As of today I would vote Ted Cruz.

The results of this poll mirror exactly what I am seeing in the Northeast, these are the only two candidates that ever come up in conversation.

As gaudy as Trumps poll numbers are, I think his actual numbers are even more ridiculous. I personally know a pile of people that will be voting for the first time or for the first time in many years because of Trump. Many who have given up on the entire political process are now engaged and it's all because of The Donald. I love it!!!
Cracks me up when the establishment tries to discredit him after the debates or one of his rallies with their "esteemed professional panels" consisting of jerk offs like Karl Rove, Krautthammer etc. Their rambling is falling on deaf ears, most people I know couldn't pick those dudes out of a lineup and I assure you, they don't really care what any of them think or say...

I noticed no Marco Rubio. I also noticed he was absent for the spending bill vote. Cruz and Sanders were there to vote on it.

Rubio has flat out exploited the Tea Party that got him elected. He did a major flop from immigration position before and after elected.

On Cruz, I like him. Theres still not enough I know about him though to be enthusiastic. Dont get me wrong I would be happy if he won. Maybe it will be a Trump Cruz ticket. Trump would never be a VP though. Trump Cruz is an interesting combo of backgrounds. Harvard law ace, and job creator. Thats what people care about. The economy and jobs, and Trump is pushing that pretty hard at his rallies. If they joined forces the rest of the Republicans might as well quit.

You know Donald Trump bags on Jeb Bush a lot. Especially for his spending and nothing to show. Bush has raised over 100 million and spent many millions on ads already. The donors are not seeing a return. Nobody wants another Bush or Clinton.

If Hillary runs against Trump she will lose. At one of his latest rallies he said that he hasnt even started on Hillary yet. I can only imagine how that would go down during a debate forum. He has no problem calling her out on the email scandal, and questioning her eligibility to even run for office that she doesnt have the strength or stamina for.

I imagine some people start dropping out of the Republican race after the hollidays. They will most likely come out and say "Well you know over the hollidays while spending time with my family I realized thats where my heart is and that is why I am pulling out of the race".

You know, the usual BS to try to save face. Its so hard to watch sometime. Also take note the kind words between Putin and Trump recently. That caught my eye.

Open border Dems would love nothing more than a Rubio vs. Clinton race, it's a win/win for them. This is why so many people are fed up with the entire process, can you blame them? You can rarely take anything these candidates say at face value, constantly speaking from both sides of their mouths. Only way to see where they actually stand on the issues is to follow the money trail, the Rubio money trail speaks volumes jmo.

As far as a Trump/Cruz ticket...
I think that is exactly what we are gonna see. CNN tried to bait them into a "cage match" but neither one of them were having it. It's not like Trump back pedal on his statements about fellow candidates but I think he quickly realized that alienating Cruz is not good for his campaign. Trump knows he is close and Cruz would seal the deal for him. Jmo

In exchange for their endorsement, candidates with any kind of support in the polls will stick around just long enough to try and cut deals with the front runners. The rest, like you mentioned will soon be exiting with their typical headline statements.

What no commies here? Sanders could still beat Billary. I think Obama was further back than Sanders is, and he's black, and has big ears and a wierd name, but he still beat her... Somebody's in denial...Billary can't get it through their heads that Obama beat them cuz America wants no more of them. It's the most extreme hubris i've ever seen... but then this job attracts that personality don't it?

Anybody else notice that Billary got alot more time than anyone else in the debate last night? The media has already voted and crowned herhighness..

Is Fiorina going to quit anytime soon? I mean she seems to be overstaying her welcome now. Im not really for or against her. There is just not a lot of energy backing her.

Trump is still bringing the largest crowds ever...everywhere he goes. Its insane. The arenas get filled, and there are always overflow areas. Im pretty sure Bernie's Crowds are much larger than Hillary's.

I dont think Rand Paul can really do much more than he has. I like the guy, but his reach is limited. What other Republican can get a standing ovation at Berkley by students? A lot of it the media is at fault. He never really got the time to get his views out as often as the usual.

Any ideas for Donald Trump's VP?

MooMoo, unless there is some incredible dirt Jeb has on Trump?... Trump is the guy.

In my opinion, Trump won the presidency the very minute the San Bernardino attack happened. Cemented further today when that idiot Bammy started crying after calling the constitution a piece of paper.

As much as I like the constitutionalist in Cruz, I'm switching my vote to Trump. Even though Cruz is the anti establishment politician, he's still a politician that has to answer to his donors. Washington needs a complete makeover and the country needs a leader who thinks about America and the people he or she was elected to represent above all else. Trump Is the most likely to make that happen jmo.

Despite the banter between the two as of late, I still think a Trump/Cruz ticket is a very real possibility. I'm also seeing NC Governor Pat McCrory's name pop up here and there for a possible running mate. Don't really know a whole lot about him.

Im in the same boat as you. We really need something totally different. Trump's personality is why I never really followed him or paid attention to over the years. However, right now its what this country needs.

Not "change" and "hope" that were promised back in 2007 and 2008. PLUS, I think a lot of Democrats are going to go for Trump. They say he has at LEAST 25% of the African American vote. Liberals go around saying he is racist and bad for black people, but he is named in so many rap albums and is so highly regarded for his wealth. Biggest thing is jobs, which Obama was the chosen one to fix unemployment for African Americans.

As for his VP, I think it may be Carl Ichan.

I think Ichan will play a role but for the same reasons I don't think Trump would ever consider being VP, I don't think Ichan would either. Would be entertaining watching the left go nutso over that possibility though.

Watching the undercard debate, Santorum is clearly auditioning for the Trump VP gig...

I watched some of the undercard debate. Santorum you could tell was trying to be loud with his chest out. Showing he has some fight, or at least trying to. I do not think Trump and Santorum would get along at all.

I thought Rubio held his own in the debate. Chris Christie lied and said he didnt support sotamayor (or however you spell her name), but he did. Rubio polls well against Hillary Clinton. The Cuban background could be a plus.

Cruz did well, but I felt some of his talk was too scripted. Cruz does know the constitution. His background is impressive. I think Trump showed a few weak spots. He basically maintained tonight. No gains, no real losses. Cruz I think could take Iowa now after tonight. Probably some Iowans on the fence, and maybe tonight gave them a push over.

Jeb Bush...he tried. Like Charles K said on FOX..Jeb had probably his best night, but does not have the follow through. His joke about Hillary going between the White House and the court house was pretty good though. Why would anyone give money to Jeb at this point.

Kasich didnt really do much. He cant pull it off. Carly Fiorina had an awful interview with Chris Matthews after the first debate.

Oh and Ben Carson. Wow he has really slowed down, and the guy talks all over the place in a odd way. He should stick to medicine.

Did you see the attack ad from Bush against Rubio? It was shown just after the debate.

After seeing that, I am certain that Rubio is the establishments pick. Folks believe that Jeb is the pick, but they have ditched him. With Bush going after the 3rd place guy, it makes perfect sense. He is the last RINO hope for 2016.

The majority of the Tea Party sees through the two-faced Rubio.

Cruz's wife IS The Establishment, and we cannot afford to have her in the WH she will doom his bid when people find this out;
In 2003, she worked for the Bush administration on economic policy.[1][11] Eventually becoming the director for the Western Hemisphere on the National Security Council under National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice in 2003.[1][10][12] She left Washington DC in 2004 to support her husband's run for elective office in Texas.[13] In 2005, she joined Goldman Sachs, serving as a private wealth manager[14] and is currently the Region Head for the Southwest Region in the Investment Management Division of Goldman Sachs in Houston.[1][10][15] She had served as vice president for seven years before the promotion in 2013.[16] She took a leave of absence without pay for her husband's 2016 presidential campaign.[13]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heidi_Cruz

Now add this to the pot, and you get a lying sack of chit-

But the couple’s decision to pump more than $1 million into Mr. Cruz’s successful Tea Party-darling Senate bid in Texas was made easier by a large loan from Goldman Sachs, where Mrs. Cruz works. That loan was not disclosed in campaign finance reports.

JAN. 13, 2016

Those reports show that in the critical weeks before the May 2012 Republican primary, Mr. Cruz — currently a leading contender for his party’s presidential nomination — put “personal funds” totaling $960,000 into his Senate campaign. Two months later, shortly before a scheduled runoff election, he added more, bringing the total to $1.2 million — “which is all we had saved,” as Mr. Cruz described it in an interview with The New York Times several years ago.

Graphic: 2016 Primary Calendar and Results

A review of personal financial disclosures that Mr. Cruz filed later with the Senate does not find a liquidation of assets that would have accounted for all the money he spent on his campaign. What it does show, however, is that in the first half of 2012, Ted and Heidi Cruz obtained the low-interest loan from Goldman Sachs, as well as another one from Citibank. The loans totaled as much as $750,000 and eventually increased to a maximum of $1 million before being paid down later that year. There is no explanation of their purpose.

How'd they pay that down? "contributions"?

not only are they hiding the truth (being kind) they are bought and paid for by the banks we bailed out, and wasn't that what the T_Party was against?
seriously, these people are not fit to hold public office.

that's a fail, another Fail and yet a third FAIL.

I see Lindsey Graham has endorsed Jeb Bush. They had a big press conference where they went back and forth telling each other how great they are and everything. Wonder what Jeb had to promise him in order to lock down Graham's highly coveted 0%?

I saw the articles earlier today on the Ted Cruz shaming voters. Really bad taste to do that, and he didnt care either when people brought up concerns. The Cruz camp is getting REALLY nasty, and have been all weekend. This whole weekend has been politically ugly on social media. Mainly Twitter. To be fair there are a lot of trump assholes online too. When I see people blindly following Hillary online I really wonder about their sanity. Bernie has a lot of momentum, and a lot of followers who dont even look old enough to vote.
