One home run over The Babe. It just ain't right.

Why wouldn't they just give him one test for steriods when he was under so much suspicion?(and his new XXL dome)lol.
Because it's all about the money.
715 what a joke!
Hank did it CLEAN!
And The Babe did it in ALOT FEWER SWINGS!
*****************************************************************

I'm not gonna use any foul language to express my opinion, but.....You make me sick

I say that with all my heart....Your opinion is insane in my opinion.

Steroids has nothing to do with all his homeruns..

You can inject Derek Jeter (One of the best hitters) with steroids for 10 years....and he still won't be a Barry Bonds...

You obviously were never a good BB player....or knows what it feels like to make perfect contact several times a season...size and strength aren't the biggest contributing factors!!!

Babe Ruth led the league in strike outs to by the way...and didn't face3 differeent pitchers per game like a starter, setup guy, and a closer like rivera from the yankees....look at the year bonds hit over 70 hr's...and even with all the walks...

To have that kind of pace all season.....steroids can't help that level of skill to guess the right pitches and time the ball....it's pure skill

Only people hating on Bonds......are people that weren't good baseball player...othere wise you can't help but be amazed at what bonds have done...

Give Steroids to jeter and see how many homeruns he hits the rest of his career....

Babe Ruth would be laughed off the feild by todays pitchers...

He's a dinosaur of baseball...He's a Great legend but lets stay in reality..

This is 2007 and the bar has been risen...Look at Bonds swing....it's the timing of his hips and swing...like Ken Griffy...who would broke the record also if he didn't get hurt...

Oh by the way, since the initial ML testing revealed more pitchers than hitters were on steroids, that means over 40% of the pitchers Barry was facing were all pumped up on steroids. So I don't know how you figured he was cheating. Hank Aaron never had to face pitchers on steroids.

Somewhere here there is some powerful irrationality.

Fandom seems to generate that sort of imballance.

Never-the-less, the discussion has been informative.

At first it seems to be a bit old fashioned, but I have learnt that it is acceptable for a Crip to kill a Blood, since most Bloods want him killed and everyone knows that Bloods do illegal and unethical things.

Applying this old fashioned sort of logic to a situation I watched a TV program about recently, I am to excuse the criminal for killing a judge he believed had participated in rigging the evidence in his trial, because the judge was probably crooked.

I think I see it now.

Nope, but I can see how some one that bleeds out such excuses as you have for Bonds could similarly misconstrue things to reach another absurd conclusion.

I see the Light Crust Dough Boy every time Bonds is pictured and I never saw that years ago. He "grew" over a single off season. I have a conclusion. It doesn't require twisted logic.

i don't see why everybody gets upset about 'roids...

the users pay a heavy price...

they pay an even heavier price when it's illegal...

'roids don't increase hand-eye "connectivity"

the Babe was not known for his "social skills"

Hank was/is a class act...

Anybody else just tired of this whole story...I understand the magnitude of Bonds breaking Hanks record, but do we really need to hear about it 24/7...It would be nice to turn on ESPN one time this weekend and see if Tiger can catch Sabbatini or what the latest news is out of NFL camps etc...A-Rod can't break this record soon enough IMO...

Personally, Happy Valley, I've been fed Tiger Woods a lot more than Barry Bonds over the last several years and I'm truly sick and tired of hearing about Mr. Perfect.

As to that other Mr. Perfect. Mr. A-Rod, I note that each of those that Jose Canseco has named a user has been completely unable to demonstrate that Jose spoke out of turn and several, who screamed foul at his accusations (Palmero, for example), have been proved to be exactly what he said they were.

Still, I prefer trash talk about Bonds and worship services for A-rod to anything more on some obscure member of the Kennedy family facing charges or a law suit or any mention of O.J., be it pro or con, and all I want to see of Brittany Spears are photos.

The times they have changed for the national past time. Big money, long sports talk shows and many other things, make professional sports get rather old. (can not think of one good word to decribe it)

Here i go on another grandson story, you might be getting a little tired of them.

Took him fishing the other day, do it every so often, but this time we went fishing off he pier. Bought a little pocket radio for $6.00 hard to beat that, then when we got to the pier i turned on the Dodger game.(i am not a fan of them anymore) The Dodgers do have one of the best things going in baseball and have had for a lot of years, his name is Vin Scully. Play by play there is no one better 50 years with the Dodgers. What a wealth of information and a pleasure to listen to, more guys like him could sure help professional sports out and sports talk shows.

My grandson loved listening to the game with Vin Scullys play by play, that's what he told me after his chocolate milkshake.

In an interview with HBO’s “Real Sports”
7/14/2007
Sheffield addressed the issue of steroids in baseball and more directly removed himself from the dialogue that has been surrounding San Francisco Giants’ slugger Barry Bonds. Saying “if I took what Barry Bonds took, why don't I look like him,” Sheffield admitted to taking steroids but claimed he was unaware of what the substance was when he used it.

Never get tired of the grandson stories. They are really about teaching the next generation about the pleasures and responsibilities of society.

I have to wonder if Sheffield actually knows he took the same thing as Bonds or if he took as much. Also, he already had some of that look before. We are not talking about anyone that would look out of place at a muscle man competition, before or after.

My personal guess is that taking steroids does help hitters hit the ball further. That is "if" they maintain the same swing and balance they had before they took them, which is a very important point, because sometimes when you change the stucture of your body it can change your mechanics. The same is true for pitchers, even more so.

Strength and size does help hit the ball further, but you have to have a sweet swing to constantly hit home runs and Bonds and others do have that. The steroids have helped him reach his goal sooner rather than later.

Hitters need good extension, good balance, finish their swing, hit through the ball not to it, keep the top hand from rolling over as long as possible, good eyesight, on and on it goes... But to make it simple, they need to watch the ball and hit it, easier said than done.

Some of the things that have also helped athletes break so many long standing records are the advancements in training, medical procedures, nutrition etc. All of these factors help athletes to play longer and recover from injuries much quicker.

There are so many records falling so often these days that i think some of us lose interest in the stories behind them. Somehow the excitement just isn't there for me as it use to be.

I'd say it dosn't hurt their bat speed either...
getting around on balls they wouldn't normally get around on.

As of Thursday night, the deal in place for Rodriguez calls for a base of $275 million for 10 years. But the sides were still negotiating a way for him to share in the revenue created by his pursuit of Bonds' tainted record.

if he lied? and they prove it? he should go to jail...

as for not pitching to him? how many of the pitchers are using steroids to get an extra 5mph? or back in the lineup quicker, or stay in that extra inning, or pitch an extra couple of seasons?

RUMORS are that there was just as much or more meth in baseball as there was 'roids...
