Interesting article. I'm not surprised that a gay channel would not work in Canada because the low population does not allow for this kind of channel to really take off. Also, there are no "gay towns" in Canada like Provincetown and San Francisco.

This article is dated Dec. 2002, before the gay marriage debate really became heated here in the States. Last night on TV, there was even a town hall meeting show on gay marriage.

HOMOSEXUAL TV CHANNEL GOES BUST
TORONTO, December 23, 2002 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The homosexual TV channel
PrideVision has gone broke little more than a year after it went on the air. The network has gradually been forced to lay off half of its staff and put itself up for sale.

"The operating performance of this subsidiary has been below corporate expectations," said a spokesman for Headline Media Group Inc., the company that owned the network, which the spokesman claims had 22,000 subscribers paying $5.95 to $7.95 a month to receive the 24-hour all-homosexual network.

Some distributors, including cable operator Shaw Communications and satellite provider Star Choice, also controlled by Shaw, chose not to offer PrideVision during a free-view period that helps channels get off the ground. Unlike the other new networks, many of which are bundled, forcing subscribers to take numerous specialty channels whether they want them or not, PrideVision was offered on a stand-alone basis. But the narrow market
of interest in materials catering stridently to the unhealthy homosexual lifestyle is the most likely explanation for the failure.

QBID is going to smoke PNN read this!!
from NOBULL101 CBS board!!
There has been a rumor floating around that TTN has contacted Rosie O'Donnell to appear in some segments of their programming.

The rumor appears to be partially correct. The only descrepency was that Rosie had contacted TTN and not the other way around. I was able to confirm this through a friend today, that works in the film industry. He called Rosies publicist, Cindy Berger and was told that Rosie is in communications with TTN and that she has expressed an interest in hosting several segments of their programming. She made a comment to my friend about whats taking place in San Francisco and that Rosie would like a venue to express her comments. His conversation diodn't last long with berger, but it definitely confirmed for me the rumors that I heard.

just emailed PNN

To whom it may concern,

I am very interested in the 24/7 broadcasts. There is much talk around about the "race to air". I was curious as if you were assosiated with anyone else in this venture in Palm Springs? Namely Triangle Television Network (QBID). Thank you in advance for your reply.

Greg Webber

Will post when I get a response.

If Rosie contacted them that's even better. How many other big name media types will do the same. Her move could inspire others. What if she promotes this company?

I bought this at .0004 with almost no D&D thinking what the hell, where else am I going to get 1/2 a million shares for a little over 200 bucks. Now I'm thinking "DAMN! this could outperform my other plays, sure wish I'ld bought a couple million!"

mtaylor2,

I have no way of proving this to you...and I will typically not post anything that cannot be confirmed. Usually I'll provide a phone number so that you can call yourself. But, in this case I cant...so take this for what its worth.
Have you noticed a new group of pumpers and bashers on RB...if so you would have noticed that one of those individuals leeked the info about Rosie. Who do you think would have that information? Its my understanding that two stock promoters have been hired to take QBID to .05 by the soft launch. Why do you think Willy was so pissed off and turned basher. Frank apparently did not want his services...lol. Have you noticed how consistant the predictions of .05 by launch have been.

Found on RB..

More on (QBID) building! And investers. I feel like a go between. LOL.....island...

TTN used to lease the Old Time Warner Building at 808 Farrell St in Palm Springs. I drove past the building a couple weeks ago and spoke with the Real Estate agent that listed the property, Bryan Suitt [(760)778-7933]. He told me that the building has been sold and the new owner is looking for tenants. The new owner is Rose Mihata [(760) 320-0882.
During my conversation, Suitt told me that the previous owners of the TWC building are major investors in TTN. I didn't get their names ... only that they were brothers.

TTN new location is on the third floor of the Palm Springs Life Building at 303 N. Indian Canyon Drive. Its a three story building with a parking structure on the first floor.

another...

Sorry I forgot somemore sponcers that are signed up WITH CONTRACT (Notice I said already signed)as in done deal. Come on MAY 1.

I wanted to find out more about the foundering sponsors...so I contacted an ex-employee of TTN and asked this person if they could find out if TTN had signed any new foundering sponsors. I was told that Firestone and Coors have been signed and that American Express and Budwieser were on the fence...Im not sure of their status now...but the fact that the other two were signed up was enough for me. TTN will launch on May 1 and their is nothing stopping them from doing so...its going to happen

OK: We now have three rumors flying:

1. Rosie.
2. NNT and TTN join.
3. Sponsors.

1. How high can we go on just these rumors next week with no confirmation of any of the three. I say .003 (basing this on buy on the rumor which in the passed I have seen it not work as it does with the big boys but here it might.)

2. With Confirmation of Rosie only. .005

3. Confirmation of joining NNT only. .004

4. Confirmation of all three Rosie, NNT and sponsors. .01 by end of the week. Then much higher after that to .05 to .10 by may 1 if good news keeps coming.

Any other opinions.

I am a very optimistic person. I think it could really take off if all these are true and a lot of people will not want to miss the run so heavy buying will start. Only if it is true. I still beleive it will from now on drift upward slowly but surely even without these rumors being proven true. I am hoping that the rumors alone will move this thing. Going to .003 is not much of a thing to do. It hit .0036 on basically nothing. So I figured here is a possible shot. If Rosie gets involved she will attract others to the cause. As in superman truth, justice and the american way. More powerful than a locamotvie, faster than a speeding bullet (QBID). Hoping. Its like a dog or horse race come on long shot. They do come in now and then and big money is to be made. Thats all I am saying. But, who knows for sure. Just trying to get some entertainment for the weekend and add a little excitement to the thread.

Triangle Television Network Reaches Agreement for Satellite Broadcast Services

Triangle Multi-Media Limited, Inc. (OTC: QBID) (the “Company” or “TMM”) was organized to create and develop a network devoted to providing both television and radio programming for the gay and lesbian community. While TMM expects much of its subscriber base will be comprised of members of the gay and lesbian population, management also believes that quality programming about the gay and lesbian experience, designed to entertain, educate and inform, will be attractive to many other segments of the viewing public.

In order to attain these goals, contracts have been negotiated with a national satellite provider to distribute our programming, on a subscription basis, no later than September 5, 2001. The Triangle Multi-Media Television Network will broadcast 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Providing distribution via satellite ensures availability of the Triangle Multi-Media network across the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

The Company’s Market

The gay and lesbian population offers one of the most attractive demographic targets in the United States. The gay and lesbian community is highly educated, has a household income over 60% higher than the average American household and tends to have a much higher level of disposable income than the national average. Additionally, this niche group is disenfranchised from American society and effectively overlooked by mass marketing mediums. Occasionally, a gay character will spring into the spotlight of the mainstream media; however, those are few and far between (one of the most recent examples being the NBC program Will & Grace which features a gay man sharing a home with a straight female). The fact major networks and cable channels are beginning to offer programming and characters based on the gay and lesbian experience provides justification for the increased acceptance of gay and lesbian programming.

The gay and lesbian community has over $514 BILLION dollars in annual disposable income – a number simply too big to ignore. And, this estimated value does not include the ancillary market—friends of gays, parents, children of gays, and more. The value of this audience is overwhelming. To quote Simmons Market Research Gay & Lesbian Market Study (1997), “respondents are well-educated, affluent, sophisticated customers who show loyalty to advertisers willing to take the risk of marketing to them. Overlooking these individuals in any effort to cultivate a new consumer could mean the difference between profit and loss and it validates the value and purchasing power of gay and lesbian consumers compared to the general population.”

Distribution & Programming

The TTN viewing audience will have to subscribe to both TTN and the satellite provider in order to receive our programming. By having a subscription requirement as part of the distribution vehicle available through both satellite and digital cable (versus analog), TTN has effectively provided a “double-lockout” situation for the general public. Additionally, there is a program lock-out function generated by the satellite provider that acts as a third level of screening for people not interested in viewing TTN. Both the programming and advertising standards for the Triangle Television Network will always adhere to the National Association of Broadcasting requirements

The Triangle Television Network’s programming schedule will include movies, sitcoms, game shows, documentaries, news, finance, news magazines, travel, cooking and much more. Films and movies will air midday and overnight with serials being aired in primetime (6-9pm PST). We will be showcasing gay and lesbian films, entertainment programs and weekly serials from around the world. Our news and news magazine programs will cover world affairs, politics, festivals, local news and events throughout the United States and many other topics; all of which may have a slightly different twist when taken from the gay and lesbian perspective.

Revenues - Advertising, Retail Sales, Monthly Residues

The Founding Sponsors Promotional Package is a one-year package that encourages major advertisers to formalize their commitment in supporting the alternative marketplace. The Founding Sponsor program allows companies to dollar cost average their advertising dollars budgeted for the gay and lesbian market. In addition to extensive commercial and sponsorship exposure time on our television and radio network, all founding sponsors will have a significant presence in the TTN Programming Guide. Additionally, our founding sponsors will receive placement and recognition on our Internet web site, all TTN sponsored events, promotions and print placement To date some big names are rumored to be signing up for the founding sponsors promotion.

Showcase Sponsors – Advertisement sold on time, not including Founding Sponsors. Programming such as movies, sitcoms, plays and religious services will be broadcast uninterrupted. Based on our programming guidelines and founding sponsor requirements, TTN will have 2,167 minutes of ad time available monthly under our Showcase Sponsor program. The following annual average rate per minute applies

Triangle plans documentary on S.F.’s same-sex marriages

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PALM SPRINGS -- A local media company is financing a documentary on the same-sex marriages in San Francisco as part of its efforts to launch a 24-hour gay and lesbian cable television channel.

Triangle Multi-Media Limited Inc. on Wednesday announced a deal with Red Soapbox Visual Media to co-produce a film chronicling the historic unions. More than 3,300 gay and lesbian couples have tied the knot since Feb. 12, when San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom authorized the city to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

"We’re doing this piece on the history of marriage, how it came about and what’s going on in (San Francisco)," said Steven Grunberg, president of programming for Triangle.

Rene Schenk, the company’s chief financial officer, said Triangle paid a film crew $5,000 to shoot the footage and will negotiate further once shooting is complete. Written and produced by Roland J. Torres in San Francisco, the film will be the first of many projects to be developed by Red Soapbox and shown on the Triangle Television Network, a subsidiary of the multimedia company.

Triangle Multi-Media President Frank Olsen said he hopes to have a 24-hour transmission of sample programming available by May 1 and distributed by satellite and to theaters and hotel conference rooms. The documentary would kick off programming.

The Palm Springs-based company plans to launch the network locally and eventually take it nationwide. No start date has been set.

"If you just look at the popularity of ‘Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,’ and ‘Boy Meets Boy,’ you can see this kind of programming is very, very desirable," said Fred Bilodeau, a Cathedral City resident and vice chairman of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Caucus of the California Democratic Party.

Schenk said Triangle’s programming would focus on entertainment not politics.

"We like to think of ourselves as the family-friendly gay channel," he said. "We will not show anything even remotely pornographic."

Triangle has an agreement with Time Warner Cable to present its programming options to any of Time Warner’s markets, which serve more than 11 million viewers nationwide.

Keith Cocozza, director of corporate communications for Time Warner Cable, said the agreement has been in place since last year, but it’s up to each market division to decide whether to air the channel.

Triangle Multi-Media shares trade on the Pink Sheets, an obscure stock exchange for sometimes troubled or emerging companies where huge money managers oftentimes trade on fractions of a penny -- as is the case with Triangle Multi-Media. The company’s stock closed Thursday at $0.0015.

QUEERS (featuring a cast of ex-male strippers and, for some reason, George Wendt/REMEMBER NORM FROM THE REAL CHEERS?) was supposed to be the Gay version of CHEERS - only sexier! Viacom had to drop plans for their show, however, due to lawsuits by NBC and excessive ass grabbing on the set

Tire maker offers full-blown support to homosexual activists

[BACKGROUND: FROM THE AFA- Pulling out all the stops, tire and rubber company Bridgestone/Firestone (BFS), has entered into an “extensive commitment” to make sure their stores see the increased traffic of homosexual lovers, cross-dressers, and gender-confused customers. In a news release by BFS last week, company spokesman Michael Fluck said Firestone is “extremely pleased” to include homosexuals, bi-sexuals, lesbians and transgenders in a targeted marketing effort. Fluck said BFS will direct company profits to sponsor exclusive agreements with Triangle Television Network and major homosexual magazines, such as Out, Genre, Curve and The Advocate. In addition, BFS will sponsor homosexual web sites PlanetOut.com and Gay.com. Dr. Don Wildmon, President of American Family Association (AFA) said, “Every American family who buys Firestone tires may should be alarmed by this dissuasive direction of the company. With each purchase, their hard-earned money is going to help fund gay pride parades, homosexual television shows, and full-page ads in homosexual magazines.” Wildmon thinks Firestone’s move will further harm the company’s already damaged image. “Bridgestone/Firestone is selectively recruiting customers based solely on bedroom behavior - men who have sex with men, women who have sex with women, and those who aren’t sure what sex they are.” He said this decision won’t be well received by many current Firestone customers, the traditional American family.]

ACTION ALERT!
HRC urges praise for Bridgestone/Firestone for its
commitment to the GLBT community
Take Action! The Human Rights Campaign is urging its members to thank Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. for its forward-thinking diversity initiatives. HRC’s move comes as the anti-Gay American Family Association tries to rally opposition to the tire maker’s initiatives.
Bridgestone/Firestone. announced Nov. 18, 2001, an expansion of its diversity marketing efforts to include the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender community. The Nashville, Tenn.,- based company has entered into a sponsorship agreement with Gay.com and PlanetOut.com. And its marketing efforts will include targeted television advertising with Triangle Television Network and print advertising in Out, Genre, Curve and The Advocate.

The AFA issued an action alert Dec. 13, 2001, blasting the company for appealing to "homosexual lovers, cross-dressers and gender-confused customers." "Bridgestone is selectively recruiting customers based solely on bedroom behavior - men who have sex with men, women who have sex with women, and those who aren’t sure what sex they are," said AFA President Don Wildmon.

"We are proud to be the first tire company with a national marketing effort directed toward this important segment of the U.S. population," said Michael Fluck, the company’s Internet and diversity marketing manager. The move is part of a broader effort that also included the launch of TireSafety.com in Spanish - a website designed to improve highway safety.

In addition, the Bridgestone/Firestone also has a solid history of donating to a number of organizations that address issues of significance to the GLBT community. Those groups include: the American Foundation for AIDS Research; the National Minority AIDS Council; the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation; and the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network.

Bridgestone/Firestone has a longstanding philosophy "not to discriminate against people of any race, gender, military status, ethnic heritage, physical condition, culture, sexual orientation, age, social background or other persuasion," said Chris Karbowiak, the company’s vice president for public affairs. "We are committed to communicating with our diverse customer base."

QBID: A Conversation With Frank Olsen
Thursday February 19, 12:01 pm ET

PALM SPRINGS, Calif., Feb. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- During a question and answer session between Frank Olsen, CEO of Triangle Multimedia, Inc. and a group of investors, Mr. Olsen was quoted in the following conversation: "I will try to cover as many topics I can from the calls I have received about the functions and goals of the company.

"First, we are expected to have a test run on-air beginning in two months to run indefinitely. By a test run I mean we will be broadcasting on satellite a signal for our sales crew to approach advertisers and cable and satellite providers with. You must understand that we are building a network that will be on the air 24/7 and it is our goal to deliver a polished, consistent product with longevity. A few movies and a sitcom don't make a network.

"I get constant questions regarding our contract with the Time-Warner Cable Systems. Our ten-year contract enables us to place our signal throughout the Time-Warner system on a market-by-market basis. After we meet their strict broadcast standards we expect to be throughout their system in the months to come.

"The next most asked question is when can you expect the next press release. It will be posted when it is pertinent to the company. Otherwise, we are planning a phone 'hotline' where you can get constant updates. We are in the business to make a network of quality gay and lesbian programming. We understand that the shareholders are the true owners of this network and we will do our best to keep you updated."

QBID Overview

The Triangle Television Network (the 'Company' or 'TTN'), a wholly owned subsidiary of Triangle Multi-Media Limited, Inc (QBID) was organized to create and develop a network devoted to providing both television programming for the gay and lesbian community. While TTN expects much of its subscriber base will be comprised of members of the gay and lesbian population, management also believes that quality programming about the gay and lesbian experience, designed to entertain, educate and inform, will attract many other segments of the viewing public. TTN's programming will be provided on a subscription basis to those desiring its programming. The Triangle Television Network will broadcast 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Providing distribution via satellite ensures availability of the Triangle Television Network across the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

Safe Harbor Statement

As a cautionary note to investors, certain matters discussed in this press release may be forward-looking statements within the meaning of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. Such matters involve risks and uncertainties that may cause actual results to differ materially, including the following: changes in economic conditions; general competitive factors; Triangle Multi-Media's ability to execute its business model and strategic plans; and the risks described from time to time in the company's Securities and Exchange Commission filings.

FINANCIAL PLANNING MORE COMPLEX FOR GAY BOOMERS. "For straight couples, so much of it is automatic, as far as inheritance rights and things like that," a 47-year-old gay New Yorker in a 10-year-old relationship. "For gay couples, you have to orchestate all that." The network will need there own financial planning segment, thats at least 1/2 to 1 hr. time slot each day.
