Universal Detection Technology Publishes Paper on the Threat of Bio-terrorism Five Years After the Anthrax Attacks of 2001, Are Our Buildings Ready for Bio-terrorism? LOS ANGELES, Sept. 15, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Universal Detection Technology (OTCBB:UDTT) (FWB:PO8), a developer of early-warning monitoring technologies to protect people from bio-terrorism and other infectious health threats, announced today that to coincide with the five-year anniversary of the deadly anthrax attacks in the united States, the Company has published a comprehensive paper on the biological threats facing the world and the steps taken to combat this threat. The paper focuses mainly on the vulnerability of buildings to an anthrax threat.
In October 2001, anthrax was sent through the mail and caused five deaths. Furthermore, thirteen others suffered anthrax infections. Today, bio-terrorism continues to be a threat. Recently in Los Angeles, there was a major simulation of an anthrax attack, and President Bush recently announced that in fact, there has been a foiled plot by al Qaeda operatives to produce anthrax. Additionally, no one has been brought to justice for the 2001 attacks and the origin of those deadly anthrax spores remains unknown.
"We have in the past five years continued our development of our Anthrax Detector, the BSM-2000 in conjunction with Caltech and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and have also recently begun to do site detection for bio-threats. Our newly formed consulting division is well positioned to offer public venues and buildings advice about the threat of terrorism with biological, chemical, and nuclear weapons as well as to recommend technologies and protocols for threat reduction and security risk management," said Jacques Tizabi, UDTT's Chief Executive Officer.
Universal Detection Technology is a developer of monitoring technologies, including bio-terrorism detection devices. The Company on its own and with development partners is positioned it to capitalize on opportunities related to Homeland Security. For example, the Company, in cooperation with NASA has developed a bio-terror 'smoke' detector that detects certain bio-hazard substances. will, iyo is this ready to pop. I've been reading and have on my radar but see your points along the way for the past month. Not getting thrilled just yet. Although we are at a buy point and well below last months resistance points. and what is with that drop in PPS after the PR, seems to happen frequently, the PR's nowadays don't blow up the skirts like most people logically expect. The rules have changed regarding post PR. whats your take?

Universal Detection Technology Ships Second Unit of Anthrax Detection System to Repeat Customer via COMTEX
September 18, 2006
LOS ANGELES, Sept 18, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ --
Universal Detection Technology (OTC Bulletin Board: UDTT; FWB: PO8), a developer of early-warning monitoring technologies to protect people from bioterrorism and other infectious health threats, announced today that it has shipped the second of two units of its BSM-2000 Anthrax Detector, to a repeat customer pursuant to a purchase order.
In 2003, the demand for bio-terrorism defense products and services was estimated at $4.8 billion. 19% of the current bio-terror market is accounted for by vaccines, biodetection equipment, protective clothing, and respirators. Demand for bioterrorism equipment and services is forecast to grow 16% annually, reaching $10 billion in 2008. The second growing market segment will be biodetection equipment where sales will grow from $345 million in 2003 to $1.9 billion in 2008, equal to a 41% average annual growth rate.
"We are excited and look forward to more widespread interest in BSM-2000 as we approach the 5 year anniversary of the anthrax attacks in the U.S.," said Jacques Tizabi, UDTT's Chief Executive Officer. "Our bio-terror detection units have been developed based on a technology licensed from NASA's JPL and has been used in NASA's Planetary Protection Program. BSM-2000 has been designed to utilize this technology to provide a real time air monitor capable of detecting abnormal levels of bacterial spores, an indication of a possible anthrax attack," he added.

Honestly though, the problem with this stock is that we probably need a catastrophic event for it to take off. We need an anthrax attack to attract attention. Very sad.
Hopefully the world will notice that preventative measures are needed BEFORE anything bad happens.
