Foge, based off today, .30 seems reasonable. But why? Big rookie who just starting thinking about buying stock about a month ago, but from what I've read all the articals make this stock look strong...until today that is.

Hold? What! Am I missing something here? If Foge is right and it drops to .30 then splits to .03 (assuming you're still holding your stock from today) wouldn't it need to increase over 600% just to get back to where it closed today at 1.26?
Again, I assure you I'm a rookie, but that's the simple math in my head (actually a calc). It doesn't seem reasable that you'd hold on to a stock through an 85% drop, just to hope for a 600+% increase. Would those with more sense then me please apply some rational here. Is there a history of stocks like this? Thanks

I've never seen what happens before a stock splits. This one is supposed to split 10 for 1 on Friday. I guess I'm expecting a big day tomorrow. After that it climbs right back up to 2 bucks right!!!
Should I be putting this in a newbie forumn?

Yes and no. When a stock splits, you also get more shares.
So for simplicity reason lets think you have a stock worth 10 bucks and gets a forward 10-1 split. Now one share is worth 1 dollar, however you will now own 10 shares. So, despite common belief, a stock split doesnt do anything to the bottom line.
However a stock split usually (not in this case) is an indicator of a good run, and the management decides to split the stock so that it can become more liquid and appealeable to the investors.

Vinnie, I could be wrong here, but I got the feeling in that last post that you don't feel this split is a good thing or at least warranted
I guess "overwhelming interest and demand" could just be the CEO's opinion and not an indication of where the stock is headed.
"Due to the overwhelming interest and demand in our company, we have collectively decided to reward our current shareholders and prospective investors with a forward stock split," stated Desmond Milligan, eCarfly, Inc. CEO

Nice scientific study you got there. I bet the pros rely on that site. I don't think it needs my vote. I'm just learning the trade, not predicting it...yet. Give me 10 years.

Ya gotta start somewhere. 6 sold out of how many listings? It doesn't say. Could be 6 for 6 for all we know. Could be 6 for 1000. All I'm saying is the acquisition docs aren't even done and they're already selling cars. Building report.

I did (first straight stock buy for myself), but I'm out for a loss. I tried to time ups and downs, but my execution left a little something to be desired.
There was another article somewhere that was dicussing online vehicle sales in general that also mentioned ecarfly, but I can't find it right now. About the only thing I remember from it was that the growth of online car sales was pretty stagerring and that Ebay out sells, Cars.com, Autotrader.com and some other company combined.

It's been down so much recently, maybe the fact that they're holding off on the split is a good thing. I'd like to wait until after the split to sell my shares. I'm already seeing a loss, but how much can we trust that $6 target?
