wow, what happened to WTEK today? big crash. looks appealing to me from .38, i like teeny-float plays, barely $2M market cap. their last Q was a little disappointing, but from these levels i'll take a chance on a little; have been profitable with slightly erratic though generally rising revenues. need to do some more research, but - definitely looks interesting. i don't see any filings to support today's drop.

these sudden dips like WTEK today and OISI last week, hard to figure. many of them i am convinced are simply someone making the mistake of dumping a "market order" sell on the market of a lot of shares all at once. some of course may be true "trouble signs" though.

definitely a risk buying on these sudden 30% drops. but - as long as i like the company, am generally willing to see if it was just a market sell (that perhaps triggered some other panic selling) and that the stock will rebound, at least with a small amount.

PDGE, very strange - can't believe it dumped to 1.50 today, after a very good report yesterday. rebounded in the afternoon, but - still, the swings of PDGE; i have serious trouble figuring out.

reading through the latest 10Q of WTEK, i don't see any cause for major concern. not as pristine a balance sheet as i normally look for: in this case the market cap is 2.1M, enterprise value 2.6M. revs generally increasing Y over Y: 5.1M, 5.5M, 6.5M the last 3 years. not spectacular, but - a little growth. trailing P/E under 7, my guess is forward P/E is perhaps conservatively 8-10, since they had a good Q3 last year i'm not sure they can repeat. hard to say though, pure speculation. backlog about $2.5M, not bad. would like to see a little higher profit margin. pretty high insider ownership which i like, figuring that is a good incentive for them to want to do well. float looks to be under $1M, mighty tiny.

website is here -

http://www.intl-baler.com/

on a down note, surprising how many companies seem to make these balers, here is a list -

http://recycling.tradeworlds.com/web_category_5281.html

i dunno, anyone with any thoughts on this one? am thinking, on balance weighing the pros and cons, .40-range looks good to buy a little, but - am happy to listen to any other viewpoints. anyone?

can't find much info on this one on the web - pretty much zero message board discussion on it that i can find.

not surprisingly, WTEK bounce today - back to .45x.51 spread.

tempted to sell NMKT given it's history of falling back, but - am going to tempt fate and hold; been pretty bullish lately.

ALMI, i wonder if the "game is up", and there won't be these silly dips to .90. more stable today, but - dunno, hard to tell.

even though it's fundamentals are a mess, tried and just missed BIPH this am at 2.45. dunno if i'd want to hold it long, but - my bet it has at least one more run past $3 in it - purely a swing play.

watching COVR drop, starting to look of interest.

EYDY, still trying .24 but never any luck.

what is up with SSTR? big runup today!

TMED continues it's repeated bounced off of .61-ish support.

CYDS very strong, all the way up to .47x.49. still kicking myself for not going bigger into this one, d'oh!! ouch. i hope you got some last week, Purl

lid just blew off CYDS - .51x.60, .56 high. put my measly 2k up at .60, just in case. can't believe i blew this one by not buying more, almost as painful as my GEOI misplay. ouch!!

well, what to make of CYDS's day. .58 close, up over 41% on the day on ~20x normal volume. no filings or news today.

a big investor deciding to invest a bunch in Cygne?

good news of the upcoming report leaked out?

one of those annoying pump-N-dump groups giving it a one-day ride?

pure random fluctuation in the quantum-foam, that developed into a snowball effect as momentum riders and daytraders piled on?

some combination thereof?

dunno.

mighty interesting though. and painful, i should have bought a minimum of 10k shares the day i came across it. back on 3/14 in this thread, posted my immediate reaction to it:

"how many companies do you know of that are trading at 47% of book and 12% of sales, have a trailing PE of 5, and so much cash that their enterprise value is a measly 870k? enterprise value 3% of revenue, heh."

was ridiculous, should have paid the ask then and there, d'oh!! eh, oh well, live and learn. murphy's law i guess: sits there flat for a year doing diddlysquat, so i can barely dip a toe into it until it doubles. hope you ended up getting at least a little before the run, PG

Blue, I cannot figure out what is going on with
CYDS stock. It is a good company, I have suggested
it to others, but previously, volume has been zero.

Now, wham! Up it goes for no apparent reason.

We should start discussing a worthless stock, such
as Raven Moon and discover if people start buying!

Your comment about "pump and dump" is of great
concern to me. I don't like that activity, at all.
That might be, and is most likely, the reason.

CYDS is a decent company. I hope those crooks out
there don't ruin it via "pump and dump" or via
naked shorting. Could be the share price is being
pumped up in anticipation of initiating a short
position death spiral.

I should not be so suspicious, so pessimistic,
but with Wall Street and the SEC being run by
La Costra Nostra....

Say, isn't the Garment Industry owned by the mob?

I am sure, Blue, you noticed very nice buy prices
today. I am so turned off by economic conditions,
the only buy I was will to make was IESV at .09
per share at market open.

Well, I did ace you out on your .0171 CLSI buys.
I bought some at .0175 just to annoy you.

Stocks you suggested, stocks I suggested, Glassman,
Keithsan stocks, others, prices appear really good
buys today, but I am fearful we are seeing the
beginning of a serious market downturn.

CYDS, i just - dunno. always has a volume of almost nil, then suddenly - bam! a rocket today. i don't follow all the boards so i don't know if one of them picked it as a "pump" or not, but - would be an odd one to pick, just such an obscure and quiet company. was clearly ridiculously oversold at .29, but - normally there is some impetus to drive it a stock up on big volume. very strange.

just one of a lot of wild swings have been tracking lately, though this one of much larger volume than OISI, WTEK, and some of the others. some of the quick 30% dumps then bounces like WTEK and OISI lately i am thinking there was a high probability of someone just dumping a lot of shares with a market instead of limit order, but - that is speculation.

definitely a lot of appealing prices today. but you're right - markets very iffy, seeing a lot more red than green on the ticker these days. oil worries have eased a bit, but that has just made room for other worries, apparently.

have been watching USNU, hoping the 10K would be good. finally came out yesterday, and - unfortunately the 4Q results were disappointing.

http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1089815/000116923205002089/d63335_10-k.htm

lost about $100K in Q4, to drop their profit for the year down to $123K (and push their trailing P/E up from about 6 to 12).

drats, was hoping this one would be a buy, their gamma knife technology is pretty interesting, and i like their teeny float - only about $700K in the float.

will keep on the backburner and check periodically, still a very interesting little company

ouch, another ugly day for the markets. sold IDIB and CYDS, added a little ALMI at .88 and NXG at 1.16, prices i never thought i'd see again. afraid to add anything else though, even though lots of good buy prices. sure a lot of red on my ticker today!

Blue, I bought a bunch more ALMI at .89 per.

Bought a bunch of IESV at .09 per.

Buyers are moving in like vultures this afternoon.

HOM, MKRS, ROBE, IESV and VFIN are all at very
attractive prices.

"Defensive Trading" is the keyword for now.

CYDS, what the hell is up with this one? a normal daily dollar volume up until 2 days ago was - $3000, seriously. today: 545,935 shares traded hands! between today and yesterday, close to $400,000 traded, that is about 60x the normal daily dollar volume! on no news. one of the weirder things have come across in the market, just doesn't make any sense.
