With the recent terrorist attacks on Toronto Canada just recently spoiled, it only proved that terrorism will be an ongoing battle. Homeland Security will become the major theme and a continued focus as I think many have become complacent here in the United States and Canada. Though the war on terrorism is being fought overseas, it only takes another attack close to home to bring back the tragedy of 9-11. This is where the 400 billion in Homeland Defense funding needs to be distributed soon. Oil may be the talk for now but Homeland Security Stocks is where the smart money will be for the future.

Stocks that deal with government contracts and those most likely to receive the funding is what I am interested in finding.

We all already know HMSC, HMSG, HISC, ect, but I would like to find others that would be in a REAL position to grow with defense contracts and increased Homeland Security opportunities for the future.

Thoughts, stock plays???? Please don't post DDSI or some of the other loser stocks that are out there as I am talking REAL companies with REAL opportunities dealing with Homeland Security. Only serious investors apply [Razz]

Thanks for reading!

The "Homeland Security" sector (such as it is) has been flatlined for ages due to lack of funding.
If I didn't know better I'd say they were
all fixed.
However, if I had to pick one I'd watch MRKL.
Good numbers, lots of high $ DOD contracts,
and good backing.
With all it has going for it still trades * .016

Thanks, I am studying this one as well. I think with Summer upon us, the World Cup games starting this weekend, and upcoming Presidental elections in several major countries, this may be the time to move in on Homeland Security stocks while they are still cheap.

TORONTO - At least one member of a group of terror suspects plotted to storm Canada's parliament and behead officials, including the prime minister, if Muslim prisoners in Canada and Afghanistan were not released, according to charges made public Tuesday.

Authorities also alleged that in addition to targeting Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Steven Vikash Chand plotted to take over media outlets such as the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.

FYI: bank on boarder patrol funding to finally get released and to see other forms financial aid to roll into Homeland Security Companies.

if your looking for homeland security stocks look at HISC. THey going to pay a 50:1 dividend for their new OB acquisition called Actsoft who is also acquiring another company if not 2. Also i dont feel that their sole product line lies in homeland security. One product which you can purchase now called CYbertracker is a public GPS tracking device with voicecom which has been featured on ABC and other news channels. 100,000's have already been sold and most likely more because they are not reporting any news till the end of june when they are holding their shareholder conference. It is trading around .03 which is a low. check it out. It is the cornerstone of my portfolio.

Great find Rimasco, thanks! Sbrcow, I have been in and out of HISC for over a year now. Good company but the stock is seriously shorted by MM's who refuse to let it run. That is going to hurt their overall income as they are unable to get their stock to move in the right direction. I have noticed that HMSC is slowly moving up again. Expecting more acquisitions soon and the finalization of several others.

DDSI--due for a run.
From their last pr:

Digital Descriptor Systems, Inc. Announces First Quarter 2006 Results
Revenues Increase 485 Percent From First Quarter 2005
SEA GIRT, N.J., May 19, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Digital Descriptor Systems, Inc. (Pink Sheets:DDSI), an industry leader in the development of Homeland Security related products, today announced results for the period ending March 31, 2006. Revenues grew 485 percent, to $870,964, from first quarter 2005 revenues of $148,875. Gross profit rose over 450 percent, to $577,622, from $104,173 for the same period in 2005. All numbers are fully audited.

In March 2005, DDSI acquired Somerset County, New Jersey-based CGM Applied Security Technologies, Inc., a leading manufacturer and distributor of various Homeland Security products.

"Sales and profit numbers continue their steady improvement," says Anthony Shupin, CEO of DDSI. "This is a strong indication that our plan is working. We are committed to raising the bar for our security products and services. DDSI and CGM-AST products are state-of-the-art, and are being well received by the market."

DDSI CFO Michael Pellegrino adds, "Our operating losses continue to decline. When factoring earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, we are down 39 percent, to $122,600, from our prior year period amount of $184,708."

i think HISC can over come the shorts, they havent released news for almost 2 months, because they are holding out for the shareholder news conference. they used to release PR once a week and it was all very positive. Who knows how much business they have been doing for the past 2 months. This is a legit company with legit profits with a legit tangible product. this company barely even deserves to be on the pinks let alone shorted as severly as it is. The bomb will drop during the shareholders conference and the shorts will burn in hell and those with patience and faith in a strong company will be rewarded.

Geez, what is it going to take for those that doubt DDSI as being legit? LOOK AT THEIR SITE OF PRODUCTS BEFORE MAKING SUCH IDIOT STATEMENTS.

The reason for their lackluster perfomance is CDer's and SHorts which look to be out and that was primarlily due to them needing $$ for CGM.

For other issues that are not down in the pennies GEPT is my pick for major comeback. ISON I would stay clear from.

HMSC is being slowly accumulated. Another 1.1 million purchase at .0025. I believe this company will be at or over .004 by mid summer.
