I agree. A lot of times it seems that statements like these always go after that 'forward-looking' statement classification, and usually don't actually come through.
My advice is to wait until this stock finds bottom and stays there for a day or two, and then buy a little. Then if news comes out that they break off the agreement, then go in for some bigger bucks.
I'm in a little at .05, and am gonna wait to avg down till later. Not gonna chase this thing down today.

and if they are wrong they will be wiped out? because of this----------------subsequent to closing there will be no assets available for distribution to holders of the Company's Series AA preferred stock or its common stock. Exabyte intends to liquidate and dissolve immediately after the closing of the transaction.------------------ dont know just asking but thats what it sounds like!

exactly. if the deal goes through, this stock is worth 0.00000 (nothing)
if the deal doesn't go through, then the price should technically still be (or go back to being) .12-.14 again.

Reading the PR...seems like there is really no reason that shares aren't being "sold" into the open market..."they" have nothing to loose...over 3m trades on a 17m float and it is going down?
Be careful...I hope it moves up for all...

thanks blackbeard. it felt like so long ago that i forgot that i had read that earlier.
i'm assuming that's 17mil, not billion.. if so, then about 20% of the entire ownership has shifted today.. and i'm thinking a lot of it has been for normal investors to people like us on all these boards chasing such bouncers.
i have a weird feeling about this stock that makes me think good things will happen in the coming week or two with it.

i'm curious about something.. why the heck is Tandberg gonna buy Exabyte?
I mean, it seems like Tandberg's just gonna dissolve the company and pay off some of the liabilities of the notes, and that they won't really benefit at all from the purchase of Exabyte. Is Tandberg a competing company that just wants to buy them out and destroy the competition, or is something else going on?
oh, and by the way.... "The closing of the transaction is subject to the approval of Exabyte common shareholders at a shareholders' meeting that is expected to occur in October or November 2006. Under certain circumstances, the Agreement may be terminated by either party if the transaction is not completed by December 31, 2006." ... turns out we can turn it down if we want to.. just wait a couple of months.
i'm becoming more sure that this stock will rebound.

maybe the 'forward looking statement' PR was put out to create a mass sell off thus leaving millions of super cheap shares for insiders to buy the sh!t out of and then the 'agreement' doesn't go through and this thing goes to .20 :-) (conspiracy theory)
at least .03 is on the bid... one more tick up and i've at least made 10%

So how does this happen? Promise 51% of the shareholders some Tanberg stock or what? Otherwise I don't see anyone voting to make their share worthless.
