To James,

Great Talk show! I have been hearing a lot about QBID lately and I was wondering what your intake is on it.
This is supposedly a new "Gay & Lesbian Network"
If this helps I included the latest news link about their launch on May
15.

Thank You for your time.

Sincerely,

Ralph

People.....
Ok like I saw yesterday the north street is free nevertheless don't to be too optimist.
Test signal/ Soft launch is one think....
Hard launch is another.
You have in the USA Bush and is team like government......and they are a little anti-gay (let us say the truth.....they are to many religious), so QBID can get some problems if they win in november.
If the democrats come back then ok....all lights will be green.
Let us hope....

I don't see that causing any problems one way or another... this is ppv. if they ahve a problem with that they would also be going after playboy skinimax etc... I see no problem there... all they want to do is push down the people who this will be marketed to... not what is being marketed...

A little anti-gay?? LOL Maybe the most anti-gay politicians I have ever seen. Come on now, changing the US Constitution to take away gay rights...that's messed up.

Yeah, I don't think the Bush thing or the presidential election, period, will change much for QBID or Q Television.

I won't go THAT far...he's a bit "off" on some things (like the gay thing). But he's a HELL of alot better than Scary Kerry IMO. I'm terrified of that man.

no I am not saying he is perfect... but I could care less when it comes down to it about gay marriage... I think it should not be a problem... but as far as our economy goes I think he is kicking a$$... much better than kerry could dream of doing IMO... but I will agree there are things he should not be messing with... (that does not include Iraq... I have vertain problems with that but I think all in all we are doing some good over there... just takes time...) Go Bush!

Although I did say earlier I dont see a huge move Monday, even with a positive PR about Sat test signal, I would not sell now just in case. I have thought about it all day and think I will wait until Monday morning to see what happens, either way good luck

maybe I am a right winger but I do believe to best way to allow the economy to recover is to let it do its own thing... trickle down!
anyway don't want to get into a conversation on this next time I am going to keep my opinions to myself... back to QBID...

Fox takes gay-themed reality show one step further

Reuters

Los Angeles, May 14: Two straight men will do their best to pass themselves off as gay as they compete for $50,000 (28,000 pounds) in an upcoming Fox television special, "Seriously, Dude, I'm Gay", the network says.

The two-hour show, set to air June 7, marks the latest in the burgeoning TV sub-genre of gay-themed reality shows, such as "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" and the previous Fox offering "Playing It Straight".

"Queer Eye", in which five gay men teach a heterosexual slob how to dress, dine and design, caught on quickly with gay and straight audiences alike, first on the Bravo cable channel and then on its sister broadcast network NBC.

But "Seriously, Dude, I'm Gay" has raised the eyebrows of at least one gay activist group, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, which questioned the show's premise as potentially offensive and the "inflammatory" tone of the original press release announcing it.

"Without having seen the show yet, it raises some red flags for us, speaking to negative stereotypes that we work every day to tear down," GLAAD spokesman Stephen Macias told Reuters.

He cited a passage in the press release stating that two straight contestants will immerse themselves in "the gay lifestyle" as they move into separate West Hollywood apartments with gay roommates, come out of the closet to their best friends and socialise at gay nightclubs. Each will even go out on a blind date with another man.

Fox also said the two contestants will be judged by a "jury of their queers" -- a panel of gay men from all walks of life who will decide which of the two they believe is actually gay and the winner of $50,000.

"There was a second press release that was sent out with a disclaimer at the top of it apologising for their ill-attempted humour in the first press release," Macias said.

A Fox spokesman acknowledged that "the failed humour was ill-chosen and inappropriate and we issued a new release," but added that the program would actually help "dispel stereotypes." He added that Fox would provide GLAAD with an advance copy of the show's script for review.

The show, from the creators of the Fox reality series "My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiancée", will be hosted by Amanda Byram, who also emcees the Fox make-over show "The Swan" and the romance reality series "Paradise Hotel."

Fox is part of Fox Entertainment Group, which is controlled by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp, while NBC is owned by General Electric.
