as far as i'm concerend? you just don't want to beleive that there are people capable of manipulating the markets on large scale...
if you and i exchange PM's planning to pumpandump? we are conspiring...
the government is taking over control of every facet of our lives...
it is not paranoid to see the pattern and look for a broader underlying theme...
as a matter of fact? it is sheer idiocy to ignore the patterns and chalk everything up to coincidence..
there is a reason people pay big money to join the "right clubs"....
Actually you would have to do better then that ... Patterns are not facts nor proof... play a game of poker... in 7 card stud a guy can be showing 4 hearts and betting heavy indicating a flush hand... but when showdown comes and he shows his hand he has nothing but a pair of 2's..
Patterns aren't proof... if you can't come up with the smoking gun then you are just blowing smoke like i said or breaking wind

A few coutries do not have or have very few traffic lights.. for the most part it's a free for all in their traffic system... oddly enough with CR's traffic system i rarely saw any accidents but here with our red lights and such i see alot of accidents...

I am not mocking you, I am agreeing with you that Bush has done a terrible job on the economy, (however, probably for a much different reason).
I am not advocating a bunch of new regulations or proposals to interfere with the free market. Quite the contrary, I would argue that the free market should be allowed to function, with all those businesses who screwed up being allowed to fail (regardless of their size). That would send the message that gambling with your business does have consequences and future companies would understand that. Unfortunately, the lesson to be learned by big business from the current situation is that you can take all the chances you like and the government will bail you out when you lose.
Hell must of frozen over and melted many times over for me to have finally agreed with something PMS has says...

i think hell freezing over would be an improvement to what we are watchin' mach...
some of the details about the "bailout" sound pretty unAmerican....
when Bush got on TV and started asking for people to put aside partisanship? he was really saying let ME get this done fast and don't ask too many questions...
what does that remind you of?

I really don't care if something sounds american or unamerican... there are no laws as to what is or isn't but i don't believing in bailing them out except for AIG because they are a behemoth that affects everything... the rest should be let to wither and die... let new blood in... small/mid cap companies to pick up the pieces and learn from the prior companys mistakes...

really? you think one person besides the president (Sec Treas) should be able to spend 700 billion of our dollars... that's what he's asking for... no oversight and his own discression on who gets it...
Paulson will be sitting in his office and his old buddies will be asking for thick envelopes, and he expects no oversight? it's creepy...

I heard on the radio news today that Goldman sachs the last 6 months that Paulson worked for them they paid him 17million dollars. A nice good-by party and a good parting gift.
Sounds like they like there boy and his new job.

One part of me says not to bail these companies out because no one would bail me out if i had a business that was failing.
Yet the other side of me say's you have to bail these big companies out because there are so many smaller companies that will fail because of them.(pyramid affect)
I don't think our economy will survive that many failures at this point.
Then you can add in the price of oil going up $25 dollars a barrel today. It's not so much where the price of oil hit but rather the signal this rapid price increase sent.
How are a lot of businesses going to allow for these hugh spikes in oil to control their inventories without large amounts of capital, which is not that accessible these days.

Ever think these small/medium companies can step up to the plate and pick up the pieces and they themselves become large as well. Problem is in any one industry we let a few companies dominate the industry and usually with the help of the Gov't...

The whole thing was known for a long time by that I mean about a year. I bank a Washington Mutaul and even the tellers new they were in trouble with bad realestate mortage loans a year ago.
Think what could have been done and think now if they would have saved the loans of people in the houses which intern would have saved the value of the securites and the realestate market to.And IMHO would have been doing a good deed by keeping people in there home. still could do it tht way if they wanted to.
But they would rather write the loans off and sell them to us and pick up the pieces on the quiet for a song.

I urge EVERYONE on this forum to call your congressman THIS MORNING and make your opinion known. I've heard several reports that this bailout is still up in the air. If your congressman gets a lot of calls against the bailout, they may bow to pressure and vote against it. PLEASE CALL YOUR CONGRESSMAN!
