We have the right to pursue happiness, but an individual's rights must be tempered against the group's (nation's) welfare.
A serial killer does not have the right to pursue happiness by killing innocent people.
Sometimes we assert an individual's rights above the group's rights when this best serves the group's rights - we allow people to call Bush a liar when Bush actually never told the public anything other than what he believed and even though most of the public do not think Bush lied to them. The group would like to not allow people to call Bush a liar but free speech is in the long term best interests of the group.
The question becomes: Does allowing gay marriage best serve the long term interests of the nation relative to the interests of a special interest group (Gays)?
If the harm to the nation, from Gay marriage, outweighs the benefit to the special interest group (Gays) then we should not allow Gay mariage.
So, what harm to the nation would be sustained if we allowed Gay marriage?
Religious arguments, about what God may or may not want, are irrelevant. Might as well argue about what Santa Claus would want.

And I think the best logical arguments show that allowing gays to marry may actually IMPROVE the nation. Do you want them spreading AIDs with anonymous sex partners or do you want them living happy financially contributing lives with a loving partner?

Besides, Glass! Jesus is God, God is Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is God, etc, etc, etc! Three in One! Jesus was there at Creation, along side God! He was there for the wars! The New Testament, is different, because God actually came to earth, as Jesus, in a human form, to get His point across! He isn't any different than the Father! Enough for now! Kevin, If a father, has sex with his six year old daughter, is it right? If anyone found out, she can say, oh, my Daddy loves me! We are very close! I love him too! She will usually lie to cover up the sex act, because her love for her parent, is stronger than the abuse! Psycologically, she is damaged, because she has been brought into a lifestyle, that she was unable to understand! She thinks that they love each other, and doesn't know it is wrong! She wants her fathers love! Do you think it is wrong? One sex sin, isn't any better, or worse than another one, in God's eyes! Christians are called, to love the sinner, hate the sin! If we are truly following God in our walk, we don't ever reject anyone! That doesn't mean we don't tell them when they are doing something against God's Word! If you can honestly deny that there is a power higher than you in this universe, than you are only kidding yourself, and someday, you will stand in front of the exact same creator that I will, and answer to each and every thing you've done wrong in your life, just as I will! I don't tell you these things, because I hate you, but because I care about you! That is the difference between you and me!

I don't like it either way, but that is the quote I heard! A dog at least loves you unconditionally, the way God does! I wouldnt want to insult God though, by calling him an animal!

how true that is.its amazing to me how some people feel the need to believe so fully in something so transparent a concept made up by men. everything they believe is written in a book that tells them how to live. its a huge cult--nothing more or less. may i also say--built with the blood of countless lives lost--needlessly. its a disgrace.

Someday, you will see Him face to face too! I don't HAVE to be obedient Kevin! I CHOOSE to be, because I love God! He loved ME enough, to send His only son to die for me, to give me eternal life, so why wouldn't I want to obey Him? He provides for my needs, and helps me through this stressful life! He is my Savior! I'm not ashamed of this! I am glad to follow Him! It isn't a cult! It is my Free Will! I'm not controlled by other people, or by evil! I choose to follow God's Word! That is my FREEDOM! I am not held down by society, or things! They don't control my life, and they aren't that important to me! What counts to me, is pleasing God, and loving others! Then comes the rest, because I am only a human, with human frailities! Some things are necessary to survive! That is all!

The US is turning into Soddom and Gammorra. God destroyed S+G. It makes me wonder about the end times as the US isn't mentioned in Revelations. I'm wondering what will ultimately destroy our nation as we aren't mentioned in the Bible during these times.
