them 45 years earlier...

do you not see how stupid that is?

i can show you Ronald REAGAN CAMPAIGNING AGAISNT social security and medicare if you don't beleive me.

Here is one of the new GOP tickets for the next presidential election. Palin/O'Donnell Birds of a feather. we could call the ticket Dumb and Dumber.

Whats is even crazier they are starting to take over the GOP.

Christine O’Donnell Not Sure If Separation Of Church And State Is In The Constitution
Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell (R-DE) is sure about a lot of things: condoms spread AIDS, evolution is “merely a theory,” and, of course, she is not a witch. However, when it comes to American legal history, O’Donnell is a little hazy. Yesterday, in a debate with Democratic opponent Chris Coons at Widener University Law School in Delaware, O’Donnell accused Coons of “constitutional ignorance,” saying “perhaps they didn’t teach you Constitutional law at Yale Divinity School.” But when Coons defended his position against teaching creationism by citing the First Amendment’s prohibition against establishment of religion, O’Donnell inquired, “that’s in the First Amendment?“:

Coons said that creationism, which he considers “a religious doctrine,” should not be taught in public schools due to the Constitution’s First Amendment. He argued that it explicitly enumerates the separation of church and state.

“The First Amendment does?” O’Donnell asked. “Let me just clarify: You’re telling me that the separation of church and state is found in the First Amendment?”

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,” Coons responded, reciting from memory the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

“That’s in the First Amendment…?” O’Donnell responded.

Later in the debate, O’Donnell stumbled when asked whether or not she would repeal the 14th, 16th, or 17th Amendments if elected. She asked the questioner to define the 14th and 16th amendments, adding: “I’m sorry, I didn’t bring my Constitution with me.”

“You actually audibly heard the crowd gasp,” said Widener University political scientist Wesley Leckrone, adding that her responses “raised questions about O’Donnell’s grasp of the Constitution.” Indeed, as Coons points out, the First Amendment explicitly states “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” But, as Keith Olbermann discovered, O’Donnell offered her own creative interpretation of the Constitution’s intent at a candidate’s forum last month: “I also want to clarify that it is not separation of church and state but separate from church and state.
But O’Donnell is not alone, nor an outlier, in her party’s understanding of the Constitution. As ThinkProgress’s Ian Millhiser notes, while Republicans love to wrap their actions in the Constitution, much of their agenda “is nothing less than a direct assault on America’s founding document.”
