ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 9, 2005--BlueLinx Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BXC - News), a leading distributor of building products in North America, today reported financial results for the first fiscal quarter ended April 2, 2005.
Revenues for the first quarter were $1.35 billion, representing a 5.6% increase over the $1.28 billion reported for the first quarter ended April 3, 2004. This increase was driven by 3.4% growth in unit volume, primarily within structural products, and 2.2% growth in price, primarily in specialty products. Net income for the first quarter was $8.4 million, or $0.28 per diluted share, compared to $27.3 million, or $0.91 per diluted share, in the comparable period last year. For purposes of comparison, the prior year first quarter statement of operations is presented on a pro forma basis, as if BlueLinx had been a stand-alone, publicly-traded entity since December 29, 2002.

Do they distribute only one line of product or do they have more than one? Will PLNI have compitition within Bluenix itself on any of their products? Or, will Bluenix distribute only PLNI and not their compitition?

Here is my take on the similarities and differences.
Same: O/S... GZFX had 500 million float and PLNI has 400 million float
Differences: GZFX was OTCBB, PLNI will be there soon. GZFX had NO real income other than private placements... PLNI is making enough to justify paying cash for an acquisition. GZFX has major competition...Netflix, Blockbuster, Walmart... PLNI has little or No Competition
I can't believe that I am going to say this, but I agree witn U4 that PLNI could go as high as 0.20 in the near term (2-3 months)! As soon as they file their form 10K and 10Q... there is no disputing their financials. It does not matter which exchange they are on.. when they file those forms... THEY ARE REPORTING!!!!!!!!!

in 1-2 years, PLNI can surpass its previous high of .45 easily. Stick with the company and earn the rewards. Don't bail out too quickly. With the $280+ billion dollar highway bill that will be signed by Bush at the end of this june, PLNI is set to take off. Add to it increased distribution centers and a great sales team, I can't imagine how high PLNI can go in 2 years. It can easily double its previous high of .45 or even go to 2 dollars!

Sorry to tell you U4 but i do business finance for a living and ALL business bankers know the national avg of false FEDERAL tax returns runs up at 30%+!!!! This isnt saying thatv they are all fraud but rather very very creative and lots of BS that is strectched a little. The ones that make it are the ones that dont get audited by the Gov.... and last year for '03' there was only 7-8% audited!!!! Most of the audits that get done are because people turn them in or there is someone on the inside that makes the call. So the chanches of fraud are tremendous but the fact still remains....if they want to do things the wrong way no one will catch them until its too late and i didnt get that impression from Turek but i have been wrong before and I'm more than confident I will be wrong in the future cause we are all human and if it was simple none of us would be here because we would all be filthy rich!!!!

SEMCO Duct & Acoustical Products Inc., opens their newest manufacturing facility in Roanoke, VA. Columbia, MO -- April 22nd, 2005 -- SEMCO Duct & Acoustical Products Inc., opened their newest manufacturing facility in Roanoke, VA., in early February 2005. This impressive facility boasts 80,000 square feet (expandable to 120,000) of manufacturing and stocking space. The facilities unique design is set up to run as two separate plants. One activity supports the production of manifolded and custom ductwork that has continually helped reduce contractor’s job site labor for over 40 years, while the other part of the plant produces and stores product for a newly launched extensive representative stocking program.
Custom Built Oven for SEMCO's AVRON46™ Antimicrobial Coating.
This plant also offers a state of the art oven for the application of AVRON46™ to duct & acoustical products. These antimicrobial products are designed to resist microbial growth in the HVAC air duct system. The oven itself was constructed from SEMCO acoustical panels built at the company’s Crossville, TN plant.
The Roanoke plant’s HVAC system itself consists of a combination of corporate SEMCO products. The ductwork is supplied with SEMCO’s patented SuperSeal Plus™ advanced gasket joint connection system. This product reduces installation time - in fact, one man from the plant installed a significant portion of the system by himself! An Energy Recovery Unit supplied by the company’s DWP division controls the humidity to provide a comfortable work environment for the plant workers.

On April 22nd, SEMCO held an open house for over 50 representatives. The open house consisted of a training session in the morning and a tour of the facility in the afternoon.
The training session was used to launch MicroStock, a new stocking program offered exclusively through SEMCO representatives. In addition, SEMCO introduced its latest marketing tool, the Contractor’s Guide (Dollars & “Sense” of Choosing a Duct System.) This concept will be used to inform contractors of the labor saving opportunities available through the use of SEMCO’s custom and manifolded duct product option.
Following the training session, the attendees toured the new Roanoke facility. After touring the plant, the participants engaged in an installation exercise. This exercise allowed the representatives to get a “hands-on” education by challenging them to install over 40 feet of “custom” product versus the same layout from a stock program. The challenge resulted in a significant time difference between the two product offerings, demonstrating to the participants the labor efficiencies of SEMCO’s custom product.

We have requested that De Joya furnish us with a letter addressed to the Commission stating whether it agrees with the above statements. We have been advised by De Joya that they intend to provide us with such a letter next week and we intend to file an amendment to this Form 8-K to include such letter upon receipt of the same.

If the same auditing firm is performing the current audit, then perhaps this shows that they are a) a real, serious independent auditing firm b) able to come to an accurate determination, even when that determination isn't popular with the audited company. (as you can see, they were let go for telling the truth, IMHO)
I hope that these statements will hold true for PLNI. (just to the positive...please!!) Go PLNI...
