I'm actually surprised he didn't fix the election/vote.... but don't be surprised if he does in the near future...

sources post reminded me of a good poem, a little culture for the masses.

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

-- Dylan Thomas

No, Chavez is like Bush. He'll rant and rage and threated and lie to the end.

(Or, in dubya's case, until very close to the end, when he will use the last few hours to concoct a list to pre-pardon and a lie that he thinks will make him sound honest in doing so. Thinking isn't one of his talents.)

Chavez has until 2012 to dismantle the government in place.
Using fear of the USA will be his cornerstone for change.
Hopefully our next Republican President will do a better job of foreign policy and show the world we need not be feared but respected.

Yes, by the time there is another republican president, that may be possible, but it will take many years until the world is going to believe much any United States president promises or says.

But for now through the intervening years, dubya and his supporting cast, the rubber stamp republicans, have given the world good reason to fear us and destroyed every reason to respect us.

And to make it even more inviting, if you'll add just a single $5 bill in addition with your order, I'll include a genuine engraved picture of the Father of our Country, George Washington, with your GasSavingWonder.

All is just Dandy here. Been the best year for me in the market ever, so far that is. We still have one month to go. Started concentrating on big board stocks for the most part. Bounces on the fallen home lenders made killer trades. Didn't hold a stock for more than two weeks at a time, flipping as I went.

Ok, so you've already got a GasSavingWonder and don't need another.

I understand that.

Since you have one, I'll let you in on the genuine engraved picture of the Father of our Country, George Washington.

Just forward me $5 and I'll send you your picture 1st class mail.

If you want one to hang on the den wall at home and another for the office, I'll let you have a cut rate, just $8 for the two.

"Which Demo candidate is going to bring us respect?"

I appreciate your concern for returning the U.S. to a position of respected stature among the Nations of the world, but it needs to parallel a realization that there is no republican candidate that can (and from the rhetoric of their campaigning, even wants to try to).

What Bgeesus said.. no Republican Prez after Bush will bring us that... so the world would respect a Dem prez more even if only for a short time... they have to undo the damage Bush has done in the last few years...

I don't think the world cares if our next President is Democrat or Republican. What the world communty is looking for is a person of integrity and insightfulness.

The Party issue is one of domestic importance, the question is will the next republican president recognize the values of the party or go off on a spending frenzy like this one.

Hopefully who ever does become President, they will be a better communicator than this one.

Lock, it's not just spending, he has dismantled our diplomatic corps, gutted their policy, and literally chased off hundreds of high level military personell that not only had integrity and the guts to stand up and say what they beleive is right? but they were CORRECT when they said it, and were sent packing.

it's too bad Joe Biden isn't running as a Republican. i think he'd win, and win the Presidency. Unfortunately? the Dems won't put him out there to run.
his plan is to break the country into three pieces and "keep 'em separated".

that's what works. [Wink]

What the heck is he doing now? I saw the pope do that as a blessing. What's Bush's motive? lol

And Rudie, that looks a little gay. Of course there's nothing wrong with that.

As long as it is by choice and you keep it a secret.

None of this unholy anti-christian nonsense about it being natural or part of the design of God's order, though.

I don't think the world cares if our next President is Democrat or Republican.
With the exception of perhaps Reagan (who wasn't a politician in my book but just a actor playing a part) most if not all Democrat presidents were well liked and/or more respected world wide then Republican ones since the beginning of perhaps the 20th Century imo. And I don't know what your experiences are with chatting with people from other countries but i chat with people in China, Russia, Italy, Ukraine etc. and all want to see a Democrat Prez be elected regardless of who..

quote:
What the world communty is looking for is a person of integrity and insightfulness.
From a politician? lol you are asking too much my friend... all politicians regardless of party in all countries are corrupt in one way or another.. some very little and some alot...

quote:
The Party issue is one of domestic importance, the question is will the next republican president recognize the values of the party or go off on a spending frenzy like this one.
no Republican since perhaps Nixon or before has ever done any real good for this country... usually just scandals and/or lies while stepping on the common person...

quote:
Hopefully who ever does become President, they will be a better communicator than this one. [/QB]
I can't see how any president can be any worst a communicatory then Dubya...
