Folks, last weekend I said I would generate two threads and only venture out to other people's threads for the sports, hobbies and cooking threads. I have kept that promise. I respect other peoples' right to an opinion, so I refrain from engaging in the conflict driven threads that once were so dominant. Check where my posts have been in the past week. So I ask you, why are you so incensed about two humble threads in an off-topic board? It borders on OC disorder as my girlfriend explains:

"Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, OCD, is an anxiety disorder and is characterized by recurrent, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and/or repetitive behaviors (compulsions). Repetitive behaviors such as handwashing, counting, checking, or cleaning are often performed with the hope of preventing obsessive thoughts or making them go away. Performing these so-called "rituals," however, provides only temporary relief, and not performing them markedly increases anxiety."

Now I know your first impulse will be to say what does my girlfriend have to say about anything. She is a PhD Psychologist teaching and practicing at university. She describes the persistent fixation you have with what I post as potentially obsessive thought processes and the continual posting against what I say as compulsive behavior.

So now, in four weeks, has there not been enough insulting going around? Was that not on some peoples' hearts earlier this week? I sincerely made a promise not to engage in that activity, repented of any such activity I have engaged in, and have from last Sunday, moved on. It is best for all of us on these boards to do so.

Griffoon, you don't own the thread you create...
Make a thread and it is free for all members to post on.. acting as though this thread is somehow yours shows your lack of understanding about how and why allstocks works..
We are asking you kindly to cease with the preaching..

They aren't spam Glass. They are my thoughts on the subject of Revelation. You commented so far they are boring. We could have discussed what was presented and when discussion was offered, I answered those points.

Much like posting DD when nobody responds, many keep posting DD on a stock.

i don't know ace... maybe it's cuz there's a lot of religions...

and some are offended at the righteousness expressed here..
my take on Christ was that he didn't care for the righteous at all...

basically? he isn't discussing, he's preaching, and if JW says he doesn't understand the difference? that's not my fault..

but griffon says he's got a collar officially so he does know the difference, and i hear him saying the opposite of JW...

Wrong Glassman, questions are not answered during sermons, questions are answered on this thread. That is a major difference.

No whining..... this from the guy who's friends got their feelings hurt over a harmless practical joke.

I understand where you're comming from. But I wouldn't say Jesus didn't care for the righteous. The Bible says our righteousness is like filthy rags compared to Jesus. We all are guilty of sin and fall short of the glory of god

Hey Ace, way to bing up the seventh day Sabbath. I've brought it up here a couple of times and it either gets ignored or people say it's not important to God, etc.
1)The fourth commandment is very clear as to which day is the Sabbath, and how it is to be observed.
2) God rested on the seventh day of creation.
3) Jesus worshipped on the seventh day as Sabbath.

Seems simple, yet the vast majority of Christians (to be like Christ) keep a pagan Sun worshipping day as their sabbath, and most of them do not keep it holy as commanded in the fourth comandment. It makes it impossible for me to take anything they say/preach seriously if they can not get something as simple as the Sabbath day right.

Trying a different angle folks. There is nothing in the agreement to suggest religious topics are off limits. There is also no required format for a discussion thread. I am breaking up texts for easier discussion, skipping vast amounts of scripture, anyone is free to comment at any time and I do respond when the question or comment is serious.

The intent is there for discussion. That you choose to not participate is a matter of your own free will.

Something to think about, The longest commandment is the 4th and the only one to start with remember. Mabey god knew the sabbath would be forgoten. It's been around since creation, before the term Jews existed.

Yep Ace. I attended a Sunday church last week, a friend was giving his first sermon, and he and someone right before the offering both stated that we are commanded by God to worship on the first day of the week. I was dumbfounded; where are we commanded by God to do that. It's really odd...

no, you are wrong JW..

i pointed out to your brother that hundreds of millions have died as a result of religious practices and in specific so-called Christians,
and he said no, it's because of your atheism..

well guess what? i'm not an atheist..
for starters...

that means he thinks he knows things he doesn't know..and he's preaching them..

simple really...

Because hundreds of millions have not died at the hands of Christians, Glass as I have already said, but hundreds of millions have died at the hands of atheists. That is historical fact.

"that means he thinks he knows things he doesn't know..and he's preaching them..simple really..."

Since history is on my side, it is the right thing to preach that atheists have killed hundreds of millions Glass. I don't brush that under the rug. What you seem to want is for this to become a political discussion. It's not about politics, it is soon to be about who Jesus Christ is.

Seriously Griffon, go by yourself, drink 2 bottles of nasty cheap dirty swept it off the floor red wine; and then, invite God to read with you the beatitudes, about 4 times.

Can and should be a very humbling experience... You may find yourself crying...
