Lil, have you swing traded this in the past 6 months with success???

Good Luck to ALL, as I really do hope this flies. I will be happy to congradulate you all. I just can't make the math add up in my head with the exception of the lottery ticket mentality. It appears to be diluted.

Once the audit is published, the pps may go up and IT WILL then become heavily daytraded.

net 10 firefly? never heard of em. im a (inter)national-consumer-advertising kinda gal. chaching!

now, am i wrong here? cuz when i see a good trade, even just a couple upticks, ill go in with 5 grand or more, take my ticks usually in the first half hour or hour of the day, and get out. my goal is always low, $400 cleared per day i play. it's just a hobby for me, so the less time spent the better (these chats are cuz i have a lot of travel/hotel time and am interested in learning) but $400 (on the low end) a few times a week is a nice lil bonus. it's just a game, i like the risk.

with Q i do hold my core position that i dont mess with cuz im a 2004 investor in that position. but ive bought and sold since on a couple small runs.

so forfun, are you saying im wasting my time? not a personal attack, im just curious. im still learning. im just a model (disclaimer) who likes to drive her accountant nuts. [Wink]

BB, no! By all means, a profit is a profit. But to clear $400 after all the payments are made, you would have to invest at least 5K for that flip with a .0002 to .0003 movement to clear your "MIN" profit.

If you were a "daytrader", isn't that easier with any stock that has movement. Typical day traders flip stocks (many different) with volume and pps movement.

My question was, if you regularly daytrady and would this be your choice of stock to daytrade? And, has this been flippable in the past 6 months on a regular basis?

on a regular basis absolutely not. but it does seem to tick up early before it ticks down... as of late not as much. with Q at least i know im not left holding the bag on a group play.
again, ive got my core position so i know if i miss a run im always in for a few mil.

ur rite i always put down 5g min. thx for the positive reinforcement on my technique tho [Smile] worked like a CHARM on NNNC early on! heah.

Congrats on NNNC. I feel really bad for this left holding it [Frown]

I don't think "Q" will ever die, I just think there are too many shares out there for it to run up as high as last time it really ran. That is unless the company audit shows less A/S or does a massive buy back.

Global Talent Search Launched By Gay Games Chicago 2006
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
August 24, 2005

Performers Sought for July 2006 Ceremonies at Soldier and Wrigley Field

CHICAGO, IL - For those who have dreamed of performing to a packed stadium in front of a live television audience, the Gay Games opening and closing ceremonies might be that break-out opportunity of a lifetime.

Chicago Games, Inc., the organizers of the 2006 Gay Games VII Sports & Cultural Festival, today issued a Call for Talented Individuals across a spectrum of performance categories for participation in the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2006 Gay Games. Gay Games VII will take place 15-22 July 2006. The opening ceremony will take place on Saturday, 15 July, at the 60,000 seat Soldier Field and the closing ceremony will take place on Saturday, 22 July, at the 40,000 seat Wrigley Field. Both ceremonies will be produced by Chicago-based Jam Productions, Ltd, and will be carried live by the Q Television Network throughout the USA with international live and taped feeds.

The global search for talent is on and the doors are open to enthusiastic and talented individuals interested in participating in the spectacular field performances being planned for these ceremonies. “If you’ve ever wanted to perform before tens of thousands of people in a huge stadium, this is a powerful opportunity,” said Kile Ozier, Ceremonies Director. “The Gay Games is a rare chance for the world to experience internationally famous entertainers along with an entire spectrum of athletes, artists and performers in an environment focused on societal change through sport and culture. We are seeking a diverse and highly talented pool of artists from which to draw performances that people will remember for a lifetime.”

Ozier, who delivered the Gay Games 1994 opening and closing ceremonies in New York, is known for the creation of compelling spectacle in civic arenas, stadiums and theme parks. He is gathering an accomplished corps of choreographers and dance community icons to collaborate with him in the creation of powerful field performance for the 2006 ceremonies.

Already on board are Joel Hall, creator and director of the legendary Joel Hall Dancers, and Kevin Iega Jeff, founder of the Deeply Rooted Dance Company; both of Chicago. Broadway choreographer and former Radio City Rockette Michele Lynch has joined the team. Lynch brings worldwide experience choreographing Broadway touring productions and was a part of the crew for the 1994 Gay Games.

All types of artists are asked to participate in this call. The primary focus during the first round of review will be on talented dancers, gymnasts, aerialists and performers of movement. All artists should submit their CV and demo disc (CD or DVD) to Kile Ozier, Ceremonies Director, Chicago Games, Inc., 4753 N. Broadway, Suite 602, Chicago, IL 60640 USA. Please, no phone calls, emails or faxed documents. Submitted materials will not be returned. Artists who may have submitted unsolicited materials previously should resubmit their materials in the identified format.

About Gay Games VII
Gay Games VII Sports and Cultural Festival will take place 15-22 July 2006. Over 12,000 athletes from more than 100 countries will compete in 30 sports ranging from softball to ******port, swimming to tennis. The weeklong event will include band, cheerleading and color guard performances, chorus, an ancillary arts festival, and a series of community-organized social events and parties. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 15 July at Soldier Field, the lakefront home stadium of American-style football’s Chicago Bears. Closing ceremony will be 22 July at Wrigley Field, the home of Major League Baseball’s Chicago Cubs, located in the heart of Chicago’s largest LGBT neighborhood.

For the first time, the Gay Games in Chicago will receive widespread television coverage on the Q Television Network. Early sponsors of Gay Games VII include PlanetOut/Gay.com; Q Television Network; Orbitz; Sydney New Mardi Gras; McKnight Kurland Baccelli; Mate, Genre, Pink and Girlfriends Magazines; Windy City Media Group; and more than 70 business sponsors.

Registration for Gay Games VII is now open at http://www.GayGamesChicago.org (English), http://www.GayGamesChicago.org/es/ (Spanish), http://www.GayGamesChicago.org/fr/ (French), and http://www.GayGamesChicago.org/de/ (German).

they have re-filed the law suit against James Coughlin, Internet alias "IrishJim44," for claims totaling the amount of $18 million.
Why did they drop the lawsuit in the first place?

Also, this guy hasn't been convicted either, so it's not simple enough to pass judgement yet.

quote:
Fact kids, market makers are REQUIRED by law to be on the SHO list if shorting a stock. QBID is not there and never was. Do the math and there will be alot of questions as to the A/S and O/S. Numbers are there for the counting.
At the risk of being called a pumper, I'm going to take issue with this argument. I was not aware that Pink sheet stocks needed to be on the SHO list. If there *are* any pinks on the SHO list, I'd be interested in seeing which ones are. Thanks.

quote:
audit will kill all irrelevant theories about qbid and make it go to the next level..plain and simple...no bs...this is what the big guys say.
Excuse me while I roll my eyes at the thought of Frank actually releasing an audit. Hell, he hasn't even given us a timeframe to be off the Pinks yet.

quote:
I have!! Average volume 300 MILLION per day x 5 days per week = 1.5 BILLION per week. X 52 weeks is WELL OVER the 50 Billion there claims to be.

At the risk of sounding like a pumper, I highly doubt dilution has been that much. In fact, I would suspect that for the month of August we've only seen maybe 200 million (about $320K) in dilution or so. Frank did buy the studio, which should help in cutting costs, and thus dilution, but how much it will help he has yet to tell us.

Qbid will start rallying tommorrow; everything is pointing to it

2million shares and adding

November was a pretty hot month for QBID on the forums as well: http://65.109.220.3/stockmessageboard/ubb/Forum8/HTML/010134.html

I still stand strong on my claim that this will touch .0012 before rising again. We'll see a solid day of .0013 trading almost certainly before it rises to .0019ish or so and then falls again.

quote:
Renee: You know that we have announced a 2% buyback of our stock. Which amounts to about a billion shares. We’re buying 2% of our shares back, we’re in the process of doing so and I believe we are more the 60% through. Some of that, that you see in the market is us, buying back and returning to that _____
Anyone know what 100% of the O/S is if you buy back a billion shares by only buying 2%? Now, it's not likely they were really at 50 billion at that point, but this "5 year guaranteed financing" crap might have been one of the big lending firms giving them money in exchange for being allowed to short their shares to oblivion. If that's the case, then all QBID needs to do is get fully reporting, acknowledge there is 50 billion shares outstanding, and use the money they get on a monthly basis to buy back the shares that Cornell and/or these other firms are diluting with.

It happened to Michelex, so it wouldn't surprise me if QBID is in the same position.

One thing is certain, Frank *KNOWS* why the PPS is dropping, and no dumbfounded looks on his face are ever going to convince me otherwise. The fact that so many in here buy him not knowing is what really gets me. You guys need to be a hell of a lot harder on Frank than you are. Richard needs to be finding straight answers for us.

Oh and one more thing, to nip this all in the bud before Frank gets any wise ideas: If Richard ever loses his jobs or leaves, I'm selling my whole position. I would encourage you to do the same. That gives Richard power *OVER* Frank, and lets him get the straight sh*t from him. Keep that in mind folks.

wow is something major going on or what???i get back today and there is like 6 pages i have missed with new bashers comin on and older bashes comin out of the woodworks...so many comments about daytraders and such that are so ridicioulous i dont want to even comment about

let me just say forfun, that i daytrade, (my main source of income) and i trade with many other daytraders and one of the main stocks that daytraders love to make money off of is QBID...and no i disagree with you, getting in at an RSI of 30 and throwing down 10-20K on the stock, and getting out about 50% profit, in say a month then yes this is how it is done and this is why QBID is heavily daytraded..

and let me also say that there are days where i only make like 100 bucks and im fine with that,,any time when you can make money sittin on you but havin fun, you take it...i aim for 500 a day, which turns into 130K a year (took the quote from ilikebbstock)
sorry for harpin, just thought it needed to be clarifed..

anyways Q is really heating up and i just hope that my orders will be filled at 12 and 13!!kinda crazy when your askin for MM to scare more traders out of the stock!!way to much buyin pressure today (mustve been 95% buyin today!) but every time i saw a buy i was thinkin, dangit guys, stop buyin!!!!ahahahahh

Taking it to the street
Producers of black gay TV dramas self-promote their work, lament lack of network exposure

By WARIS BANKS
May. 28, 2004

WTH ELLEN DeGeneres winning the best talk show honor on May 21 at the Daytime Emmy Awards in New York, and millions of viewers regularly tuning in to NBC’s “Will and Grace,” Bravo’s “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” and Showtime’s “The L Word” and “Queer as Folk,” gays and lesbians are no longer invisible on television.

Though many praise this breakthrough, some gay African Americans are holding their applause, claiming that their life experiences are overlooked on the big and small screens. Patrick-Ian Polk of Los Angeles and Maurice Townes of Atlanta are among those who are upset enough to take action.

“Some of my discomfort is that you never see any images of black gay men, unless they’re being used as a sex object,” says 41-year-old Townes, who will be at D.C.’s Black Pride celebration in Washington this Memorial Day weekend, to publicize “The Closet,” a new made-for-television program about black gay men that he plans to sell on DVD for $19.99 to $24.99 each.

Townes and Kevin F. Allen are co-creators of “The Closet,” and own Senwot Nella Productions, an independent film company in Atlanta.

Polk, the writer, director and creator of “Punks,” a feature film released in 2001 to limited audiences about black gay men living in West Hollywood, has plans to release a new made-for-television series on DVD in June titled “Noah’s Arc.” It focuses on the relationships between four black gay men who live in Los Angeles.

Polk, 33, is scheduled to air “Punks” and one of the “Noah’s Arc” episodes during D.C. Black Pride’s film festival, from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 29, at the Wyndham City Center hotel, 1143 New Hampshire Ave., NW.

“Gay was in, as far as television goes,” he says of his decision to create “Noah’s Arc.” “But there was really no presence for the black gay community in that movement. So I was just struck with the idea of making a show with black gay characters.”

Ithaca College professor Stephen Tropiano, author of “The Prime Time Closet: A History of Gays and Lesbians on TV,” says Polk and Townes will most likely have a much more difficult time getting their shows on the air than their white counterparts would because networks are very concerned about garnering the attention of television advertisers, who generally want to market their products to upscale, white audiences of a certain age range (18-49).

Nevertheless, he noted that there are niche networks, such as UPN, that increasingly are airing television programs geared toward African-American audiences, but they don’t receive the major advertising dollars that the Big Three networks receive.

Tropiano also noted that there aren’t any dramas on television — straight, gay or otherwise — that feature a majority of black characters. Communities of color tend to be overly represented in situation comedies, he said.

“It all comes down to economics and demographics,” says Tropiano, who directs Ithaca’s communications program in Los Angeles. “They’re all going after a certain consumer, income and class. It also comes down to who they feel their audience is, and race is sometimes considered.”

The success of “The Closet” and “Noah’s Arc,” among other programs about the black gay experience, depends upon how such programs are marketed, Tropiano says. While it’s up to the creators of shows like this to spread the word about their product, he said that, fortunately, it’s easy to reach gay audiences with their message because of the gay media, Gay Pride festivals, and gay organizations nationwide.

RATED R FOR its explicit language and sexual situations, “The Closet,” takes place in Baltimore, Towne’s hometown. The first episode is about an upcoming wedding between Jeffrey (Dheeaba Donghrer) and his fiancée Harriet (Sylvia Hudson), a rich socialite who’s completely unaware that her future husband sleeps with other men.

In the opening scene, Jeffrey is literally in the closet with an unidentified man, while his wife-to-be is footsteps away at their wedding rehearsal. She has no clue that her future husband’s appetite for sex with men is insatiable.

Other characters in “The Closet” include Brandon (Willie Melton) and Emory (Shannon Crawford), an openly gay couple who have been together 12 years and are raising a son, Tyler (Christopher Tavarez). Isaiah (Preston Horne) portrays a closeted doctor on the program, while Zachary (Kevin Allen) plays a radio personality on the down-low, and Nicholas (T. Bernard Coleman) is openly gay.

Townes says he created “The Closet” to educate heterosexual black women about a “secret society” of black men on the DL that are contributing to the spread of HIV. He says he also created the program to help shatter myths and stereotypes about homosexuality. So don’t expect to see drag balls, “keekee-ing,” or high camp on “The Closet.”

“There are no flamboyant men in the show that have major speaking parts — not that there’s anything wrong with that,” Townes says. “It’s just that Hollywood has done all of that.”

In Los Angeles, the creators of “Noah’s Arc” are touting it as a cross between HBO’s “Sex in the City,” Showtime’s “Queer as Folk” and “Soul Food,” a contemporary drama about an African-American family in Chicago.

“My primary goal is to entertain, first and foremost — tell a good story,” Polk says. “And in the course of that, hopefully, people get educated about different things.”

Polk, a native of Mississippi, graduated from Brandeis University. He also studied at the University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television and has worked in the entertainment industry for Amblin Entertainment and for Edmonds Entertainment/e2 filmworks.

Although “Noah’s Arc” tackles serious themes like AIDS and same-sex relationships, it also serves up heavy doses of wit and humor. In a trailer available online at www.noahsarc.net, Noah (Darryl Stephens), a struggling Hollywood screenwriter, is dating Wade (Jensen Atwood), a man in his first same-sex relationship who isn’t sure whether he’s gay or bisexual.

Other characters include Ricky (Christian Vincent), a clothing storeowner who is always cruising someone, Chance (Doug Spearman), a college professor and new dad, and tell-it-like-it-is Alex, an HIV/AIDS counselor (Rodney Chester) who jealously guards his handsome boyfriend Trey (Gregory Keith). “You turn your back for a second,” he says in one scene, “[and] these queens are on your man like a flock of vultures.”

Polk says “Noah’s Arc” pushes the envelope when it comes to discussing black same-sex romance and life.

“Why be namby-pamby about it?” he says. “There is nudity and sex scenes, and we pull no punches. If anyone is shocked and feeble-minded, then this isn’t the show for them because we bring it full on from episode one.”

Those who have seen “The Closet” generally applaud the creators’ efforts. Gay civil rights advocate Keith Boykin says on his Web site, www.keithboykin.com, that while the actors are talented and attractive, the story suffers from “wooden delivery of unnecessarily formal dialogue.”

“The film’s technical flaws are not easy to overlook but fortunately they don’t stop the plot from developing,” he says. “The sound is often choppy and inconsistent, the outdoor lighting is off, and the music is a bit repetitive and distracting at times.”

Visitors to Boykin’s Web site, also shared their views.

“I’m so thankful to see a television program dealing with gay men of color. It is almost as if we don’t exist,” one reader wrote. “I enjoy movies and shows dealing with gay issues. But I get tired of not being represented as a black man.”

Another said Polk’s decision to make a clip of “Noah’s Arc” available online was amateurish.

In response, Polk apologized.

“In an effort to produce quality work, it was more important for us to allocate the bulk of our limited funds toward the actual production of the series,” he says. “However, it was also important to us that we make some information available online as soon as possible, because we do not have unlimited corporate advertising dollars to promote awareness of the show. This is an independent, grass-roots production, and we are relying on all of you to spread the word.”

ABC, CBS, NBC, UPN and FOX, the country’s largest broadcast networks, currently do not offer programs with black gay characters, according to the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Discrimination.

GLAAD officials note that of the 12 gay characters on shows such as ABC’s “NYPD Blue” and NBC’s “ER,” 10 are white. These numbers, however, haven’t been updated to reflect NBC’s cancellation of “Coupling,” a show about six 30-somethings in Chicago in which Lindsay Price portrayed Jane, an Asian-American bisexual.

That deletion, leaves only one gay person of color on network television: Filipino American Alec Mapa, who plays a wisecracking receptionist on UPN’s “Half and Half,” a comedy that airs on Monday nights about two African-American half sisters who grew up separately but are reunited as adults.

Mississippi native Patrik-Ian Polk wrote and directed ‘Punks,’ a feature film released in 2001 about a group of black gay friends. He currently is working on ‘Noah’s Arc,’ a made-for-television drama that looks at the life and times of four black gay men in Los Angeles. He is scheduled to appear in Washington, D.C., Saturday, May 29, during a D.C. Black Pride Film Festival at the Wyndham City Center hotel, from noon to 5 p.m.

On cable television networks, however, African Americans and people of color are somewhat more visible.

On HBO’s “Six Feet Under,” Mathew St. Patrick portrays Keith, a black gay man who now works as a security officer because of an anger management problem that cost him his career as a police officer.

“The Wire,” a crime series on HBO, features Omar, a black gay man and drug dealer, as well as narcotics detective Shakima (Kima Greggs), who plays a black lesbian. On “The Shield,” a crime show on FX, Michael Jace portrays police officer Julien Lowe, a deeply religious married man struggling with his homosexuality.

C. Riley Snorton, GLAAD’s media manager for communities of African descent, offered one reason for the lack of black gay characters on television programs.

“I think that white gay male images are often embraced much easier because they’ve had a longer history of being public and visible — both politically and in the entertainment industry,” Snorton says.

So if a gay show with an all-white cast could be a hit, why not a similar show with an all-black ensemble, Polk and others are asking.

“I’m not a straight white female living in New York City but I still enjoy ‘Sex and the City,’” Polk says.

This also seemed reasonable to Townes when he approached one large cable network. He would not identify the network because he said he is still in negotiations with it about producing “The Closet.” Townes did say, however, that the network liked the show’s concept and offered him nearly $4 million on one condition: “They wanted to make three of the characters white, and we told them no, because it would change the element of the show.”

Unlike Townes, Polk says he’s never shopped around looking for a network to buy “Noah’s Arc.”

“The main thing was trying to do it [without getting] network permission, approval, or money,” says the native of Hattiesburg, Miss. “It was really about me taking control, taking the power and finding a way to create on my own terms.”

Townes says HBO, the Independent Film Channel, and Oxygen, a 24-hour cable television network geared toward women, are all waiting to see how “The Closet” fares in the next six months before deciding whether to pick up the show. He said he plans to sell 100,000 DVD episodes of the show and then renegotiate with various cable networks.

None of the cable networks returned Washington Blade calls and e-mail requests for comment. A spokesperson for Oxygen said no one there recalled speaking with Townes about “The Closet.”

The first season of “Noah’s Arc” is going to be released on DVD in June, according to co-producer Jasmyne Cannick. The show’s first season includes six, 30-minute episodes. Each DVD will be $29.95, plus applicable sales taxes.

The first two episodes of “The Closet” are now available, and 24 more shows are scheduled to be filmed. Episode lengths vary, from 74 to 120 minutes. Townes says that in addition to purchasing each episode on DVD for $19.99 to $24.99, the full season can be purchased for $360.

He says he plans to start a petition drive to persuade cable television networks to carry “The Closet.” The petition, in part, would state, “if you don’t consider this show on your system we won’t subscribe any longer.”

Townes says he plans to have the petition ready for signatures at Black Pride celebrations across the country, including in Washington, D.C., during the Memorial Day weekend.
