Top 5 Stocks to Watch:

Tarrant Apparel Group (TAGS) @ 30 5/16: Tarrant is a provider of private

label casual apparel, primarily serving specialty retailers and

mass merchandise chains by contracting for various manufacturers.

Total revenues rose 31% and net income rose by 65%. Tarrant has

been beaten down recently by the breaking off of a joint venture

w/ Burlington Coat Factories that has caused a dramatic 50% drop

in their stock price. Before their venture, Tarrant was running

around 45$ a share, while BUR was losing money. With a PE of less

than 15, a price to sales of 1.05, and a three year growth rate

of 25% look for Tarrant to peak at 50$ by MAR 00.

Providian Financial (PVN) @ 95 7/8: PVN is a consumer lender that offers

a range of lending products, including credit cards and a variety

of fee based products and services. For the year revenues rose

65% and net income rose 102%. Providian has been beaten down

recently by complaint allegations against the company which are

currently being investigated. Off of its high of 138$ it is a

steal. With the highest profit margin 37% behind Microsoft, and a

growth rate expected to be double that of its industry PVN should

be beack around 155$ by the end of 1999.

Checkfree Holdings (CKFR) @ 47.06: CKFR provides electronic processing

services, institutional portfolio management services and

financial application software for financial institutions and

business. Revenues rose 5% and income rose 210%. Checkfree holds

a 75-80% monopoly in its field, with a 3 year expected growth

rate of 50% as compared to 30% for the rest of the industry.

Earnings are to grow over 600% in 2000. CKFR should reach 75$ by

early NOV 99.

Salton Inc (SFP) @ 42.63: SFP designs and markets a broad range of

kitchen and small household electrical appliances under such

names as Salton, Maxim, Breadman, Juiceman, Farberware and White-

Westinghouse. Revenues rose 57% and income rose 123%. Salton has

an unbelievably low PE of 12, a price to sales under 1, a growth

rate double that of its industry, a return on equity of over 80%,

and an un-retail like profit margin over 8%! SFP should peak at

75-80$ by years end.

Network Solutions (NSOL) @ 63.63: NSOL is a registrar of internet domain

names within the .com, .org, .net and .edutop level domains,

persuants to an amended cooperative agreement w/ the Dept. of

Commerce. Revenues rose 131% and income rose 140%. Well off its

52 wk. high of 153$ NSOL, with a profit margin of 12%, an

expected 3 year growth rate of 60%, zero debt, and earnings

growing by 100% this year, should no doubt hit 115$ by MAR 00.
