It was so hot today I saw a dog chasing a cat, and they were both walking. It's hotter than Paris Hilton's underpants. It's hotter than the four sides of hell. It's hotter than a firecracker lit at both ends.

108 today to break a record??? ...broke one yesterday set back in 1918! [Eek!]

It was so hot today that I saw a robin pulling a worm out of the ground using a pot holder.

It ain't that hot here... but the humidity is still up. Was on a job today about an hour northeast of my house, and saw a bird's egg fall. Went to replace it in the nest...but it was soft-boiled by the time it hit the ground. Mama bird was the cooling, insulatory influence, apparently. No yolk, folks...

Must be fun melting glass in that kind of heat. [Razz] I'd stay indoors. I'm on flood watch tonight. We just got our basement dry and aired out and we're supposed to get another 3" of rain tonight. Seems like we already got 2 of them though so I'm thinking about cashing it in for the night.

i ain't even turning on the lights right now up [Big Grin] ...

we used to work in these temps in the desert, just drink water and electrolytes, but the humidity here makes it impossible...
the good news is that this temp is great for curing refractory cement... i'm casting a new furnace... i try to get the heavy work done by 10AM.. that's when it hits 90...

Memphis!!!

The Munchkin Man loves Memphis!

The Munchkin Man flew to Memphis a few years ago to visit a friend.

The Munchkin Man's friend took the Munchkin Man out to a real fun place.

The Munchkin Man had the time of his life at this place.

It was called the Platinum Plus.

Boy was it hot!

The Munchkin Man can't wait to go back again.

Best Wishes,

Munchkin Man

The Last Lap(dance) for Platinum Plus?
Heads they win; tails they lose.

DECEMBER 9, 2006 - 11:07 PM

Memphis D.A. Bill Gibbons is confident that the, oh, millionth time will be the charm when it comes to closing down Memphis' most notorious strip joint. Memphis police raided and padlocked "Platinum Plus" and the "Tunica Caberet" late Friday night, charging club owners with drug possession, money laundering, and prostitution.

Indictments for the charges will be handed up on Monday, December 11,2006. The raid culminates a 23-month investigation involving the Memphis Police Department and the FBI.

Police arrested more than 75 people, officials said. No word on if they were strip-searched or not.

Been in the 90's up here the last couple of days...but the humidity is demonic. It's times like these that I am glad that I'm on the water. Took the youngest one and her friend out tubing behind the pontoon today...that cooled em off...

75 and sunny today. Lots of wind. That's the perfect recipe to start drying out the foot of rain we had over the last week. I live fairly close to the "Root River" in SE Wisconsin. There's about a 15' dam where the river is halted as it runs under a main road at that point. Until today, you couldn't see the dam, it was just one continuous flow of water that theatened to shut down the road. As of today it had dropped about 2 feet where you can see just the top of the dam so things are looking up.

Although, driving around town today it was a pretty ugly scene. Many roads are still closed and you can see the damage that was done to many homes by the furniture and bags of garbage set out by the side of the road. Pretty sad. My basement flooded with about 6" of water and I'm considering myself one of the lucky ones. Kind of funny, this was the second hundred year flood we've had in the last 5 years now. I think those stats need to be updated to where a current 100 year flood will be on the likes of the 40 days and 40 nights of Noah.
