Age: I don't count years but people have been talking about me since the 1920's.
Trading: My family has bartered for generations with American Indians. Some Indians were so impressed by my family that they made stone likenesses of them back in 1500BC.
Worth: In 2005 Loren Coleman put a $1 million dollar reward out for proof of my existance. Didn't last long though as all the crazy's came out of the woodwork. I like to think I'm still worth that much or more.

Been trading almost a year. When I left my last employer I had 56 grand in a sluggish 401(k) which took four years to accumulate. I took out half (28k) for myself and rolled the other half into a T. Rowe IRA. I paid 8k in taxes for early withdrawl on the 28k I pulled out leaving me 20k in cash and the other 28k in my IRA. With my liquid 20k I bought 10k worth of .999 silver bullion at $7 an ounce last year. When I saw Warren Buffet was selling lots of his own silver at $13+ I did the same. I figured he knows better than me and I was right I doubled my 10k to almost 20k on that game.
With the other free 10k I made a 2k down payment on a new Elantra and threw the rest into the market with 8k back in November. I'm up to 14k at present but sitting on the side for now given the volatile bear market, MM games, black box trading, naked short madness, etc., etc., etc. Other than a few micro-caps I'm not much into the market right now. Still waiting & watching for things to turn around. happy trading

Age 40. Been trading for about 6 months. First couple months I was totally clueless and happy to make 6 or 8% a week and consistently did it. I watched my portfolio slowly grow and eagerly awaited the day I could start taking money out and buy myself something nice.
Then I discovered allstocks and realized the profit potential. I bought investing books and aggressively tried to learn how to trade well. Subsequently, I've been slaughtered and I now sit at a sizable (for my resources) loss.
Yes, one good well-managed investment can earn it all back, but I'm still sitting at the wrong end of a sharp learning curve. A year from now I expect to be very happy with my new, more aggressive style, but right now I want a week in Spain.

Before I started trading i took one or two of those introductory crash courses you see on tv for a coupla hundred bucks. I don't think I'm allowed to give names but they were very usefull and i learned a helluva lot. I still e.mail one of my instructors regularly in SLC, UT. What they DON'T teach you, however, is how the market moves almost as much on sentiment, PR, and MM crunch as it does on FA, TA, & DD. All are important and figure into the mix. Hang in there.
