You guys look lonely on this board thought I would join you. BSEG has all the makings of going a lot higher. I think the new releases and productions they are working on are really going to move this stock.

With a small float, profits on their films should have a big impact on the stock.

It's the premiere man!! From the Big Screen board...

"There is a big press junket on Tuesday next week the day after the premiere. The premiere has turned into a 3 ring circus. It is the hottest ticket in town."

Welcome to the hottest ticket in town Road Runner!

Thanks guys for your welcome.

I read the unfavorable review of Dirty Love which was based mainly on it's gross humor.

Deep Throat one of the grosses films made with very lousy acting did over 600 million dollars in business.

There is a certain segment of public that is attracted to this type of film. If they are drawn to Dirty Love the film will take in a lot of money at the box office and in DVD sales.

If it was to do just 20% of DT's business ( hopefully even more ) we would all be happy campers.

Dirty Love just hit IFILM!!!

You can see the first 8 minutes there...and BSEG appears in the opening credits!!!

Yes, it looks totally goofy. But that's not a bad niche to fill...I think this will make it into a LOT of DVD players across America. Apparently at one point in the film McCarthy is traumatized by a guy using a fish as a sex object, a la' the pie in American Pie? If you watch the clip at Coming Soon.net I think that's what the fish comment is about. Could be funny in that same twisted way. I did laugh by the end of her freak-out in the street, even though by then I thought I wasn't going to. This movie might catch some folks off guard.

I don't think gross-out comedies ever get enthusiastic reviews, but I could be wrong. I just re-read Roger Ebert's review of American Pie and it was lukewarm. Anyway, this will be an exciting week. Cheers!

Some relevant comments from the moderator on the official BSEG board:

"For those that don't have experience or knowledge with Independent films  having a film released theatrically is a major deal as only 1% of all Independent films get a theatrical release.  Most Indies never make it to theatres and are released on DVD, Cable, Foreign, etc., which for the most part recoup their money and make a nice profit.  DVD sales have become pretty amazing.

With more and more media outlets (cell phones and the new I Pod video and many more areas popping up), there is even more demand for content and therefore more revenue.

Studio and Independent films start off with Platform Releases (like Dirty Love) to test the waters.  DL will be in approximately 100 theatres in it's opening weekend.  Some locations it is playing in multiply theatres.  This number of theatres is completely normal and could be considered high for this type of release.

Theatrical releases are important for several reasons, but some of the main ones are:  more revenue from foreign sales - a film which has gone theatrical in the U.S is much more valuable, DVD and other ancillary sales are generally much better domestically as well, credibility for the company, etc.  "

I guess I'll try to start a BSEG board tomorrow in the "stocks over .10" section as promised; I'd be surprised if we head below a dime again soon. Not sure how much DD to bother pasting, since we seem to be a small group and have done our homework? Thoughts on that? If anyone else feels like starting a board over there first, go for it!
G'night!

Cheers all!
