gonna have a 10-1 forward split on September 1st

just took a huge dive by now and expect an end of day run IMO

Posted by anders19199 on :

at about 2.38 rite now and movin back up

Posted by anders19199 on :

at 2.50

Posted by anders19199 on :

up to 2.70 lookin to hit $3 before the end of day maybe more

Posted by anders19199 on :

volume is low . . its steady at 2.27 any news or big buys and expect a 10-30% gain easy

Posted by anders19199 on :

2.32 will fly if volume picks up

Posted by Foge on :

I bet by the end of the week its back to 0.30

Posted by lwtebo on :

Foge, based off today, .30 seems reasonable. But why? Big rookie who just starting thinking about buying stock about a month ago, but from what I've read all the articals make this stock look strong...until today that is.

Posted by anders19199 on :

wow wtf happened?! thats all i gotta say . . ill prob hold til after the split see what happens after that

Posted by lwtebo on :

Hold? What! Am I missing something here?
If Foge is right and it drops to .30 then splits to .03 (assuming you're still holding your stock from today) wouldn't it need to increase over 600% just to get back to where it closed today at 1.26?

Again, I assure you I'm a rookie, but that's the simple math in my head (actually a calc). It doesn't seem reasable that you'd hold on to a stock through an 85% drop, just to hope for a 600+% increase. Would those with more sense then me please apply some rational here. Is there a history of stocks like this?
Thanks

blanco im with you man today is green!!

Posted by lwtebo on :

Nice rebound today up to 1.81. Not quite where we started yesterday, but there's still tomorrow.

Blanco, how do check aftermarket trading? In your opinion, is that a indication of what's going to happen the next day?

Posted by lwtebo on :

CNNMoney shows after hours trading. ecfl.pk is down in the after hours market. Not sure what to take from that. Looking for others opinions.

Posted by blanco4444 on :

down to 1.66 not a big deal it will go up again

Posted by lwtebo on :

Wow! Nice jump this morning to 2.40, Currently back at 2.00, but maybe we'll see some end of day action again like yesterday.

Posted by lwtebo on :

I've never seen what happens before a stock splits. This one is supposed to split 10 for 1 on Friday.
I guess I'm expecting a big day tomorrow. After that it climbs right back up to 2 bucks right!!!

Should I be putting this in a newbie forumn?

Posted by anders19199 on :

Yes and no. When a stock splits, you also get more shares.

So for simplicity reason lets think you have a stock worth 10 bucks and gets a forward 10-1 split. Now one share is worth 1 dollar, however you will now own 10 shares. So, despite common belief, a stock split doesnt do anything to the bottom line.

However a stock split usually (not in this case) is an indicator of a good run, and the management decides to split the stock so that it can become more liquid and appealeable to the investors.

thats my ten cents!!!

Posted by lwtebo on :

Vinnie, I could be wrong here, but I got the feeling in that last post that you don't feel this split is a good thing or at least warranted

I guess "overwhelming interest and demand" could just be the CEO's opinion and not an indication of where the stock is headed.

"Due to the overwhelming interest and demand in our company, we have collectively decided to reward our current shareholders and prospective investors with a forward stock split," stated Desmond Milligan, eCarfly, Inc. CEO

hmmm,
WTH? I would have thought the news of selling cars would be a good thing. I don't get it.

Posted by blanco4444 on :

a good thing? why? what is 6 cars? a 100 would've been decent news but certainly not 6

Posted by lwtebo on :

Ya gotta start somewhere. 6 sold out of how many listings? It doesn't say. Could be 6 for 6 for all we know. Could be 6 for 1000. All I'm saying is the acquisition docs aren't even done and they're already selling cars. Building report.

Posted by lwtebo on :

How about a bounce to end the day.

Posted by Honesty101 on :

LOL, I got a paid pumper fax on this a little more than a week ago. They gave a $6 target. lol

I just grabbed the mailer out of my desk drawer, thought this symbol sounded familiar.

They claimed a recent price of .50.

Posted by Honesty101 on :

The date on the fax was 8/22/06.

Posted by lwtebo on :

Hmmmmmm,

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 1, 2006--eCarfly, Inc. (Pink Sheets:ECFL - News) today announced the postponement of the 10-for-1 forward stock split of the outstanding shares of its common stock. An announcement of the new record date and the new effective date for the stock split will be forthcoming.

Posted by Honesty101 on :

I'm not buying it, but there could be some decent day trades in there.

I'm more of a swing trader.

Posted by lwtebo on :

I did (first straight stock buy for myself), but I'm out for a loss.
I tried to time ups and downs, but my execution left a little something to be desired.

Where to go from here?

Posted by Honesty101 on :

Is this company in addition to Ebay motors, or do they sell on Ebay motors?

Posted by lwtebo on :

They're a listing company for Ebay Motors.

Here's some links that talk about ecfl.pk over the last month. http://finance.yahoo.com/q/h?s=ecfl.pk

There was another article somewhere that was dicussing online vehicle sales in general that also mentioned ecarfly, but I can't find it right now. About the only thing I remember from it was that the growth of online car sales was pretty stagerring and that Ebay out sells, Cars.com, Autotrader.com and some other company combined.

Posted by puma on :

It's been down so much recently, maybe the fact that they're holding off on the split is a good thing. I'd like to wait until after the split to sell my shares. I'm already seeing a loss, but how much can we trust that $6 target?

Posted by lwtebo on :

I personnally don't trust $6 at all.
When I got in (2.98), I was thinking $4 and it didn't hit that, even with a big PR push talking about the, now postponed, split.

I wonder if Foge got that same mail Honesty did. He said it would be at .30 by the end of the week?

Strike 1 - Shoots for $6 and hits about $3.50
Strike 2 - Announces a split, just to postpone it the day all investors had to own the stock by (Big Thank You for the heads up on that one you darned people at Ecarfly!)
Strike 3 - Recent price claim of .50, less then 4 weeks after saying they were going to justify $6.

Boooo ecfl.pk
Yah Beer!

For me this was a big lesson learned.
1) I can't carry on a fulltime job AND trade a penny stock.
2) If I were to take some days off during the year for the sole purpose of trying to make some money on the market, I'd have to make my buy/sell decisions a heck of a lot faster, because the stock isn't waiting for me to make up my mind.
3) You guys who do this for a living are insane!!

Posted by puma on :

Is it possible the .50 price claim is for the target it will reach AFTER the price split?

Posted by anders19199 on :

been disappointing the last couple days, im holding til after the split i think there will be more buys since its a more affordable price.

http://thestockpic.com/ gettin pumped on the stockpic

the fact that they said the split has been postponed could be because they want the PPS to go up before hand. It could be a scam on the other end. or they might want to do the merger before the split afterall ECFL basically needs eautodrop or they have nothing. There could also be sum big news coming, a series of PRS a new aqusition and they want to hold off on the split til after the news? Just sum opinions

still holding all my shares

Posted by Honesty101 on :

For all newbies.

I appologize for not clearing the air on paid pumper faxes. I generally laugh when I see the target prices listed.

Never trust those things. They usually come out when a stock is just about at its peak, and ready for a decline. So, if you're trading on one of these things, get in and out fast to protect your capital IMO.

If you really like the stock and for some reason want to get in it for the long haul, then wait for a pull back to support levels before entering. It may not find solid support for months, just be careful.

Posted by anders19199 on :

looking at their auctions, they seem to be selling bout 60% of their cars. Maybe we'll have a PR in a week or 2 saying they sold 100 cars withing their first month

Posted by puma on :

Taking a look at this stock, and someone posted on another board that the split may take place later this week. I say MAY because who knows if it's a pump or if it's a legitimate post. I can only imagine that it's going to trade heavily when just before and after the split, so unless I can make a lot of money back before then, I'm going to wait until the split and hope for the best.

Or, maybe, we'll end up seeing the $6 target. But I didn't imagine seeing such a loss occur so fast, especially when the company is supposedly on the up and up, going public, going for legitmacy. If it is on the up and up, then it should at least rebound a little, right?

Posted by GlassCrasher on :

Who knows about this stock. It hit 3.40 and then just dropped. The postponement of the split didn't help matters. This is a very volatile stock, with a very low number of shares, 7 million I believe. It is susceptible to violent price swings, I should know, I'm very much in the red right now.

Posted by anders19199 on :

seein red too but im confident tomorrow will green or not as drastic as a loss. Alot of buys came in at the end of the day

Posted by doling2005 on :

This stock just started trading a little over a month ago. I've seen many stocks start out of the gate high and end up subpenny. I hope I'm wrong here. Just that it hasn't had time to settle in to it's rightful place yet IMO.. good luck, might bounce along the way too..

A GREAT WAY TO PROTECT YOUR STOCK FROM MM SHORTING
everyone, put your shares up for sale at 200% PPS .....this will help keep your stocks from being shorted....read below....let's get the MMs!

Not sure if you all relize this because i did not till recently. your shares can be borrowed to sell by your broker thus making it easier for the mm's to short. however if you have a sell on your shares put in they cannot borrow them thus taking them out of circulation. keep in mind you can cancel this sell at anytime. i have mine for sale at 50.00 not that i look to get that but it does take all of my shares out of the mm game. put in a sale gtc and you can do the same

here is how it works. they have x number of days to cover shorts. they borrow your shares cover the short and just short it again. thus increasing their time to cover them. without the shares available to do this they will have to cover sooner. most important to me is i do now want anyone borrowing my shares. they are mine and not to be used except by me. putting in the sale makes it so they cannot use them.

Hope you're right, but I'd put a side bet on a close around .67 and then .47 by Friday...worse if they postpone the split again.

I really don't get what makes this penny stock move one way or another. From every PR I've seen this thing should be going up. I haven't yet seen someone bash it. Maybe the fact that it's a .pk is enough to make it untrustworthy.

Anyone with knowledge as to what drives a .pk one way or another, please weigh in.

good call lwtebo . . . good thing i didnt buy

still curious on how this will do after the split . . . waiting til then because people are afraid rite now with the big sell off and 2we will get more investors when it hits a cheaper price IMO and still looking for a PR updating us on how many cars their selling

how do stocks usually react to a forward split?? most go up some down??

Posted by puma on :

Forward splits are almost always seen as positive, and reverse splits negative. After the split shares will be that much cheaper so in effect you will have people selling and buying a lot before and after the split. This could drive the price up or down either way, but hopefully up. But if it does go up, it won't necessarily mean that it will STAY up, so I for one will be trying to get out soon after the split unless I see some kind of stable turnaround.
I agree that the PR should've stabilized the price a bit. But this stock is still seen as a penny stock. If it makes the transition, you see they're still just a small web site, that $6 price target may come true someday. Still very much a small business learning to fly. It's exciting to see things like this happen, but OTH us investors need something to go by when we lose like this! Or sell, sell, sell!

I need some advice here. I have been flipping this stock lately. However yesterday I could not get out of my position. I am not familiar with splits. What is the effect going to be positive or neg? Short and Long term? Any help is appreciated.

Posted by lwtebo on :

I wouldn't call it advice, but here's what I'm doing.
Holding at least until they post their revenues. If it really does benifit auto dealers as much as they claim, then there's no reason, (mismanagement aside) that it shouldn't succeed. I've never invested in stock before and therefor never seen a split or IPO get off the ground. Remember, this is still a very new stock. So my money is in, it's staying there for while and I'm hoping for the best. In case anyone cares and I'm sure some will get a kick out of this, but lets just call it my lesson learned in the stock market. I initially got in at 2.98, sold around $2. Bought back in at 1.15, then it dropped and hasn't yet recovered from that. I did buy more at .81 though. So that's my position. Since I don't have the time or resources available to flip this thing on an hourly/daily basis I'm pretty much just hoping this is a good company and all will work out. Wish me luck!

The split is supposed to occur this Thursday, Sept. 21, for those who have purchased and owned shares of the stock by 5:00p Sept. 18. I don't know exactly when on Thursday, but if it does indeed occur like the news stated we should see some action by Friday. Here's to hoping for a quick bounce [Smile]

after the split BUY BUY BUY it will go up after the split IMO. . . thats why MMs they are taking the price down now because when the split does happen new people will be interested and big buys will be coming in from MMs on top of it

You didn't have to buy by Monday to get the split shares, because if you buy by tommorrow you're buying the rights to those split shares from whomever sold them. Thursday your account should reflect the new PPS and new shares.

Sooo, say that $6 target is an unachievable number for this stock. That means that .60 should be just as unachievable. ECFL topped out around 3.40 right? So maybe .34 is where it will settle post split. I don't know if this logic works, but it's all I have to offer.

Tex, what do you mean by posted?
You can look ECFL up on OTCBB.com and get a quote. They also have their PR posted there.

Speaking of which:

eCarfly Updates Shareholders on Acquisition of eAutoDrop Inc. and Newly Announced Acquisition of Parent Company, CompleteAuto Inc.

eCarfly, Inc. (Pink Sheets: ECFL) today announced that the acquisition of eAutoDrop Inc. (www.eautodrop.com) is nearly finalized and is pleased to announce the acquisition for the parent company, CompleteAuto Inc. (www.completeauto.com). "The addition of CompleteAuto gives eCarfly the ability to offer a full array of automotive products and services targeted at the nearly 40,000 automobile dealers across the country as well as the private individual," stated Desmond Milligan, eCarfly Inc., CEO.

"CompleteAuto currently services dealerships across the United States with our cutting-edge software and online auction services," added Jeff Roman, CompleteAuto Inc., President. "By including CompleteAuto in the acquisition it positions our company to expand our services in existing and new markets. Since September we have already added 13 dealerships to our software program."

I see it now:

http://www.otcbb.com/asp/dividend.asp?sym_id=ECFL&dDate=09/18/2006&sDateType=Rec ord_date

When I posted earlier? it was *not* posted...

PRs don't mean jack...for example, copying this from earlier in-thread, assuming it is from the legit PR--note my bold emphasis: "the "Record Date" (the date you must be in possession of shares prior to 5:00 p.m. EDT) will be September 18, 2006 . . . ."

As per OTCBB posting, 21st is last day to buy for divvies--on the 22nd? due bills no longer attached..."record date" mentioned in PR is meaningless.

I'm not saying PR's mean anything. Heck, most of the time ECFL post a PR, (at least over the 3 weeks) the stock has dropped. I just mentioned it because it was new.

well, lol, you asked, and I knew, so I posted...

Tex, so I can buy today and get divi on those shares also?

lets see some more PRs this week, lets see .20!!!!

Posted by Doniboy on :

I got mine and sold at .10. Nice little profit. I am waiting until after everyone gets their shares before I decide to buy back in. I think it may maintain this height or even go up, but I am afraid of a dump when Ameritrade finally goes through. Thats why I am waiting.

Does it take while? I am using Ameritrade.

Everyone on Ihub is saying they are going to leave Ameritrade.

Closed at .092. Trading at .09 in Extended hours. Reached .121, a bounce as I predicted, not as much as I hoped, but with all the PR this puppy could be back up. Someone mentioned .20 and if it reaches that I would be happy. I'm still in with a few shares but I've decided against buying any more since it's been so volatile.

where do u go to see the extended hour trading

Posted by Dave2007 on :

ameritrade will show you with the L2's

My shares have still not posted to my Ameritrade account. Does anyone know why. Ecfl said they should have posted on Monday. I may be leaving Ameritrade, cause every time I have a stock split, there are issues, and 5 day waits for shares. Any help please.

Posted by Dave2007 on :

Grizzly... I am in the same boat as you. I called them and they gave me some BS about it being in "holding". THat was last week

Posted by Dave2007 on :

check your account now... I just go tmy stocks today ( of course there shares have been taking a dive since I have been waiting on them)

Posted by Grizzly on :

Hey, Dave. I got mine yesterday too. Now let's hope it will go back up to 5 or $6.00. Good luck.

Posted by Grizzly on :

Anyone know what is going on with ECFL. Kinda been dead since the split.

Posted by lwtebo on :

Rumor has it so many people took a loss on this, that there's no use selling at this point. (I don't know if I buy into that. At some point you make an attemp to cut your losses.) Also, there are some thoughts out there that the 220M O/S is incorrect and that number may be high. Diluting may also be slowing down. I personnally think if you're holding because selling isn't worth it at this point, your in for losses. It would be great if they really do become a full reporting company.

eCarfly / CompleteAuto - Merger on Track
Friday October 6, 6:00 am ET

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--eCarfly, Inc. (Pink Sheets:ECFL - News) announced today the company's merger is on track and should be finalized in the next two weeks. Future business developments are on the way and we will keep the shareholders updated as progress continues. "I understand the frustration as the anticipation on the merger slowly progresses, we are working diligently with attorneys on both teams to bring closure to this merger," stated Desmond Milligan, eCarfly, Inc. CEO.

And we thought it was down yesterday...with this PR we may see a nickle shortly.

I think that we're going to see a pretty nice gain here from .051. Might even be a decent hold at this price for a month or so.

Don't put much stock in that though. This is still the 1st stock I've ever played with and I've got a long way to go before breaking even on it. I feel pretty good about this buy though.

Posted by lwtebo on :

I swear they wait for me to buy then tank the price.
2.98/1.10/ and now here.
They're watching me, I know it.

In case you're thinking about buying here...don't.

Pretty abysmal lately...Guess I'll set this one on alert, pray, and maybe it'll come back.
